Bluestone Steakhouse & Seafood

I personally have not eaten at this restaurant. I purchased a gift certificate for my folks and they enjoyed a lovely evening there on New Years Eve. Over all their experience was good. My mother is a very picky eater and very hard to please so I was a bit worried. She and my dad said that for the overall experience the prices were way to high and the food was good and service was good just prices did not fit the atmosphere. They also took note that the management made sure to tell them that they had to be gone by 7 since they had another reservation for their table and also took note that another table of people that were seated around 6pm were told the same. I think the restaurant needs to learn how to properly make reservations. This is not the first time I have heard this about Blue Stone. My mother also stated that the mushroom soup was the best she had ever experienced. Overall Service was good and food was good.

The food was great and the server was great, however the owner was very rude. Service makes the experience in the service industry.
My partner tried to use a gift certificate from the old owner with no expiration date, and the new owner refused to accept it. That is fine, and we understand, however it is how she spoke to him about it that bothered me. She spoke to us like we were idiots. If she had been apologetic about the situation rather than rude and confrontational, we wouldn’t have cared.
I understand that our age makes us seem ignorant and although we both look young, we are both professionals in our late twenties. Yes, I understand and could read from the atmosphere of the restaurant that we were the youngest people in the building, but that is no reason to speak to us as if we are both stupid and second class.
If you go to this restaurant, make sure you are 35+ and that you have no reason to speak with the owner.

If you’re Celiac or gluten intolerant beware! Wife is Celiac and was quite sick after dinner despite assurances from wait staff her menu selections were gluten free.
Blame doesn’t lie with wait staff but with the kitchen. All too often a kitchen’s knowledge of gluten is shallow or they cross contaminate food in kitchen. We suspect it may have been the cheese sauce (instant most likely) on the scalloped potatoes or marinade on steaks or appetizer. Or as mentioned above it could have been cross contamination in kitchen.
I had porter house steak and wife had the Del Monico steak. They were tender and cooked correctly. That said, they were lacking in flavor except for bland marinade. Better and less expensive can be had at most of the chain steak restaurants. Scalloped potatoes were a disappointment. I’ve had better out of a box. Asparagus spears were very good as was the crime brûlée dessert.
Good atmosphere in the restaurant with live music. Service was passable but not at a level expected from an «upscale» restaurant as waitress was inattentive at times.
Would have given 3 stars had it not been for the gluten issue. Upscale prices for average food.
All considered, a disappointing experience.

My husband decided to take our daughter and myself out to a good steak dinner. It was 4:30 on a Thursday and there was no one in the restaurant, but us and the waitress. We recieved the menu and could not believe they were charging the amount of money they were for items. Now don’t get me wrong, we can afford it, but the place wasn’t even that nice and so far the service hadn’t been great. It took the waitress 10 minutes to get us water… I don’t think she really cared for us bringing our daughter either by the glaring looks she gave us every time my daughter laughed. We ordered an appetizer which was expensive and not that great. She came over and asked us what we were having we told her we weren’t sure yet. She asked us about my daughter and we said we think the chicken strip, but hold off on it because we weren’t sure if we were going to order an entrée. We asked for the check a couple minutes later. Apparently, she had put my daughter order through even though we didn’t want it. They didn’t even give us the discount of the say posted on the outside board. I’d really like to know how they can justify a $ 30 charge for adding a lobster tail to your steak…

I don’t eat steak but will say that the silence at my table for those go do definatley made a statement. Everyone raves about their meal. For me, I choose the halibut which did not disappoint. Full of flavor which a side of crispy asparagus. The service was impeccable and attentive. They have creative and flavorful cocktails too. And the fact that they put reading glasses on the table was a nice touch.

This was our first time and thought it was would be a good place to start out our date night. Made reservations and my first impression from the time we walked in the door was that it definitely is upscale. Shelby our server was great. She knows the menu well and helped us choose our entrée’s. I had the Aged rib-​eye and my wife the Chicken Marsala. Both were delicious and we liked the fact that soup or salad is included. We shared a chocolate mousse and glad we did because it is quite large. It was outstanding. We can’t wait to go back and try other items on the menu and to have more mousse.

Went here for Easter this year, I ordered the chicken fried and my wife got the club sandwich I think. Neither were go back for, my folks got something entirely different and they said it was just «ok». Place was full but not packed. Service was extremely slow and they were out of what I had ordered first, which Is not good on a big weekend like Easter.

