I am sad to give this location only 1 star because I’ve enjoyed this location over the years. Over the last year though it has been a disappointment each time. First of all, the hostesses have never been friendly and acted annoyed that we were there. When we’ve had a reservation they can never find it at first and are extremely rude, to the point we have almost walked out at that moment. The wait staff is hit and miss, with maybe a couple of good servers who are pleasant. Everyone else seems to have a bad attitude. Today we had reservations for Mother’s Day. The only option was to have their $ 27 buffet. My husband had specially asked if the regular menu would be offered and not just brunch, and the hostess had said yes. We had young kids with us and adults who did not want a buffet. Sure enough the buffet was only option. The food was mostly cold and not fresh. The man cutting prime rib was less than thrilled to be there and told us several times he was going on break soon. Ok? Thankfully we had a very nice waitress who kept all of our drinks refilled. I will definitely not be going to this location any time soon. We will head to the newly remodeled Utica location and hope for a much better experience all around.

Sat in the bar and had appetizers. Food was good as well as the service. Pricing was a bit high for the area. No draught beer and no domestics which was a down side. Lighting could’ve been brighter. Overall good experience

Most disappointing dining experience… service was the worst… we were the 2nd couple seated for Valentine’s day reservation at 5 and the last ones to have our order taken only after having to complain about it… the food wasnt anything to write home about either… had a much better meal at the celebrity club the nite before. highly recommend the celebrity club for dinner… hands down the best Caesar salad ever! Would never recommend this place ever!!!

Dismal failure for our Anniversary. We noted on the reservation we were dining for our anniversary. The food was terrible and our waiter acted totally bored to be there. At a cost of any amount, the meal would have been a disappointment, but the fact that this cost us nearly $ 100 for 2 people and they actually served me a refrigerator cold prime rib that was so tough I could barely cut it is nothing short of an insult. Trying to get the waiters attention to send it back(a first ever for me) was difficult bc he was so intently standing in the corner where he could watch the tv in the bar. Knowing it was our anniversary made absolutely no difference to this failure of a dining experience. Happy anniversary waste of money for us.

We came here with high expectations because of several high recommendations and were very disappointed. The service was great but the food was not. We live in ft smith and everytime we come to Tulsa we go to mahoganys but a few people told us to try Mcgills so we did tonight and were very disappointed. I ordered the filet and my husband ordered the ribeye, both steaks were tough and had no flavor. Save your time and money and just go to mahoganys, you will not be disappointed!

Met a client for lunch here and the food was on par with the Sizzler(if they still have those). Bread was hard from sitting under heat lamp or in warmer. I started with the Caprese salad and the tomatoes were not very ripe and the mozzarella was not fresh; was hard as well. The lunch special filet came wrapped in bacon and had little flavor but was cooked to the temp requested. The server was the best experience about McGills! Joellene was extremely friendly, efficient and professional!

McGill’s at 61st and Yale is now on my DONTUSE list for a private function. We have a program scheduled there tomorrow night that was booked in January — with a signed contract! We called today to lock in our 12 RSVPs. Amy, the manager, had double booked their private room with«one of their best customers». They want to «accommodate us» by relocating us to their downtown location. Really. Not exactly accommodating us. We are going to Mahogany instead. Thought this might be of interest to people that integrity is not on the menu at McGill’s. Please pass the word.

I love this place and I love to eat in the bar! This place runs like a well oiled machine! The GM Amy is hands on and the staff is efficient, courteous and appreciative! They pour a good drink here! We had a wedge with blue cheese, caprese salad, and a piece of blackened tilapia split two ways 50 bucks out the door! Grill is open till 10PM!

We had a wonderful dining experience here and will definitely return. I’m sorry to see so many poor reviews in recent months — maybe something has changed — we had none of the issues other reviewers complained about. We sat at a booth in the bar area and had excellent service from the bartender. The lobster bisque was some of the best I’ve ever had: thick and creamy, lovely flavor, and lots of nice big chunks of lobster. The Caesar salad was very nice. We split the Steak Gerard with garlic mashed potatoes and fresh grilled vegetables, and it was all fantastic. I was surprised to read other reviewers’ complaints about tough steak, because ours was incredibly tender, perfectly cooked, and delicious. We’ll probably visit the 21st St location more often since that is our part of town, but this location is a great south Tulsa option.

