Great place to go for slightly outdated tv’s. You need to know your merchandise before you go in. Customer service knowledge is so-​so to could be better. Affordable tv’s at last year’s prices. I would and would not recommend this location.

I have purchased all my recent TV’s from Video Only and have always had a great experience. I routinely send friends and family to them as they have the best deals.
However, my last experience at the Tukwila location; will be my last.
I purchased a 42″ LED and TV mount for an RV, which I fully stated when I started the purchase. The sales associate; ‘Mike’ was very helpful and we completed the sale within minutes. He even gave me a deal on the mount.
When starting the instal; the mount he sold would not work in the RV as it allowed the TV to slide from side to side as well as the mount covered all of the video inputs. I called and was told to come back down to the store.
I drove back down in rush hour traffic to look at different mounts with him and another associate. We settled on a more expensive one that they said would work. I was told on the phone the new mount would be sold at the sale price of the original mount; this was not true and I had to pay $ 10 more. I wasn’t that upset, as I was still getting a good price on the new more expensive mount.
Once I returned home and began the installation again, the new mount would not work either with the hardware it came with it. I again called the store and told Mike of this issue. At this point I was not very happy and told them as much… I was told to again come back to the store and exchange the mount or TV. I told them I would not be making a third trip in the same day. That I would go to Home Depot and buy the hardware needed to complete the instal; but would I would like a discount on the purchase and the overall experience I had with Video Only that day. Mike agreed and said he would talk to his manager and would call me back. Ten minutes later he called back and said there was nothing they could do; that his manager said they were making no money on the deal so I should just bring it all back.
I told Mike I did not have time to return to the store and bring the items back and start from scratch. I stated I was disappointed in this response; as I had been a loyal customer for years. And that this experience would be my last. I wanted him to relay this to his manager…
I have not heard back from Video Only and I am sure I will not. They are a good place to get a good deal, if you have done your research on the TV you want. Customer Service, however, is very lacking. And management apparently cannot be bothered to correct issues or making customers satisfied.

We buy all of our TV’s at this place and here are the reasons why…
1. Experienced salespeople. Basically I go to Fry’s, Best Buy, and then Video only in the process of buying a new TV. At Best Buy and Fry’s, you come across a young salesman usually who is never the same as last time you were there. They aren’t pushy, but they usually aren’t super knowledgable about all of their inventory either. At Video Only, I always see the same salespeople there because they are commissioned professionals that make a living selling high quality televisions. I specifically have worked with Ken before in the purchase of a TV who not only answered any questions I had in depth but even searched through Consumer Reports to compare all the TV’s I was interested in.
2. Deals. You will find that the price is the price at Best Buy and Fry’s and obviously they don’t give their inexperienced salespeople free reign to start cutting deals in the process of a sale. At Video Only, their commissions depend on selling you that TV and they will allow you to negotiate a deal whether it is free HDMI cables thrown in or $ 200 off the list price. The first TV I bought there years ago, I even got the guy to throw in a surround sound system with it.
Yes the salespeople can be all over you in this place which is the only thing that I would say could lbe viewed as a negative, but I’ll deal with that if I wind up with the best TV I can get for the lowest price.

The employees need to check their egos at the door. They definitely talk to you like they are doing you a favor by gracing you with with their presence. Save yourself the incredible frustration and don’t even walk in.

I was shopping for an new TV — the guy at Costco literally told me to buy my tv at Video Only. Strange thing — I have bought all my TVs from Video Only except for one I bought at Circuit City over the last 15 years. I am a major cheap ass and Video Only has always without fail given me the best deal. Their product knowledge is also unsurpassed. Im not given them 5 stars because nobodys perfect. Have bought 2 toshibas, 2 Panasonic Vieras from them.

