Steak ‘n Shake

The food is awesome! The thing that isn’t awesome is the people in here. Apparently Sunday is «bring your screaming kids» day. I am about to lose it!!! Now this kid is climbing into my personal bubble and his mom is threatening to spank him. He screams more at the threats. Omg. This sucks!!!
Also. They were out of bananas.

Very disappointed today!!! The food tasted great but the service was terrible! I’m usually an excellent tipper but I didn’t leave one penny !! The manager was no better then the server! First the server kept ignoring us to help an old man and treat him like royalty. When we finally ordered our food came out like 30 minutes later. I asked for cheddar cheese on my .89 cent slider it’s supposed to cost .10 cents more they charged me .79 cents PER slider! My Cajun fries were cold and bland. They didn’t put bacon on our sliders like we requested. It came out after our sliders were gone. So they said they wouldn’t charge us but they did! Everything took extra long for us while everyone around us was served attentively! The manager corrected the cheese but then added the bacon in saying cheddar costs more. I’m like on a big burger not a slider! I’m American Indian. And my fiancé is white. Our kids look white but I do not. The manager looked down her nose at me and was rude and condescending! I ate here three days ago got great food and excellent service! Tonight’s crew are jokes! And have ruined my appetite for eating here. Everyone deserves to be treated kindly. Since she was nice to my fiancé and rude to me I’m assuming my race was the issue! I

Was pushed here to INDIAN TERRITORY which is modern day Oklahoma generations ago! Even if I were Hispanic like I believe she assumed by the way she turned her nose up to me because I mentioned we were from California is deplorable. Every person is a person who deserves to be treated the same as any other person. Judge me by the content of my character not the color of my skin! I want to eat here again but this server and this manager probably won’t make that possible! I was charged for every little thing and informed even though I ordered a chocolate Coke I could not have a refill only regular Coke unless I wanted to be charged another fee on top of all the extra fees. I own a facility management company in California and would never treat my customers rudely for any reason! They charged me the same price for cheese that they charged for my burger almost! She took a couple of the charges off but like I said added the bacon the promised not to charge after the fiasco of not getting it on time. And oh yeah our force way we had to ask for three times after we got our food before we got it! I was fully planning on dessert but skipped it to get the heck out of there. Dining out should release stress not cause it. There are so many great places to eat in Tulsa pick someplace with better service!

Steak N Shake is one of my very favorite restaurants. We don’t have one in our town so I’m always excited when I can find one. This one however was very disappointing, not in the food but in the service. We were neglected. it took us forever to get drinks and our server had an injured arm and could get no one to help her carry things that she was unable to carry. Thankfully another person finally came over and they took care of us. We probably won’t come back to this one

First time at a Steak and Shake. Will not be back. It was drama from the staff from the moment we walked in until we had paid and left.
The management at this location needs to be fired.

Had their new sriracha steak burger and fries.
Nice and spicy and very very delicious

Only saw our waitress when she took our drink order. She messed up the orders. Had to ask other staff for help. Finally the manager helped us and salvaged the horrendous meal. 2 stars for the manager.

I usually go here once every other week or so. The staff was always extremely friendly to me, especially after a long day at work. Always serves with a smile and made sure everything was okay. It’s sad about the bad reviews. I’ve had no issues whatsoever.

I love the Steak n Shake chain, I always order the same thing every time I go. This particular location ¾ times ALWAYS has my order missing something. most often my fries. they take waaaay too long to get my food, and the most of the employees are un-​enthused lethargic morons with terrible attitudes. I LOVE the food, and hate the customer service.

Lots of burger and fries specials for $ 3.99. Also from 2 to 5 shakes and drinks are 50% off. While we were there, a handful of people came in just to get a shake.
The burger wasn’t as thick as I remembered but I was still full when I left (and I didn’t have a shake). The reason I mention the thickness is that the edges of my burger where a bit crisper than I would have preferred. I peeled off the tough pieces and ate the rest.
The shoestring style fries where done right and tasted great with the ranch dressing I requested. We also requested extra pickles which they brought with no extra charge.
Of note, the ice tea is only a dollar and 50% off that from 2 — 5. Really good deal considering they will give you a to-​go cup if you request it.
Good place to go to get a burger, really good place to go to get a shake from 2 to 5.
For the price, taste and service I would have normally given 4 stars but the floors took one star away.
One recommendation to the staff is to take a bit more time cleaning the white tile floors. When you walk in, the entrance looks soiled and doesn’t give a good first impression to new visitors. A good daily cleaning (with some extra touch up throughout the day) with a degreasing solution might be helpful.

