History

Established in 2003.

I have been taking photographs since my childhood. My first interest began when my mom gave me her Kodak Brownie. It had seen its better days but one time it created the photograph I could have never made on my own. It was a double exposure of my dad carrying gear and the lighter larger in background photograph was of me in my Boy Scout uniform saluting. It was then that the photography bug got me. Obviously someone else had taken the photo of me but that such a photograph could be made had me inspired. It created an emotion that I was looking for. A very unique emotion… Father and son working together in the Boy Scouts. Since then I have been taking photographs to capture the special emotion that you can’t quite put a finger on. The husband and wife showing their love to the world, the Father encouraging his son to achieve his best. The family sharing their love at Christmas.

Family portraits mean a lot to me. I have one of my family that just cries out «We are Family» It means all the more to me in that I was able to take that family portrait six months before my mother left us for her final reward.

I don’t get back to my home state very much but when I do I take my camera cause I never know what special photos of my family I could take. We had a family reunion so I took a photograph of all of us. Mom was so glad I could make it since Oklahoma is a long distance from Western New York. Six months later the snow in February of 2011 was horrendous. It was during that storm that involved the whole country that my mom passed away. Because of the snow I wasn’t able to say goodbye in person. All flights were cancelled. The one treasure I have then, is that family portrait I took six months earlier. Of all the photos I have that is my most treasured photograph because it reminds me of my mom. This is the reason I take photographs, to capture the moments.