I never updated my review! I went in back in November 2012 searching for a particular Samsung LED TV that was running in the ballpark of $ 1400 anywhere you looked, including here. We waited for a day or two and by the time we returned they’d started their Black Friday sales! Though the price was more reasonable than before, I ended up buying a Panasonic plasma TV which had much more impressive darks, is tons lighter than the plasmas of old and cost about $ 600 less than the LED, making the entertainment unit I had to buy with it a no-​brainer! After a couple of days, the TV started shutting off while we were watching it, more and more often as time went on. We called up Video Only and they were more than happy to exchange it for another. No questions asked. Haven’t had any problems since and that was about 7 months ago! Very satisfied with my experience here.

Whaaaat! This place is so… drab. But the prices are RAD! My boyfriend and I were helping a good friend shop for a new TV and sound system for his new home and when Jim, my boyfriend said, «We have to go to Video Only» I wasn’t so sure he was right. We drove to suburbia and upon entering this business I thought, «What the hell.?» It is just NOT a pretty store. At all. But then I laughed at myself because I realized that it IS pretty for people who just want to look at audio equipment and TVs. Plain floors, plain walls, plain plain plain. But the TVs and everything else stand out like sore, gorgeous, glowing thumbs. Sure maybe the wall colors are boring and the floors are too, but people are here for good deals on TVs right? And wall mounts, DVD players, Blu-​Ray players, TV stands, stereo equipment and more. So I felt a little silly when I wanted to hate on this place for actually being awesome and focusing on the stuff they actually sell.
The sales guy that walked over to help us was also incredibly knowledgeable. It’s got to be tough in this day and age when people can access the internet from their smartphones and instantly compare prices. But that actually helped us! We were all ogling over this sexy Samsung TV that was on sale for $ 949 and on Amazon it was actually still listed at $ 1450! So not only was the price right, we got to look at it in person and test it out.
Then we walked over to the sound systems and when our friend was checking out a sweet Yamaha sound bar, Jim got lost looking at a really nice Bose system. So not only did we end up helping a friend spend some big money on some new goods for his home, Jim and I walked out with a bad ass Bose system that I’m listening to right now. Extreme Couponers never sounded so good!
Definitely hit up this store for great deals and knowledgable staff.

Jerad is a great sales guy. Super knowledgeable and no pressure. He took the time to answer all my questions. as I am electronically impaired… by the time we left I knew more about televisions than I ever thought I would. I felt very comfortable by the time I left that I was purchasing a great product at a reasonable price.

This place seemed to do a pretty good job. I was able to get a good TV that was on sale, received good information from the staff, was able to haggle and get an HDMI cable thrown in for free, and they loaded up my SUV in seconds. I don’t know what else to ask for at a TV/​Sound store…

Bought a Blu-​ray player for my parents for the holidays. The guy asked if I wanted some help and I asked a few questions and he knew the answers and was quite helpful.
Came time to buy and they threw in the $ 45 HDMI cable for the price of the cheap one. That was a nice gesture even if to me the cables are the same.
Best place to go if you like to ask questions and be informed while purchasing. Forget doing your homework before buying, just go in and they will guide you all the way.
You cannot get that kind of service at a box store, period.

Went in on Black Friday because I needed a new digital camera after my old one broke. I had my heart set on a Canon Elph 300. By the time we made it in they only had the floor model which they offered me for $ 30 off the sale price. I purchased my first video camera from them years ago and it was also a floor model, so I decided to take the offer.
Came home and tried to charge the battery with no luck. I attempted to charge it with four different outlets in the house and it still wouldn’t work. Drove back down dreading what they might say.
Walked in and was helped immediately by James and he started troubleshooting and trying to find a charger that worked. The original salesman we had named George also tried to help. They finally figured out the battery was not working and they did not have a replacement in the store. They offered to try and find another deal for a different camera or to provide me with a refund. Since I really wanted that specific camera I said I would take the refund.
James started to process the refund and then told us to hold on. When he came back he had the Canon Elph 310 in his hand. He told us that the refund would take 14 days because it was a debit card and that he could offer me the 310 for the same price we paid for the floor model of the 300 version. The 310 was going for $ 200 normally, plus it was brand new vs. the floor model I bought.
I took the deal and came home with my new camera. Works perfectly and has an improvement on some of the features of the 300 I wanted initially.
This is the second year in a row we’ve gone shopping at Video Only for Black Friday and we will definitely go again. They don’t have a line around the block like Best Buy, and they make better deals. You might not be able to buy a fridge, movies, and video games, but if you want electronics like televisions, cameras, or blu ray players they are the place to go.
They made a situation which could have been really frustrating into a smooth and satisfying experience.