Im glad I can say I had a great experience here for my birthday dinner. Aged Ribeye for 21 days, was cooked to perfection! Enjoyed the low lit environment, staff, & the pianist. In my opinion and my husband, we enjoyed it very much! Thank you.

The last few times I have been to Bluestone I have been disappointed. Everything seem a little off. From the lighting, to a bit messy (like a vacuum cleaner sitting out, table cloths stacked on a table, service seemed less professional and rushed). Everything was okay, but certainly not great.
They seem to want to go for volume and the quality in my opinion has suffered. Hope things turn around.

Made reservations for the first time at the beginning of February. Since I waited so long, (my fault), we had to take early dinner on a Saturday. Like early. 5:00! But no worries. We were hoping the food would be worth it.
We got there, & I was definitely not expecting it to be in a strip mall, but I’m trying not to judge. We go in. It’s dimly lit. Dark walls & curtains. There are maybe two other couples in there. Do normal people eat before 5:00??? Anyway. We were taken to our table that was near a fireplace. Our waiter was at our table in like ten seconds, dude was fast!
Neither of us drink, so we ordered our lame ice waters while we looked at the menu. Our waiter told us the specials & gave some suggestions. My wife got one of the specials, which was a filet & lobster tail. It came with a salad, soup, and mixed veggies (we think). I ordered a filet with asparagus & a salad.
The food presentation was gorgeous. I ordered my steak too done, so it was a little more tough than I prefer, but I get kinda worried if the chef is going to assume «medium» means «mooing».
We also got dessert. (Of course!) Wife got an amazing vanilla crème brûlée & I got chocolate mousse. Oh. My. Yum. Soooo good!
Overall, the food was great. Waiter was funny & quick. I will definitely return next time Webster in Tulsa!

Very surprised that I never received any kind of response from Blue Stone concerning the email that I sent after visiting their restaurant for the first time. Any kind of acknowledgment would have been nice. The email is below.
My husband and I had reservations at your restaurant for Valentine’s Day. Our reservation was at 8:00 and we arrived around 7:45. This was our first visit to your restaurant and we were excited and had been looking forward to our night out. We had received excellent referrals and were expecting a nice, intimate dinner. When we arrived and were taken to our table, we were very disappointed. We were sat at a table for two (which was fine) but the tables were so close together that we could have eaten off of the plates of the couple sitting next to us. We would have left to go somewhere else, but we knew that there was no way of getting in. When people make reservations at a restaurant on special occasions, they expect a certain amount of intimacy and privacy with their loved one. This was the total opposite of that. I realize that this night is probably your busiest night of the year, but instead of trying to squeeze in as many people as you can, please remember why the customers came to your restaurant (with reservations) in the first place, for great food and a great atmosphere. We were not able to enjoy our meal because of the atmosphere… too many people in too small of a space. We both left very disappointed. Please consider this when planning for future special occasions.

Thought this was an upscale restaurant. It’s in a strip mall. Food was subpar. Cannot recommend. Food came out one person at a time and it was cold. No flavor to the food either. I would have done better cooking my own filet at home. Only good thing about the evening was our waiter. He was great!

We went to Bluestone for the first time tonight. What a nice surprise. It was quite busy since it’s Valentine’s weekend, something we hadn’t taken into consideration. We wanted to eat early and get out before the crowd and they were very accommodating. Everything we ordered was delicious… and we are picky. My husband ordered a sirloin with signature marinade. I ordered the Artichoke Chicken. I’m actually not a chicken fan, but it was fantastic. I mean… let’s get dressed up and go out to dinner fantastic.
I’m giving them 4 stars because I never give 5. I will only offer one negative and that is I think the décor is tired. It’s clean as a whistle, and the service was great. Can’t wait to try some of the other menu items.

Had dinner here last nigh, everyone thought the food was just ok. I had a steak, it was cooked as i ordered (medium) and it was a bit chewy. All food lacked seasoning. Price was ok, service was ok.

