I’ve been ordering from China West Express for going on 5 years now and I have loved it, but the prices have continued to increase to a point where although the food is decent there just isn’t the value to justify it. I can’t find a reason to pay an extra $ 2 – 3 per entrée and another $ 3 delivery fee on top of that. My dinner for two last night ended up being $ 55.

Love that they deliver and the food is good quality. Will continue to be my go-to place. Just one note, I feel like all of a sudden something changed with a couple of items though. I noticed the house tofu changed and this is one of my favorites and one of the main reasons I would order from China west. Not sure I will order any more. I preferred the batter on the old recipe better than their«easier» recipe. I also was ordering the honey walnut shrimp and last time it was a bit fishier than usual. Shrimp is rarely fishy so it was a bit odd. Still a good restaurant but 2 changes at the same time. Wondering if a new chef, new owners, or trying to save money.

This was the worst lunch ever. Had most popular dish to go — orange chicken. Was so old dried and petrified I could not eat it. Wasted $ 12. I would like to take it back. Don’t eat here is my review.

I was craving for some Chinese food today but didn’t want to leave my house. I was looking at Unilocal and came across this restaurant that delivers. I saw they had a wide lunch special and thought I would give them a call. Within 45 mins I got my food. Very well packed and everything was so yummy. I ordered the broccoli and beef and Mongolian beef lunch special. Came with white rice along with egg rolls and soup for 5.99/each. Very decent portions. They charged 3.00 for delivery, but honestly everyone does these days even pizza places. It was well worth it, absolutely will order again.

Got the orange beef as well as orange chicken, cream cheese wontons and two orders of chow mein. The delivery was very prompt and the food was still piping hot when it arrived. I could immediately tell they used all white meat chicken and freshly wok cooked both meat dishes. The beef and chicken were both crispy and the sauces on both were very good. I loved the noodles and the bits of bean sprouts and green onions in them. We aren’t local but it was a great last minute dinner for a lazy night in at the hotel.

We’ve been ordering delivery from here for years because it was my favorite Chinese place. I think it’s time for us to move on. The food was bland and flavorless; we had to add soy sauce and hot sauce and honestly I think that good Chinese food doesn’t need added sauces. We ordered chicken wonton soup. The blandest, most flavorless soup ever. They had some mystery meat in there that looks super gross too. We also got the tofu veggie soup. This is ok, but after the wonton soup we didn’t enjoy it. The veggie fried rice and egg rolls didn’t help their case either. So needless to say, dinner sucked.

Hello, Hubby and I had the Honey Walnut Shrimp tonight, What a surprise, we seem to always get this dish, why because it is really good. That dish alone is enough for both of us. We have also tried the Foil Wrapped Chicken which is very good also, it is an appetizer. I believe you get about 6 pieces, but don’t quote me. Why not a five star one might ask, the food is really good but I wish there was an an area that you could sit and eat in the restaurant. That is just not necessary just something I’d like. I highly recommend China West, it’s tasty food, One thing they have raised their prices two or three dollars on several items including Honey Walnut Shrimp.

Best Chinese restaurant in all of OC(authentic)! Everything I’ve tasted is amazing, but these are my favorites: orange chicken, assorted greens with shrimp and chicken chow mein. I’ve been coming here for many years, staff is super friendly and they deliver!

Crushing disappointment! My office in Tustin has been placing large orders with China West Express for years now, twice a month, sometimes more. We love the food, especially the Kung Pao Chicken! But the past 6 months has seen a change for the worse. First they raised the delivery cost from $ 2 to $ 3. Fine, we can live with that– inflation and gas prices. OK. But then they raised the prices on many menu items– food that was already pushing the limits on price. But we all felt that the food was worth it. We just ordered less often. Then they shrunk the portion size by switching to new containers. So now we had a price hike AND smaller portions! We decided we had to give them up. Just not worth it anymore. Fast forward a couple months to today. We all just couldn’t resist the craving any longer and decided to splurge. Our food arrived and all of us were shocked to see the portions had shrunk yet again! I ordered the large Kung Pao Chicken for $ 10.99, and this new container is at least a third smaller than the previously shrunk down one. It was like a small order! Co-workers who ordered the lunch specials discovered the entrée now rested in the small side of the container and the rice occupied the large side– a reversal from what they previously had done. So now the meal was like a child’s menu size. All of us are completely disgusted and fed up. Raising prices to compensate for inflation or whatever is one thing, but to raise the price AND reduce the portions TWICE in 6 months is just greed! So they once had a loyal group of customers who consistently gave them $ 50+ two to three times per month, and now they’ll not get any of our business again. Sorry China West… we are done.