I recently bought my TV from here and had a really good experience. I found my sales guy, John, to be very informative and polite. I’m really happy I went here. I know I bought a high quality TV at an extremely great price. I thought they had a great selection on TVs too.
I find it interesting that some other fellow Unilocaler’s had a difficult time with their return policy. My sales guy told me straight up that they don’t do cash refunds only store credit. That’s too bad others didn’t have the same experience I did. I’m very happy I chose to buy fom Video Only and if I ever go to buy another TV again it will be from here.

While pricing is great, don’t plan on coming here if you are simply looking to shop around and check out their inventory. Their sales people will be on you from the second you walk in to the second you leave, and won’t give you any space.
I don’t know how many times we told one of the sales people that we were JUST LOOKING, only to have him oblige then step back about three feet and watch us and then interrupt our conversation every 10 seconds with random factoids about the TV and other TVs we weren’t even interested in.
This place is much like a furniture store, where the sales people act in exactly the same way.

Purchased a TV here a few weeks ago. It was $ 45 less than the cheapest place on-​line and $ 250 less than Best Buy plus it came with a free blue ray player!
The salesman was very helpful. I went to Fry’s first, they have a better selection but I couldn’t get anyone there to answer my questions.
Video Only has return policy of store credit for opened merchandise. Costco’s is better but they didn’t have the TV I wanted besides I don’t intend to return the TV, I love it.

Dont buy TV from Video Only. You can find better prices on higher quality products online. If you must buy locally pay a little bit more for the customer service.

I bought my first TV here in 2004, it was a good TV and had no problems with it until it just recently went out on me. I figured instead of spending the $ to fix it, with it being what would now be considered an «older unit», decided to buy a new one. After much research I narrowed it down to a specific TV I wanted. The only store around that had it was Best Buy. I almost didn’t even look into Video Only because they don’t have an online inventory, which is how I do my research.
On a whim, I decided to call and see if they had the exact TV I was looking for, and they did. The person on the phone asked me what the cheapest price I had seen it for was, I told him, he said they have it for cheaper, by $ 100.
I went in that night, looked at the TV, was able to negotiate another $ 200 off the price, beating the best price in the greater area by $ 300. I added a FIVE year warranty for only $ 199.
Paperwork was a breeze, the salesman was nice enough, easy process.
I do knock off one star because I could hear other salesmen talking about their personal lives and talking somewhat inappropriately, I wasn’t offended, but I’m quite certain others would have been.
TV is great as advertised, no problems yet, but it’s only been a day!

Tip #1: Haggle. No seriously, haggle the price down. Yes, haggle even if it has a sticker with a «sale» price. No I’m not joking.
Moving along, store is very minimal and «almost» true to their name, it’s Video only as in a bunch of LCD/​LED/​Plasma, maybe 10 – 12 tv stands, one or two rows of speakers/​receivers.
Sales people are so so, prices are actually pretty decent. It seems they check prices on a daily basis and compare them with internet prices as well. They do know prices and will pricematch to those lower prices (and beat them if you follow tip #1).
Bought a tv and read the terms and conditions of the sale. Beware, read it carefully. While the store allow you to return items, they only give you store credit if you open the item. If there is a manufacture defect, then you get to replace the whole unit with the same.
So bottom line is, make sure you want that model before you buy it here!
I didn’t have any issues with the tv I purchased and didn’t have the need to have it service or returned.
Overall, good but a –1 for their crappy return policy.

