Tommy’s bar is an unassuming little bar located in a strip mall just north of 244 on Sheridan. It’s charm is in the friendly local clientele, an outdoor patio in the back — which is undergoing an expansion and renovations, and the gregarious bartender, Tommy. This is a «gay-friendly» establishment that welcomes all walks of life, so bring anybody here. There’s «Scaryoke» on the weekends where the MC chooses a song for you to sing, so don’t chicken out like I did and give it a whirl! It’s a no-frills, but fun atmosphere you can have a chill night out and maybe even meet some new friends in the process. There’s a pay-per-game pool table in the front of the bar as well so you can practice your skills while listening to someone’s rendition of Kate Bush’s «Wuthering Heights.» Drink prices are moderate with a generous pour: Bud Light $ 2.50, Crown $ 6, Jack $ 5(as if this posting). Smoking is allowed inside and on the patio. Come with some friends or even solo and make some new ones.