Amazing delivery food! We were tired, hungry and had spent three days in Disneyland and didn’t want to go back out. I looked on Unilocal and ordered with Grubhub. We were leery of take out, but the reviews were excellent so we gave it a try. BEST decision ever. Everything was excellent, the service was quick and the portions were huge. We ordered medium entrees and were expecting medium… It was more than we could have eaten in two nights. Best Chinese since we lived in San Diego! We were thrilled and it would have been worth it for twice the price! Definitely a repeat next time we are in Anaheim!

Hired a Chinese moving company that wanted Chinese food for lunch, so I found this place hoping for something cheap and decent. Absolutely terrible. 1. They’re surprisingly expensive for Chinese food. I think Panda Express might actually be cheaper than this place. They charge $ 11-$ 14 for each dish and the to-go boxes seem somewhat small. I ended up paying close to $ 60 bucks for 5 dishes. 2. The food is DISGUSTING. I’m Chinese and I usually turn my nose up at Panda Express, but this was 100x worse. The filet we ordered was either bad, overcooked or both. The pork on the other hand was somewhat tender which makes me now wonder whether it was undercooked and I now have trichinosis. The fried rice was just doused in soy sauce and almost black from the amount they put in. If I had to decide between this and panda, I’d go with panda all day long. 3. They were slow. I was the only customer in there at 10:30am, and it took them like 25 mins to make my food with 6 cooks. I had one piece of the rotten filet and I now feel sick and nauseous. Not sure if I should throw up or not. Stay away and avoid food poisoning.

No, just no. So nasty. My dumplings were dried out, noodles undercooked and everything tasted like plastic. Got money back but never again!

PEOPLEIFYOUDON’T WANTTOGETVIOLENTLYILLSTAYAWAYFROMCHINAWESTEXPRESS!!! My daughter got violently ill with food poisoning after eating the Mongolian beef. This happened yesterday 9÷14÷15. She had severe stomach cramps, hot and cold chills, and was throwing up all night. I called today and let them know what had happened to my daughter. The owner showed no remorse. I then said the least you can do is give me back the money I paid for her meal that made her violently ill, she was reluctant to do that. When she finally agreed I then asked if she can pay the total bill of $ 18.88 but she declined and sgreed to pay $ 8.00. This food poisining has kept my daughter home in bed and unable to go to work.

I grew up in the SGV but still enjoy my Panda Express so I am not being a Chinese food snob. Probably the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I’m giving them a 2 because they deliver and were nice. Their fried rice was just soy sauce rice with some peas, carrots and chicken. Wonton soup was good but their wontons were bad. It tasted like soft paper? I could not eat more than a bite. Orange chicken was too bready and tough. Brown rice was ok. I ended up throwing everything away other than my soup.

Server was«LU» Just ordered delivery with the sauce spilt everywhere. Called management and they just blamed the delivery guy who didn’t even seem to notice the spill. He just handed the bag over as if nothing was wrong with it and tried to brush it off. Upset because we ordered food that is now messy, dirty, ruined — management did not even apologize or offer anything. The restaurant kept our money and delivered food that was spilt and damaged with sauce. I don’t know what to say about a business that runs this way, but the least I can do is warn fellow Unilocalers and avoid ever coming back here or same management ever again. Please check that everything is properly sealed next time. Also offer some compensation and don’t charge is for food that is ruined.
