Crunch

I have been a member at Crunch for just over a year. This place has such a great community and I love coming here. They just recently added Camp Crunch, which is a small group class (no more than 15 people). After doing personal training for seven months these classes have been a great way to help maintain what I’ve learned. I love how there are so many different classes and exercises to keep it interesting. My favorite classes are Core Crush, X-​Treme, and Fit to Fight. All the trainers that run those classes are awesome and you won’t be disappointed!
To top it off, the front desk staff and trainers are all super approachable and friendly and can answer all your questions.

Very happy to have a Crunch close to my new job. People are very friendly, staff as well (and cute), and everyone is really considerate. People who re-​rack their weights says a lot about a gym community.
May get crowded at times, but there are plenty of other alternatives.
I absolutely love the two isolated squat racks and the giant rig. That’s something 24 and LA don’t offer.
Happy to be coming here. I believe the basic membership is $ 10. They really should be charging $ 20.

I love this gym. I used to have Gold’s Gym but the staff wasn’t very friendly and billing was a huge pain the the butt. I have the cheapest membership because that is all I really need. Classes just don’t do it for me like they used to. The staff here is super friendly and the gym never smells gross. I come at off peak hours so maybe that’s why? The weekends are pretty dead here as well. You do have to bring your own towel, but I being a germaphobe don’t mind that at all. Also, if you’re here to be a hoochie, you can take you bootie shorts and go to 24 hr fitness, they have a dress code and you gotta be fully clothed. Anyways I like coming here few times a week and don’t plan on cancelling anytime soon.

I have been coming to this location for the past couple of months and at first was happy with it. First I will say this is a small location. They get packed during peek hours and makes it hard to get on equipment around 5 – 8. So if you want to workout you need to get in before or after these times. They also close early on the weekends so don’t plan on trying to get a workout in after 7.
Another thing if you want to use the tanning bed better be sure you have your goggles because they make a stink about showing them before you tan. It’s a stupid policy if you sign a paper saying you wave all rights to the facility and the staff being accountable and you know what a tanning bed does then why harass a member? I can still have them and not use the things. I’m not a child and do not need to be baby sat.
Also I would be weary of the cancellation policy. I went to the corporate site and ALL the complaints were on over charging members and not canceling policies. And this is happening all over. It seems to be a huge company wide issue, and doesn’t seem as easy to cancel as what you are told up front.
It is clean, the staff aside from pissing me off about the goggles is friendly. My daughter works out there all the time and enjoys it. I do however have a lot of concerns if I ever need to cancel my membership since the both of our memberships are under my bank account. I would possibly suggest paying cash and not with a credit card or your debit card. I am having regrets since I have seen so many reviews on issues with canceling.

The staff at this location are very friendly and helpful. The manager was very proactive in helping me to switch over from a different home gym location. I have done a few classes and enjoyed them all… I tried weekend Zumba with my Mom to encourage her to exercise and that class gets crowded so definitely go early! Otherwise, I have not had any issues with arriving a few minutes before start time for classes.

Friendly staff; Staff is also considerate about your goals. Personal trainers kick ass. Would definitely keep coming back

Super sick equipment and not to mention turf. I love the fact that they have Olympic weights makes it a lot easier to do Olympic lifts

The best gym around, in my opinion. A bargain for every piece of gym equipment you need, plus awesome classes! The staff and instructors are fantastic! I haven’t taken a class there that I haven’t loved, but Zumba is my favorite, of course. Try it! You will not be disappointed.

I wish I had found this gym sooner! I never liked to go to gyms before because I was always felt uncomfortable, but the staff at Crunch is welcoming and kind. The have a great variety of gym equipment and classes. I highly recommend this gym!

This is the best gym in Tustin! All the staff are amazing and push you to your limits! At 5 it’s a little crowded but equipment usually becomes available quickly. I would recommend this gym to beginners or more advanced fitness junkies!

Best gym ever! It’s pretty busy, but there is a ton of equipment. The people here are so friendly, and I love coming here and feeling welcome! I always leave in a good mood. There’s a ton of different options to work out, and they have classes going on ²⁴⁄₇. Super clean, and the best part, super cheap! The staff here are awesome, especially Marvin at the front desk! Always greeted with a smile and they go out of their way to talk with you!

Mario, Stella and Rachel are awesome individual along with the entire staff at Crunch. I love the entire team they are always willing to assist and the are so friendly. You are always greated with smiles and a friendly hello!
The facility is clean and they have all the equipment to allow you to take control of your fitness goals.

Amazing gym for an amazing price! For only $ 25 a month i get access along with free guest access everytime i come in, unlimited fitness group classes, tanning beds AND hydro massages everytime. Not to mention the staff here is great, always welcome you with your name and smiles. Daniel quickly learned my name and address it every single time and helps out with whatever questions i have. Marvin as well is great. This gym is always clean and plenty of machines where you dont have to fight over free weights/​machines. Great great gym, glad i switched over from la/​24fitness!