Very slow service. Burgers are great, but fries are almost always cold. Check your bags before leaving the drive thru. They always mess my order up. Shakes are very good. I had a chocolate covered strawberry shake and it was delicious.

Tawny is one of the only reasons we keep coming back, if she get pulled off Sunday mornings we are gone and we will take a few other people with us. We are in at least 3 times a week, so big pig manager don’t know your name does not really matter. If you think you can save a fast failing business by running off at least 10 regular customers good luck!!,

I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews, but this place is great. I came in on mother’s day (the busiest day in the restaurant business) and my server (Michaela) was perfect. Always smiling and checked on me often. I’ll definitely come back.

My girlfriend and I are huge steak and shake fans, however this one is a huge disappointment! The waitress we had only checked on us once, another waiter named Dylan was the only one doing anything in the restaurant. My fries were soggy and my shake wasn’t very good. I’m very disappointed.

Every time we come here there is some sort of problem! The person taking our order is too distracted, so our orders are wrong… The entire crew is lacking in communicative skills… I could go on. It is ridiculous. We have not eaten here once without having a problem. Even now, someone walked in after waiting in the drive through for ~20 minutes. So, we probably will not be back at this location.
The food is great, though… Even if our order is wrong. I recommend the sea salt and cracked black pepper French fries!

Honestly, I wish I could put no stars. This location totally sucked. I’ve been to other locations and have loved it. But this time, it took 15 minutes after being seated for a server to even come take our drink orders, and it took forever to get anything there. Most of the time she was just standing there talking to other coworkers too. It was very annoying and frustrating. I will never go back.

The food is usually good, but when you have to wait for someone to serve you that all goes out the door. Or when you’ve been seated for a while, and someone else is seated and gets served before you! Yea, not cool. Food good, service, not so good! Hopefully tonight will be better! Last chance!

Steak ‘n Shake as a whole is a pretty good company, but this location needs some work. The lady working the drive thru had no people skills. On my chocolate fudge shake they used chocolate syrup instead of fudge (not the same), the hamburger they used was in pieces on my burger, and when I bit into an onion ring there was something orange and gooey in it.
I used to live in this area and would frequent this Steak ‘n Shake often because I liked it, but after this experience I don’t think I’ll go back to this location.

We will not come back to this location. It was the worst service we’ve seen. We came in with a coupon for my cousin’s birthday. They wouldn’t accept it without a printed copy. Most people I know don’t use printers since everything is now available on a smartphone. Why send coupons to a mobile device if you require a printed copy?
They didn’t offer us water and took a while to seat us. We left and will not return.

I grew up on Steak N’ Shake and the one by me has become my late-​night date-​night spot with the wife. I think the majority of Steak N’ Shakes are 24/​hr places, unfortunately this one is not (closes at midnight).
The menu has changed a bit, with more steak burger varieties to catch on with the growing fancy burger trend. But the classics like the frisco melt and chili 5-​way still exist. Gone is the dinner option, which allowed you to pick two sides of your choosing (fries, chili, soup, salad, etc). The dinner option is now gone. In place, all burgers automatically come with the awesome shoe string potato fries. You can add a cup of chili for a about a $ 1.25 and I don’t know if there are any other side options, since the new huge menu focuses mainly on the plethora of steak burgers available.
For me, I always stick with the classic double with cheese and get a side of chili with it. Don’t forget to ask for a side of frisco sauce for your fries.
Also half priced shakes available from 2 – 4.

This is the kind of place you end up appreciating not living close by (because if you did, you’d eat there too much and die).
Steak N Shake’s style of greasy burger and doo wop shakes, are just flat out delicious. They know what they’re doing, and they continue to keep it consistent (as you’d expect from a chain). You just can’t go wrong when you’re in the mood for greasy burgers and shakes. This place will meet those needs like a champ.
I’ve always had good service from these guys; whether it’s in Indianapolis, or 61^st & Memorial, in Tulsa. Quite nice for a rare, greasy, indulgence.
