I am pleased to say my thoughts on Legends will be my 200th review! :) Now…I was a bit hesitant to go to Legends when I moved back to Tulsa after being gone for sometime, as Caravan was one of my favorite places on earth to go with my friends. However they assured me that Legends was the better choice now and days. I would sadly now have to agree. Caravan is all smoking and the average age went up a few years. Legends early on in the night is how Caravan in its prime used to be for me. Lots of country, lots of line dancing, lots of cute country boys to look at.(I just wish more guys would be gentleman and ask a girl to two-step like they did at Caravan… but oh well enough of my short rant… a girl can dream) As the night progresses Legends turns into an R&B/Hip hop club… very strange… Its fun for awhile but then it gets a little to «frat boy gangster» for me so we always leave and finish the night somewhere else downtown. I do like is that the bathroom is huge and for the most part clean. The bar tenders(especially the girls) are for the most part always kind and thoughtful as well. There are quite a few large TV screens to watch whatever football game highlights your heart desires from the day. PS. they do have a system at Legends where you can text a number to request a song which I thought was kinda neat. I will be back Legends to dance my little country girl heart out… hopefully there will be some more cute country boys that learned some manners in the meantime :)

They need to fix that mic to speaker sound flow. We and a considerable section of the floor had trouble hearing due to echoing and words getting muffled so lots of people were just getting up middle of the comedic acts to move so they can hear better. It’s disruptive and for a comedian a lot can get misinterpreted or not even interpreted at all!

If you enjoy country music and plenty of line dancing definitely stop in. There is plenty of cheap beer to keep the dancing going all night long. The dance floor is huge and there are plenty of pool tables if you arent the dancing type. Or you can sit and watch sports on thier huge screen. The best feature of this place is there is no smoking allowed inside. So you can dance the night away and not smell like an ash tray at the nights end.

Take my review with a grain of salt because I’ve been to Country Dance Halls all over the country. As far as country bars go, Legends is About a three star, but compared to other places in Tulsa, it’s a five star. There is no cover and the drinks are cheap, but they don’t have a great selection of beer. If all you enjoy is Domestics like Budweiser and Coors, then you’ll be OK. If you tend to go for darker stuff like Ambers or Stouts the best you have there is Boulevard Wheat. The dance floor is large, but there are 4 huge padded steel beams in the middle providing a few obstacles on the dance floor. Like drunk dancers really need more obstacles than other drunk people. Another problem with the dance floor is a lack of a railing all the way around. This means that lots of people end up just standing on the dance floor when it’s packed on Friday and Saturday nights. This place is quickly becoming the last stop for drunk twenty-something’s who are downtown. It’s pretty good up until midnight when the crowd really rolls in and fills it up. With that comes all of your typical loud, obnoxious people starting fights and getting rowdy.

So honestly I am not a big fan of dance halls, however sometimes I like to venture out of my box and I found myself one eve at Legends. Now mind you it was my best friends birthday and we were in high«spirits» when we made our way from the max to this venture. The crowd was hopping for a late Saturday night and the music was alive with the sound of a good boot scoot. We made our way to a small table in the back next to some random hay stacks, nice touch, and soon joined in for various line dances from the days of old and some new ones I learned that eve. I recommended taking friends and your spouse. My fiancé and I danced until we couldn’t take it anymore. I left wanting more and can’t wait to go back maybe in a few months. The downside to the place is it can be overcrowded so making it to the bathroom if you are the other side of the building next to the entrance can be a challenge!

As a former Nashville resident, it’s hard for me to judge a saloon objectively. Legends has all the components to be a solid country dance hall and the layout is great but for me it just didn’t deliver. Perhaps I hit this place at the wrong time of night(1AM) as I felt like an old man in a college nightclub… and I’m in my early 30’s here. So perhaps I’ll give this another try at an earlier hour. One bonus that can’t be understated… they have free self serve water machines on the sides of all the bars.

Descriptive phrase: country dance hall /club. Maybe it’s not right for a Northerner like myself to be the first to review Legends Dance Hall and Saloon, but here goes. I stopped by this big ol’ warehouse in the Blue Dome District on a Saturday night visiting with some friends. No cover when we got there, and only a small line that moved quickly. There’s a giant wood dance floor in the center, with maybe 3 or 4 bars scattered on the edges. Plenty of space to dance or stand/sit and watch. Music started out very country with about ¾ of the people on the floor line dancing, but got progressively more«club» as the night went on. Filled up completely by the end of the night. Drinks weren’t nearly as expensive as I expected(shots between $ 4-$ 6, Lone Stars at $ 2), and service was quick even with the crowds. There’s an upstairs VIP loft area that overlooks the dance floor. I ended up there at some point, but it was pretty dead. I was having much more fun with the crowd below. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first country dance hall experience. If I ever land back in Tulsa I’ll be swinging by Legends.