We love McGill’s. Have been there for both happy hour and dinner several times. I am impressed with their bar, they have a good selection and amazing cocktails. Last night I had a cosmopolitan with Ciroc vodka(not everyone carries this vodka so it was nice to see they had a good selection). This is now my favorite cosmopolitan in Tulsa, it was prepared perfectly. My husband had a dirty Tito’s Tini which is olive juice and Tito’s vodka. Our friends started out with a cocktail and champagne and then switched to red wine. The service was attentive and professional. I see that some reviewers say this is dressy and it is an upscale atmosphere, but we were not dressed up last night(as we decided to go last minute and didn’t have time to go home and change) and didn’t feel out of place. Their menu has so many good entrees to choose from, and great appetizers too. Last night we ate on the later side so we skipped the appetizers, but I have had them before and they are excellent. I did eat too much bread, it was so good! My friend and I both had one of the specials(I think they had 4 specials last night)-parmesan encrusted halibut. Another special I was tempted to get was the filet and shrimp. With the halibut I had the seasoned rice and seasonal vegetables and she had the roasted red potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Our other friend had the strip steak and my husband had prime rib quesadillas. We all thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. My husband woke up this morning and said how much he likes McGills. They have been around a long time and we are just starting to frequent it, we like it so much.

Great service, good food. The atmosphere was ok. I’m a big boy and the restaurant was cold to me. Hard to enjoy a meal when you are shivering.

Denny’s-quality food at luxury-level prices. The food was average but its high price warranted high expectation. It didn’t deliver; it shouldn’t have fleeced its customers. For such a high price and merely average product, the McGill’s by 61st& Yale deserves a below average rating. Service was above average and very courteous, but the food was average. When prices are as far above average as McGill’s, you expect an above average product. The frontside waiters delivered but the kitchen didn’t.

I visited McGill’s during a business trip to Tulsa — this was the second visit. I have to say, I’m not sure what brought be back aside from the location and food option(steaks/seafood). I had a mediocre experience the first time and the second visit was about the same. The service was good — the place was very busy(surprisingly so for an early weeknight) but it took way too long to get our food and finally our check at the end of the meal. It seemed like our server was juggling alot of tables so we’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. The food was ok… nothing outstanding and of the six people on our party, I don’t think anyone was ready to rave about their dish. The décor in McGill’s is «steakhouse style» and could stand a little updating in my opinion. I have been to another steakhouse not too far from McGill’s but we were looking for something a bit more reasonably priced — at this location I think you’re getting exactly what you pay for.

Upscale«prime» steakhouse. Nothing to complain about except I got a better meal at Charleston’s and Outback for less money. Charleston’s side salad beat this place by a mile, and the prime KC strip I ordered had more gristle than my sirloin at Outback. Not sure, I would come here again with all the other good choices around.

I will admit that I don’t get to eat this well often so the prices for me stung a little but worth it.

We had dinner here the other night with some old friends we hadn’t seen in years. We made reservations on a Saturday night but when we arrived the place was surprisingly empty — no reservation needed. Service: Our waitress was very attentive and took very good care of us. In fact, she kept my coffee so full I had trouble sleeping that night. Food: I had the NY Strip which was absolutely the worst cut of meat I have ever had and I have had some bad cuts of meat. I had to cut about 1⁄3 of it away because it was nothing but gristle. Then I didn’t finish it because it was honestly too much trouble to chew. My wife had the filet which came out looking a bit like a charcoal briquette. Definitely overcooked and not tender at all. Our friend ordered pork chop with applesauce on top — it looked like cheese. He didn’t say anything but he didn’t eat half of it. Atmosphere: We had a nice evening catching up with friends. Music was nice and the place was cozy. We stayed past closing as time got away. We heard the staff comment that«We were still there» although it was right at closing time so we wrapped things up and headed out(I have never stayed anywhere past closing and felt bad that we kept the staff a little late) . Overall: I don’t give many one star reviews but the quality of all our meals was so poor for the price there simply is no way to give McGills anything else. Not sure what has happened to the quality I remembered in the past but this was more than poor preparation on the cooks part — this was a combination of poor quality and poor prep. Honestly have had better at Golden Corral.

I just was not impressed with this place. Had high expectations based on the Unilocal reviews but was not satisfied. My fiancé ordered a steak, maybe the t-bone or ribeye and it was really tough. Not overly cooked but just a bad steak. I can’t even remember what I had maybe a pasta dish.

Stayed at the Double Tree in Tulsa. Found McGills a few blocks from hotel. Very convenient. The food was fantastic! One night I had Scallops and the next night I had the Lamb. I would eat here every night if I could just to try everything on the menu. Ambiance is excellent. Staff is as friendly as can be and extremely attentive. Highly recommend!!!

Had dinner here on 6⁄5. First time in Tulsa and was staying across the street. The décor was nice. Dimly lit and quiet. Service was decent. A little slow on beverage service but polite. They had a lot of specials and was a tad difficult to keep track. I decided to try the lamb chops(veggies and red potatoes). I also added a side of house salad with raspberry vinaigrette. My friend got the coconut shrimp. He also ordered one of the recommended IPA and didn’t like it. The waiter immediately replaced it with another one. The food came out in a relatively timely fashion. Nothing special about the salad. The lamb was pretty good but I thought the portions were on the smaller side. Nothing special about the veggies. But the potatoes were nicely flavored. All in all, a decent meal. Would probably not opt for the same item next time.
