What happened today was semi-​blind luck. I took a referral from my primary care physician’s office, also in MV, and immediately called Dr. Stoller’s office. His front office person, Tiffany, took my information, and then asked if I could take their 130pm appointment time. It was a little after 1pm when I called. I said I could, and would. I was there in ten minutes. Within another ten minutes of filling in some forms, I was in David’s office being tactile-​examed and then processed through his computer based, in-​office imaging. It was amazingly quick. And while he shared his opinions after the x-​rays, I was able to see what he saw on the monitor.
I’d been vacationing in Brasil for a month, and was suffering from a painful right foot; thinking I had a stress fracture. I’d had the pain, on and off, for almost five months. In addition, and in that same foot, I had an ingrown toenail. «Lucky me!» I told my wife that, «…as soon as I get home, I’m seeing a doctor!» And what made today’s visit so great, was that I was seen immediately. And Dr. Stoller proved himself to be thorough, efficient, and very knowledgeable.
He found what he felt was a type of dislocation, which he felt was the probable cause of the pain. He did an «adjustment» to both my right and left foot, and explained that I should call him tomorrow and share how my right foot felt. And in the same visit, and within 5-​minutes, he also treated my severely ingrown toenail. Without going into great detail, he took care of two major issues that were making walking a chore.
If it’s pain in your ankle or below, I heartily recommend a Podiatrist over a Orthopedist. In my humble opinion, the Podiatrist will be focused on your foot; that’s what they treat, and that’s the focused health care your feet deserve. Obviously, if it were reconstructive surgery, or involved severe complications involving other specialties, your Podiatrist can then recommend that specialized and additional evaluation and care. I felt I made a good choice today, and as I said, feel I really lucked out in getting what I believe is a good health care professional.
And by the way… I’ve also written less than complimentary reviews on other medical providers… so don’t think I give every health care provider 5-​stars… Only when it’s deserved, and I feel safe in making the recommendation. And remember… a good portion of finding a «Good Doctor»… is how that provider makes you feel; how you «get along with them.» Again, I know I lucked out this time.
