Can’t say enough good things about our guy, Chris. I get blonde highlights and a cut and he gives my husband the best cut, every time. His consistently excellent work is priceless. The salon has a good vibe and great owners. Parking is easy too.

Okay, so here’s the thing… Chris McCabe is a hair genius! First to preface, I am very particular about my hair. My hair is my baby and I’m very cautious to let just anyone touch it. Sooooo I went in, with a dark auburn color wanting to go light for summer. I told him I wanted to go blonde without actually being blonde (if that even makes sense, but somehow he understood). He gave me these incredible highlights, but I didn’t quite know it just yet. I went home and something was missing… I called Chris back a few days later and told him it wasn’t quite what I imagined. I have VERY straight and body-​less hair therefore the highlights didn’t really stand out. Chris asked if I had ever thought about a perm, which I had, but people had always talked me out of it. Chris sat me down and discussed what getting a perm would do for me and what I would have to do to style it, and gave me the confidence to do it! Me, a 21yr old now has a perm and I’m absolutely loving it! The highlights are perfect and I’m so in love with the volume and body that my hair now has. My hair has this awesome beachy wave with so much texture! It better fits my personality and is so much fun! Chris is an absolute GENIUS and I don’t want anyone else to ever touch my hair. Watch out ladies, Chris is bringing back the perm!
Chris also does a really good job at educating you about your hair. My hair is pretty fine, and when I came into him-​very dry and damaged. He explained how this happens and showed me how to properly comb out my hair (who knew after all these years I was doing it wrong?). He gave me a deep conditioning and it is now so healthy!

For me, I’m not always sure what I want (other than for it to be low-​maintenance, versatile, and easy to manage) or what might look best on me, but the great thing about Chris is that he has a clear creative vision of what works and he’s always mindful of bringing out the best in his clients.
At my first session, I walked in with hair down to my waist and a picture of Katie Holmes’ medium layered bob for her 2009 cover of Elle Magazine, not exactly sure what to expect. But I felt at ease when Chris took the time to analyze the texture of my hair, the way it naturally falls, my skin tone, my face shape, and over complexion (and who knows what else) to come up with a great hairstyle that really suits me.
I can trust Chris to cut, color, and style my hair to bring out a more beautiful, feminine, and sexy version of myself, and I even love my haircut and color weeks after my session with him. I still get tons of compliments from my friends, family, coworkers, and anyone else around me, but that’s just a testament to the great work from Chris and his passion for hair.

Let me just start by saying that Chris truly is a color genius. I was blonde when I first started going to Chris but the shade of blonde was just not complimenting my skin tone, but beyond that I wasn’t sure what to do. He listened to my concerns and that very apppointment not only did he fix my color to a warmer shade he took the extra time and added some highlights and lowlights that just made everything come together and really pop!
I LOVE contrast and changing up my hair so since then, we’ve gone to a dark brown with auburn highlights for fall and a lighter shade of blonde before that. I’m so blessed to have come accross Chris and would recommend him to anyone who wants quality work and true artistry! He’s the best!

I just moved to Tustin from south county. I had been loyally seeing someone for nine years, but I just couldn’t do the drive down south. I stumbled into J Ludwig and met Chris McCabe. He told me he had just moved from LA and had been in the business for a long time. I have no qualms about spending money on my hair when it’s worth it. I thought I would give him a shot, as he was super personable and confident. I went in for color, as I had not treated my hair in about five months. Chris said he was a genius with color, and I was anxious to see if he was right.
I actually did not have a clear idea of what I wanted; I just knew I wanted a fresh look. Well, my dark, summer beaten, dry hair turned out looking like I was Eva Mendez. I am not joking. My hair is the best color I have EVER had it. It looks so natural, even though Chris highlighted it. I am olive complected, and I usually wear my hair very dark. Chris made my hair the most beautiful caramel color, and my skin looks so good with it. My husband absolutely loves not only the color, but the sexy cut. I am so incredibly pleased, and it was worth every penny.
I will definitely be making this my new salon. Hands down, Chris is the man!

Best hair coloring I have ever had. He did exactly what I asked for. I have blonde hair and my dark roots were coming in so he gave me a full set of highlights so my hair matches all over! I love it! I can’t wait to go back :)
