As soon as you finish reading this review, stop everything you are doing and just HIRE CANDICE. Honestly, there is not any doubt in my mind that you will be so so happy you made this decision to hire Engaged Events. I spent weeks researching different wedding planners across the OC — reading reviews, conducting phone/​skype interviews, following up on references, etc. and as soon as I talked to Candice, I knew my search was over!
I was living in Ohio at the time and knew that I needed a planner to make my OC wedding a reality so I hired Candice for the full planning services. As many of the other reviews will tell you, she is organized, professional, incredibly warm and friendly, detail-​oriented, everything you’d need and expect in a wedding coordinator. However, what sets Candice apart from the others is that she truly CARES about you and your fiancé and not only making the planning process easy for you, but making it fun and enjoyable and stress free.
A perfect example of how wonderful she is would be the day that she planned for us to visit 5 wedding venues. I had many vague ideas on what I wanted, all across the board, with lots of different thoughts and considerations that I sent to her. I brought along my parents and my in laws for the entire day. And I knew nothing about the geographic area. Somehow Candice took everything that I said I wanted and executed the perfect venue search — helping me narrow down exactly what I had envisioned, while carefully taking other details into consideration (# of wedding guests, budget, etc). At the end of the day, she left myself, my fiancé, and all four of the parents feeling extremely happy that we had her to guide us! We all fell in love with Candice and to this day we all truly consider her a great friend. The 16 months we worked together all were wonderful — I wish I could do it again! Cross this decision off your list and just call Engaged Events now!

Having Candice as my day-​of-​wedding coordinator was one of the GREATEST decisions that I made. She was the BEST and I am not exaggerating. For weddings, you expect things to not go according to plan or to be a stressful bride on the day of. But with Candice, you will see that things WILL go according to plan and that you will NOT be stressed on your wedding day. I had such a great time and this was largely because of Candice.
From the initial meeting, I knew she was ‘the one.’ (haha!) She is so approachable, kind, and friendly, answering the various questions you have. She is quick to reply to your emails and texts. And she is on top of everything! She gave me a list of to-​dos (I don’t miss those!), always emailed me reminders, and on both the rehearsal and wedding day, she was SPLENDID. She guided us (bridal party, officiant, & family members) on all the steps that had to be carried out, instantly putting everyone at ease. She also has a timeline and details document that she has from the beginning and she updates it constantly as you find out new information. And these two documents are SUPER important because they give a detailed outline on what is going on with your wedding (even the little details you never thought of or the things happening behind the scene).
One detail that especially sticks out is that my photographers were Korean speaking only. And they were not listening to Candice at times, especially when she told them pictures had to be temporarily stopped because it was time for the ceremony. Even though this happened, Candice kept such a positive attitude. She was patient and always respectful. And I will always remember how encouraging she was towards a fearful and stressed out bride. Thank you Candice so much for all that you done for this special day. I am seriously even getting emotional as I am writing this review and thinking about all that Candice did for me. She’s great!!! Having her as your wedding coordinator will be one of the best decisions you will make!!!

Jen Alvarez from Engaged Events was a blessing. My wife and I wanted to plan the wedding ourselves, but it became such an overwhelming task that we finally gave in to getting a coordinator (through our venue — The Hotel Maya). They gave us the information for Engaged Events. We didn’t call right away due to our hesitation that they wouldn’t share our vision of the wedding, but we met Jen at the taste testing and we felt very comfortable with her right away. From that day, Jen has been in complete control of our wedding. She was on top of every detail and deadline. It was a huge relief being able to pass that on to someone. Jen responded to every call, every email and every text right away. We never had to worry about anything. She made our vision become a reality, and we could not thank her enough. During the wedding, she was right on top of things and made sure that everything was going according to plan. From the moment we agreed to work with her, she took all the hassle away from the wedding planning. Her efforts were priceless. We would recommend her and Engaged Events. Again, we can not thank Jen enough for being there for us.

I am a lighting vendor who Candice recently referred to one of her clients. She was very timely with getting back to me with any questions I had. She was easy to communicate with and helpful with all the questions I had as a wedding vendor. When I meet her at the location she was super friendly and greeted me with a warm smile. She was a pleasure to work with and I hope to work with her in the future!

I had my wedding about 3 months ago. For my venue at the Newport Beach Marriott, they require you to have a day of wedding coordinator. I read reviews about the preferred wedding coordinators provided by the venue and decided to choose Candice based on price/​reviews and the fact that she had been an events manager at the Newport Beach Marriott so she was familiar with the venue/​staff.
Let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions I had made for my wedding. Candice and her team are so awesome even for only a day of coordinator. Part of me wishes I had her the whole time for my wedding. She is quick by email and as a day of coordinator she begins to help you out with your wedding about 6 – 8 weeks prior to the day. She meets with you twice before the wedding and has a thorough checklist to go through the wedding with you. The checklist she goes over with you touches on things that you probably wouldn’t think of for a wedding so good thing Candice is there!
My wedding had around 240 people and I did a lot of DIY stuff. Candice and her team were able to envision almost everything I wanted for my wedding. I don’t know how she does it.
The only mishaps I had about the wedding were that she sometimes she was so busy running around for my wedding, that sometimes it took awhile to get her or her team to my room when I needed something done and some minor things were overlooked at the wedding such as some of my boutonnieres not getting placed on people that they were supposed to and some miscommunication with my wedding timeline and speeches because she was so busy.
She did an awesome job coordinating with all my vendors and emailing them and for the most part keeping us on track for the wedding.
Looking back, I would have hired her even if the venue didn’t require it.