This place is a study in contradictions. It wants to be an upscale place, and positions itself as such online. However, the décor and atmosphere does not match (think mix of upscale-​ish fitting, over starched white linens, threadbare carpets and kitschy christmas décor).
They have this nice stone fireplace, and then plastic golden christmas bells on it.
They have a nice menu (in terms of whats on it), but present it as a laminated menu that you’d expect from an olive garden.
Their stuffed mushrooms are cooked well and taste pretty good, but is presented in a weird deconstructed manner on a bed of super greasy lettuce.
They apparently have a great steak (I did not eat that myself), but their Tuna is listless and definitely not seared — more of a cooked lukewarm outside.
The food was overall decent-​ish, and relied very heavily on the use of butter to carry taste through (I mean drenched, as compared to standard copious use), service was good, and atmosphere was ok if I’m being generous.
Overall, I feel that there are better places for your money, but not too bad if you’re in the area and want some steak.

Not really impressed.
I have to first say that we showed up here at an odd time of day so probably caught them off guard. I don’t think the timing of our visit explains away the negatives completely. A dirty, cluttered restroom area is never acceptable and neither is staff within earshot of customers complaining about their coworkers. The food was okay, but I’ve paid less for much better quality.
It’s always important to consider the reviewers tastes when taking food recommendations, so here’s a bit about my tastes; I eat the highest quality foods I can find, I cook myself whenever possible, I travel all over and have eaten food prepared by some of the best chefs in the US. I don’t rate a chain restaurant low if I eat at one because I knew what I was expecting when I decided to eat there.
This place is heavily advertised locally as a family run place serving high quality freshly made food. That was what I expected. It just didn’t deliver. The atmosphere was dark and ‘cave like’ in the middle of a bright Sunday afternoon. The real deal killer was the bathroom, I always wonder what the kitchen is like when the restrooms are bad.

By far one of my favorites in tulsa. This place is definitely pricey (but worth it), so I don’t get to frequent as often as I would like. But every time we do go everything is absolutely perfect.
The spinach artichoke dip is unrivaled by any I’ve ever had. It’s absolutely delicious and served with warm, homemade bread. It’s my favorite part of the meal every time.
I’m also a fan of the spicy Cajun Alfredo. This is great for the person that doesn’t want steak every time they frequent a steak house.
The ambiance of this place is amazing. So cozy and comforting. I love coming here in the winters, as fires are always blazing in the many fireplaces through out the restaurant.
The best part — Fridays and Saturdays they have live music. Johnny Johnson plays from 7 – 9 and is absolutely wonderful. He’s been playing in tulsa forever, and makes a good dining experience a great one easily.

Hidden Gem!!!
The couple that married my wife and I took us here as a treat. They paid and blessed us with a wonderful meal.
From apps to entrees this was great!
Atmosphere is dim and intimate.
Salads were unique and fresh. Appetizers were visually appealing and delicious, a perfect vehicle to take us into our meal.
This is a steak and seafood place that offers fresh items with great traditional takes on the foods we crave.
The table I sat at had orders of steak, salmon, shrimp and a blue cheese flatbread with steak on it. (This item my not exist on the menu regularly).
This is a place that locals love and keep the doors open but the those in the «know» seek it out. We were blessed to have been brought here or we would not know what we are missing.
I’d recommend going on a holiday with the set «course» menu. That could be when they shine the brightest!

Speechless. So I will write it…:)
This establishment serves highly flavorful and delicious food. My wife had the Aged Blue Ribeye (precisely medium rare as ordered) with the French Mushroom Button Soup (very tasty). I had the Chicken-​Fried Chicken (amazing) and a salad. The serving size of our meals were large and appetizing.
Our server (Vickie) was friendly and knowledgable. The owner came to our table to greet us and congratulate us on my wife’s birthday and the news of our baby girl!
Definitely will be back to this gem of an restaurant in South Tulsa!

We discovered Bluestone via Restaurant Week and I have to say we were impressed. The lunch menu was definitely a steal.
I had the soup du jour which was their highly requested lobster bisque. One of the best bisques I’ve had in town! It came with large chunks of lobster which sent my taste buds into a craze. For the entrée, I had pan fried tilapia with lemon-​caper aioli and my boyfriend had the Italian chicken. The tilapia was good, but I really liked the chicken with balsamic. We had cobbler for dessert, which was a little too heavy for me, but my boyfriend LOVED it.
We really enjoyed the waitstaff, but felt the ambience was a little stuffy. Their speakers were out so the entire restaurant was very quiet, but our waitress stated that on weekends, there is a live band and the bar is usually packed. All in all, we enjoyed the restaurant and would recommend it to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion (it’s a bit pricey!)
