Sanchez Brother’s Tree Service

Sanchez Brothers removed an overgrown grapefruit tree from our side yard today. The crew did an excellent job in a very efficient manner and left the yard cleaner than it was before they got here. The cost was very reasonable and I was impressed that they were going to donate the remaining fruit to charity. If it weren’t for the fact that they originally told me they would be here two weeks ago, I’d have given them 5 stars.

We definitely call Sanchez Bros for all our tree trimming and removal needs. They are pros!

OK, what I know about palm trees wouldn’t even fill the palm of my hand. I’m a newcomer to the Central Valley, to climes that permit palm trees, to the necessity of actually lopping these babies down to something attractive and manageable.
Three queen palms came with the house Darling Hubby and I bought in Visalia. The golden sprays they produce are said to be beautiful, and I must agree. However, by the time I had scooped 47,693.4 palm nuts (which those lovely golden sprays turn into) out of our pool, I was ready to dynamite the suckers out of the ground.
Instead, I called Sanchez Brothers. I just looked in the phone book. Whoever said the most about working with palm trees would be the winner — yes, it was the Sanchez Brothers. They’re licensed, bonded, insured, whatever; they’re a real business, not some career drunk looking for his next bottle by climbing a tree with a machete.
All three trees, taking down the nuts and the sprays and the dead and dying fronds, dealing with the pool, sweeping everything up and taking it away, would cost $ 375, Eddie Sanchez said. OK, great, sounded reasonable to me, as I looked at thousands more palm nuts, some ready to drop and some still forming, clustered on the trees. The catch: He couldn’t fit us in until four or five weeks out.
Gulp! I pleaded with him to put me on a cancellation list, and he promised to get to me sooner, if he could.
Lo and behold, the very next day, Eddie called me back. They were going to be in neighborhoods around our house and could fit us in that morning. Hallelujah!
Two big, professional tree removal trucks pulled up and at least five guys swarmed into the back yard. They didn’t waste a second setting up their equipment and getting to it. Within minutes, huge, dead palm fronds were falling from the trees. The large chunks that fell into the pool were instantly scooped out. Eventually, one guy even fired up a leaf blower, blew all the big detritis to one end, and another guy scooped it out. Considering how much dirt and debris fell into the pool, precious little was left behind by them. There was still enough to clog up our filter, but the Sanchez Bros. really took as much as they had the means to take.
I never even saw the palm nut sprays hit the ground. I’m not sure, but they may have caught those in bags or something before they left the trees. With all five or so guys working steadily, the crew was in our yard about an hour. When they left, there was a lot more sunlight in the yard, and the trees looked dignified again.
The best part? They set up neon green work cones around all three trees. A State of California regulation, or a federal one? Either way, even though they were in a private back yard, they followed the rules.
DH and I are very, very happy with the job Sanchez Brothers did for us. I will definitely be calling them the next time our queen palms start to go nutty.