I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful Candice and her event planning team was for our July 12, 2014 wedding. We found Candice through our venues preferred vendor list and couldn’t have been happier to find such a dedicated hard-​working coordinator! We worked with her for a year and a half on our wedding and all the little details that brought everything together. Additionally, she helped us with the candy bar labeling as well as the signage, painting the design on our aisle runner, and setting up our memory table.
On the day of the wedding I felt like a princess. She had 2 assistants and they all took care of everything. Throughout the day/​night she reminded me what to do to ensure the night went perfect. Anything I needed they took care of. I’m actually really sad all the planning is over, because we won’t see Candace anymore! I felt like she was part of the family!
Candice is so generous and caring. She really took the time to get to know what was important to us. We can’t thank her enough for all the hard work she put into our special day.
Also an added bonus, she and her staff decorated our wedding suite that evening. It was such a lovely touch and so sweet to do!

Candice Sanders and the Events by Candice team made my rehearsal and wedding day perfect. I wanted the day to be stress free that is why I insisted on a wedding planner.
From the first meeting with Candice I felt we connected and she gave me her undivided attention. She made me feel like I was her only wedding and a top priority. I was very meticulous with my details and I fully trusted her to make it all come together. She listen to my wants, thought of all the small details I didn’t think of and didn’t miss anything. We met a few times; emails and she contacted all my vendors a few days before and sent out the schedule of events to make sure we were always on the same page. I usually like to control everything and I felt 100% comfortable letting her handle it.
On the day of the wedding I was given the best treatment, she had 2 assistants and she took care of everything. My event was on schedule, she reminded me what to do throughout the evening to ensure the night went without a hitch. Anything I needed she took care of, including pinning up my dress countless times after the bustle broke.
My wedding was a magical evening and we are so thankful to have the help of Events by Candice apart of the day. I highly recommend her to any bride to be!

Candice and her team is amazing. team of three of them coordinated my wedding and she was so on top of every little detail. She was involved in the planning before hand, made great recommendations, kept track of vendors, told them where to be and when.
She is organized and simply put great at what she does.

I’ve worked with hundreds of wedding coordinators, and Candice is truly one of the best. She was the matron of honor AND coordinator at her best friend’s wedding! Don’t worry, she had assistants :) Brides should realize that a top-​notch planner will not only help you prepare for & get through your big day, but also work well with the other vendors at your wedding. I see what goes on behind the scenes, and Candice really has every quality you could hope for in a planner– optimistic, friendly & professional personality, ridiculously organized, and anticipates what is needed before it is actually needed. You truly get what you pay for in this business, and trust me, skimping on a coordinator (or God forbid, not even hiring one) can pretty much guarantee an unorganized & more stressful wedding day. I’ve seen Candice faced with difficult decisions & situations at multiple weddings & she takes care of the problem without her clients even knowing. She’s a true professional & just an all around lovely person.

Candice is on the top of my lists for best wedding planners. As a caterer and event producer, I cant say enough how difficult it is to find a vendor who not only performs their job flawlessly, but has an incredible attitude throughout the process. I barely had to lift a finger doing anything outside of my jurisdiction, which is a rarity in our industry. Her team is well organized and great team players. Our couple was absolutely thrilled about her as much as we were.
I wouldnt think twice about giving her a call. I really cant say enough how much a professional and personable wedding planner for your big day. After all, shes going to become your best friend and your backbone for the next year to the biggest day of your life thus far. Thanks for being such a hard worker, Candice! It shows in the beauty of your events and the strength of your team! Cant wait to work together again!

I can’t even begin to explain how incredible Candice is, but I’m certainly going to try! We had 206 people at our multi-​cultural wedding, with 11 groomsmen and 10 bridesmaids, and a tight budget. With that many people involved, chaos and disaster are inevitable. But she is the main reason our day went off without a hitch!
I discovered Candice back in March of 2012, after stumbling on her own wedding photos online and realizing her taste was almost identical to mine. After meeting her, I knew IMMEDIATELY that we were a match made in heaven! She is fun, COOL, and so easy to talk to! Plus, she had coordinated Persian weddings in the past and knew what to expect with regards to our ceremony. I booked her 18 months before the big day!
Candice helped me pick our venue, suggested the perfect florist for my budget, made sure I understood what was written in every contract, and helped through my panic attacks. A few weeks before the wedding she went over everything with me to make sure I didn’t forget anything on the big day. She created a day-​of timeline for me and made sure our vendors knew where to be and when to be there.
On the big day, I was excited and anxious. It was hard to believe that almost 2 years of planning were coming to end and that my dream wedding was here at last. Candice took care of EVERYTHING. She had two assistants with her who were super sweet! She picked up everything from our suite and magically had it all ready well before the ceremony began. The rest is history — our ceremony and reception were gorgeous. I couldn’t have done this without her, and I know that no one else would have understood my vision the way she did.
What I love most about Candice is that she is so generous and caring. She really took the time to get to know what was important to me and is just so talented. I’ll never be able to thank her enough for all the hard work she put into this day. Candice, we are so grateful for everything you did for us!

Candice was such an extreme pleasure to work with. She is sunny, sweet, organized & thinks of stuff I don’t even think of. She responds quickly via text or email. We don’t know what we would have done without her. She even goes the extra mile, stopping by my hotel on the big day, just to see if everyone was doing okay. Her assistants were also terrific & very helpful. They made sure my groom & I were fed & that we didn’t miss out on anything. She was the seam that held it all together on our special day. If we had to do it over again, I would choose Candice!