Generally helpful, however one of the girls there when asked to change a tv channel gave a response, «when I have time» was preening her hair and flirting with another employee at the desk. This was more important than customer service. I’m a business owner… Watch who you hire, they represent the core value of the business at all times, it’s a fact.

This gym is a bit small, but it’s local and has everything I need. I let my membership expire at 24 hr. fitness.
A great thing about Crunch is all the lovely ladies. I hang at Starbucks and would see them going for a beverage after the workout. Who knows, perhaps I might find a workout buddy. I need someone to help whip me in shape and see that I eat healthy.
Like other gyms they have several classes. I may check into one later. There are two tanning rooms and a hydro massage bed. The loker room is a bit small but most people don’t use it so finding a locker is no problem.

This gym is ultimately the most welcoming and motivating place! EVERYONE here are welcoming (knows you by name!) & friendly. If you are a beginner or a regular gym-​goer, you need to come to Crunch Tustin!
I particularly recommend the personal training. I use to be a cardio only person (meaning walking on the treadmill/​elliptical for 30 min. and calling it a workout)…I never would imagine how personal training changed my outlook in health and fitness, let alone my confidence! I’m stronger, happier, less stress and made fitness part of my routine! The trainers are motivating, friendly (please do not be intimidated, they are genuinely here to help and happy to answer your questions!), and customize the workout to meet YOUR goals. They push you to your limit (non-​aggressively, of course!) — making you realize how strong you really are! After personal training, I really love strength training! It’s something I never thought I’d be able to do and now it’s part of my routine!
If you’re not ready for one-​on-​one personal training, there is also the group classes and CAMP CRUNCH! I LOVE Camp Crunch, you get the taste of personal training in a group setting! It’s fun, challenging, and you get your sweat on with your new gym friends! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying this!
Another plus is that this gym is very clean, in comparison to the other chains.
There is absolutely no judgement here! You come in, you do your workout… that’s it! There are rules in any/​all gyms (i.e.towels, no bags on the floor, gym attire) — but they are rules for safety and hygiene — that part is not personal, it’s business.

Crunch is a little cramped, but what you get for the price is such a great value. During peak hours (6−8pm) it is a little crowded, but not so much that you’re left waiting very long for any machine.
Basic membership is only $ 10/​month, and with Peak Plus $ 25/​month you can bring a guest and get to use the hydromassage.
Pros:
++ There are 2 flat benches, an incline bench, and 3 squat racks (2 can be used as a deadlift area) so there’s usually not too much of a wait on any of those.
+ Equipment is clean and still looks new. Same with the bathrooms.
+ They have punching bags and monkey bars if you want to add some variation to your workout.
+/​-​Music can be hit or miss. Some days it’s ALL the same EDM, on other days there’s a good mixture of mixes.
+/​-​They have a little straightaway turf track which is nice for sprints or HIIT activities, BUT it’s usually occupied by group classes at night.
Cons:
— During peak hours, you can really tell how cramped Crunch is. It isn’t terrible, but you notice how they squeeze so much equipment into a medium sized gym.
Overall, you’ll get all the standard amenities of a 24hour or LA fitness, but all at the price of a Chuze or Planet fitness membership. I haven’t taken any personal training/​group classes, so I can’t speak on those. However if you’re going just to do your own thing, I’d definitely recommend Crunch.

My bf and I came for a 1 day trial (our pass said 3 days but the worker made it adamantly clear we could only come for one day). The place is small and cramped. I know their motto is «no judgements» but I definitely felt as if we were being judged left and right by workers/​personal trainers.
And to top it off, apparently they have a dress code? My bf wears cut out tees to work out so they’re not so constricting and that’s just what he likes to wear, but one of the workers actually came up to him during his set and told him he has to change.
Why would I want to go to a gym where I can’t wear what I want? And be judged for it???

Crunch gyms claim to fame is their «No Judgements» philosophy, however I’ve never felt more judged at a gym than at Crunch!
First, the facility is ok. Its pretty cramped for a gym, and if theres a class in session there really isnt anywhere to do mat exercises. Its clean but I think thats because the membership roster is so low. Its definitely not worth more than the 10 bucks a month membership.
There are only 2 showers in the womens locker room.
Now heres the judgy part: I wanted to use the Hydromassage after my workout. The girl at the front desk (her shirt said «Personal Trainer») said «we ask that you shower first». I said «I did shower» she goes «Well youre still sweaty» «We want the equipment to stay clean and sanitary». My first thought was are you serious? This is a gym. Theres sweat everywhere. Furthermore, you can change the cover on the machine and they have spray and paper towels in the room with the bed.
The fact is she was just being a jerk. So I’m all «Ok then I’ll just downgrade my membership. Its not worth it to me if I cant use that machine». She then tells me theres a $ 20.00 charge. Thats when I told her forget it, I just want to cancel. So she said ok and then mysteriously the system goes down. She said sorry I cant cancel you, our system is down. Then I asked her how people check in (while watching someone on the other side of the counter checking someone in!).
This place is only worth 10 bucks a month, and thats only if its convenient. Your extra added bonus is that they will TOTALLY judge you.
