This place is the worst. They are not professional and the manager is not even approachable to talk to. Went to get my car smogged and was told that since it had recently been serviced it wasn’t ready to be smogged and that I had to go drive it around for 20 – 30 miles. Given it was not ready I don’t think I should have been charged the $ 50. I complained and was told that next time they would give me a discount, Terrible terrible customer service. Do NOT recommend

I was referred to Galaxy Auto by the gentleman at Arco, who said they could help me with the nail in my tire. Not only did they fix my tire, they also fixed my break light-​All within 20 minutes!!! They were also closing shop too, and took my car last minute. Nick at the front desk was super awesome and make the whole process super easy and quick. Christian and Fernando took care of the car projects at the same time, and it was returned back to me within 15 minutes. I sincerely thank these gentleman AND for their speedy assurance, as I had a midterm to attend within the hour. I feared I would have to wait an hour+ for these tasks to be done, and I was in and out with time to spare for my midterm. Thank you so much Galaxy for fixing my tire and for your speedy assistance!

The folks at Galaxy are all first rate. I have been going there for close to 20 years, and through all my cars and my wife’s cars and my kids’ cars, they are as honest as you will find. The repairs are reasonably priced, and they are pretty much right on with their estimates and delivery times. I send everyone I know that way because it is so hard to find an honest mechanic. They have sent me away without doing repairs I thought I needed but turned out was okay. I would recommend them to anyone looking for honest repair work at a very competitive price.

I used to go to Star Auto (the AAMCO on Newport and Mitchell), but 1) they melted the paint on my car while they were servicing it, and 2) the last time I called them, they were so rude to me that I hung up. A formerly great place that appears to have fallen for its own hype.
So then I try Galaxy Automotive. From the start, their estimates are honest, and they really go out of their way to get you the best deal (they actually searched around for the lowest price they could get me on a fuel pump that I was told by another place I needed; turned out, upon inspection by Galaxy, I was told I didn’t need a fuel pump at all). They not only installed a new headlight bulb; they fixed the headlight (it kept shutting off) for no additional charge. These guys are fast, and very, very efficient. I just love them.
I now take my car in for everything from tune-​ups to brakes. I won’t go anywhere else. Close to everything delicious (Cream Pan, 7 Leaves), so you can walk around and get some good eats while you wait.

These guys have been servicing my family’s cars for years — from Jaguar sports cars to domestic family sedans.

They said oil drain plug was stripped. Told them that they had done the previous oil change. Suddenly it was not stripped. RIP OFF EXPERTS. Will inform Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). DO NOT PATRONIZE

Galaxy Automotive has been servicing my cars for 10+ years. They are *consistent* about providing an accurate quote. (maybe a couple times they’ve been off by $ 5?) If they find a new problem, they always call first and get authorization. If something ‘can wait’, they’ll let you know. I’ve worked with Adrian and Daniel many times. I can’t say enough wonderful things about them. In today’s world, TRUST means everything in business. I trust them 100%.

Never never… go to this place they are RIP-​OFFS!!! In the past I have always taken my cars there for repairs as long as I can remember. They were always curtious, plesant, and honest. I have not been there in a while and took my car in to have it diagnosed and left it over night. I knew what was wrong with it, but since they WERE my mechanics I took it there to have them diagnose it. Well they called with a story stating I needed a whole new engine!!! They had it over night and never even took a diagnostics test on it they went by what I said and from there it is all down hill. Well the good news is all it needed was an oil change and its all done and fixed no more problems and don’t need a new engine. So I give NO STARS FOR THIS PLACE!!! I had to give it a star in order to post.

Went in to get my tire patched and it was done within 5 minutes. Only cost $ 10 and it was a lift time guarantee. Fast. Cheap. Simple.

These guys are honest and will work with you. I’ve brought 5 different older cars here and they always take care of me. My recent visit was for my sons brake job. They explained everything, and gave me the best and worst case scenario up front:)

So happy with the service here! Took my car in the other day for an oil change and some ‘potential’ maintenance including a funny sound, brakes and struts. They said they’d have an estimate in an hour — and they did! Called me to say oil change was done and told me recommended services and estimates as well as some services I didn’t need. I agreed to what I was able to do for that day and they got started. My car was back to me in just another couple hours and I paid exactly what they estimated.