My friend told me to come to this store and talk to Bryon, trusting my friend… I DID! Bryon was so helpful and not pushy at all. I walked in asked for Bryon, he came over shook my hand and introduced himself. He asked me a few simple questions to get started and that was it, the rest of the time he helped me with MY questions and concerns. I walked out knowing what I wanted in mind exactly! The LG 50PK950! Thanks Bryon… You got the sale!

BEWARE: If you spend any money with Video Only, consider it gone. They will not refund your money for any reason. And don’t just take my word for it; look at other reviews and sites like CitySearch.
MY STORY: I’ve been fighting with these people since August, trying to get them to honor their return policy. I’ve called, sent certified letters to Peter Edwards (the owner) at the 500 Strander Blvd. location, complained through the Better Business Bureau, asked the State Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection to contact them on my behalf (which it did)… but they refuse to even respond.
MY COMPLAINT: I bought a product with which I was not happy and tried to return it. The store/​regional manager refused to refund my money BECAUSE I HAD OPENED THE BOX! How is one supposed to decide whether they’re happy with a product without opening the box? ANSWER: It’s impossible!
Their policy says they’ll refund your money «If, for any reason, you are unhappy with the equipment you purchase.»
Not in my experience.
Spend your holiday shopping dollars somewhere that will do right by you if there’s a problem. This outfit will not.

This store is really weird.
It’s like a scene out of a zombie movie, the sales people are ON YOU the second you walk in and while they may have some good deals, I find that so irritating I am always waiting in the car now if the hubby wants to go in.
That being said, we have purchased items here for sure, again, pricing is great and I do suggest you check here if shopping for electronics.

Good, informative, fast service, top products, great prices

We came here immediately after attempting to buy a tv at Best Buy, which turned into a totally shady and bad experience.
We’d already spent a lot of time at Best Buy, and here we were all the way down near Southcenter and it was getting kind of late.
We walked in, looked around and found what we were looking for.
The prices were the same or a little better than Best Buy, and the salesperson who helped us was VERY helpful.
He jumped into action and got our transaction completed lickety split.
He asked if we wanted delivery, and when we said «No, we want to take it home in our truck» he didn’t bat an eyelash, just went and grabbed a dolly, and wheeled that baby right out into the parking lot and slid it right into the cargo bay just like butter.
We have been completely satisfied with this purchase 100%, and would definitely buy other electronics from here in the future as needed.

what a disappointment. hubby and i stopped in here to check out prices on 32″ 1080p resolution tv’s after a trip to best buy, where we found what hubby has been looking for at a price we liked (sony, 32″, 1080p, $ 600). we see what looks like the same or very, very similar thing here for $ 700. after milling around the tv section, with one other customer in the entire store, a sales guy finally walks over to us and asks if we have any questions. i said, «no we found the answer to our question,» at which point he gazed at me quizzically.
i told him we were looking at the sony 32″ tv and had seen the same thing at best buy for $ 100 less. he then begins to argue with me that what i saw there was a 720p and i had to CONVINCE him that i know what the hell i’m talking about! he grabs the best buy ad from the desk and starts flipping through to show me what he’s talking about. he finds an ad for another sony for $ 720, i tell him that’s not the one. the one we saw was $ 600. he then consults another guy, who i’ll affectionately refer to as sales guy #2. #2 says well, let me check online. we were then forgotten. we perused blu-​ray players and then walked out.
but wait… it’s not over yet. guy #2 chases us down in the parking lot to get back his best buy ad! «excuse me sir, i need my ad back!» he then asks hubby, «so what did you decide to do?» um, excuse me? was there an offer made or a choice given? not that i recall.
whatev. we’ll buy our blu-​ray player there because they do have the best prices on that (hence the 2^nd star), but i’ll get the tv i want at the price i want from best buy.