Very disappointed in their service. My fan was not turning on and my car was overheating, I took it in to have it looked at. They took 2 days to find the problem. They ended up fixing the fan but they ruined my electrical system in the process. Now my wind shield wipers don’t work. When I took it back the next day. They said the wind shield wipers not working was caused by something else. They wouldn’t even admit that it was their shitty work that caused my new problem. Now I have to pay someone else to fix it. I would never go back and neither should anyone else.

Called to schedule an appointment for smog testing. Was informed to just drop in for test with no appointment needed. Arrived approximately 30 minutes later and car was tested almost immediately although the lot looked full. I was informed that testing could take 30 – 40 min, they had the job complete in 25 min for the quoted price. Very professional and fast, my results were posted to the DMV by the time I returned to work. Great job Galaxy.

I’m going to admit that I originally stopped going here because I thought I got ripped off, what happened was a misdiagnosis for my vehicle from the dealership. I had them work on my car for all the wrong reasons, and not only did they tell me the dealership made a mistake but they only did what work they felt was necessary at the time but I had convinced myself that they ripped me off. This was several years ago, and when I finally sold my car the new owner had called me up and asked me about the same particular issue, so I had him call Galaxy and they were a big help.
I guess it happens when you don’t know much about cars, I never filed a complaint but I stopped taking my vehicle after the incident. I should have trusted them at the time because I ended up actually getting ripped off by the dealership. From my experience at Galaxy, I have never been lied to or had to wait long for the work to be done.
When I did take my vehicle there years ago, I was told to have it diagnosed by a few places and ask for estimates. Galaxy was the last place, which was referred by a friend so I took it there last. Not only did they tell me I didn’t need some of the work the other places said done, they told me to keep track of the mileage and worry about those things around that time.
When they told me my vehicle would be ready by a certain time, it was done. They charge fair prices and keep in communication with their customers very well. There was even a time when I got an oil change here, I had mentioned to the worker that I bought new windshield wipers and he put them on for free.
It’s those little things I remember that make me feel they’re good to all of their customers and want you to be able to trust them. I’ve had bad experiences with the dealership, Jiffy Lube and Pep Boys but I’ve never had a problem with Galaxy. These guys do a good job at a very respectable speed.

I went to Galaxy Automotive to get an inspection on a car I wanted to buy. They told me the car had a leaking head gasket which required a $ 2,200 repair. They told me the repair would be absolutely necessary in the near future to avoid serious engine problems. They also showed me coolant build up on the outside of the gasket.
The car’s owner told me he had taken the car to the dealership recently. They told him everything was fine and he couldn’t imagine this being a problem. I agreed to settle it with him by getting the gasket tested by another mechanic of my choosing. We had the head gasket compression tested at another shop. They found that the gasket had no leaks. They also checked for leaked coolant in the engine and found none. They explained that the coolant build-​up was completely normal as it is impossible to design a gasket with a perfect seal. They seemed to think anyone with a knowledge of cars should have been aware of that.
While this may have just been an honest mistake, I do get the feeling that we were being cheated since the mechanic at Galaxy offered to drop the price of the inspection from the repair cost if we did the repairs there.
I do not recommend this place.

This was referred by another smog test station that did not have their technician available so I decided to give it a shot. Can’t complain, $ 58 for a smog test and $ 48 for an oil change (synthetic) is good enough for me. They didn’t even try to sell me on the oil change just that I needed one so I just had them do it for me. All in all a great experience!

This place is the best! I always feel they are honest and get the job done right and in good time and fair price too. I drive all the way from Long Beach to get my VW serviced because I trust this place that much :)

I have been going here for 2 years but encountered a problem a year ago. I got my struts done but began hearing noise months later. I told them about the problem but the front guy said that they couldn’t hear the noise. I decided to get another opinion somewhere else and they said that the struts galaxy used were refurbished and not recommended at all. Now I have to replace them after 1 year. I can’t believe I trusted galaxy for 2 years with my car! Never again.
