Kboby Healthy Grill is located between Thai Bamboo Bistro and Claire’s at The District. This eatery offers a simple kabob menu with meaty and meatless choices including beef, chicken, salmon, and vegetarian. Last weekend, David E. suggested we eat here after catching a matinée showing of «Super 8.» We both ordered the chicken kabob combo plate. Ordering at Kboby is a three-step process:(1) You make your kabob selection(e.g., beef kabob),(2) You choose how to dress up your kabob by selecting a salad, sandwich, or combo plate, and(3) You choose your dipping sauces — I decided on Yogurt Cucumber sauce for my chicken kabob and Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing for my salad. Our meal was served with sides of Basmati rice, pita bread, and a mixed green salad. Result: absolutely delicious. The food is packed with a flavorful punch to the digestive tract. We’re talking a plethora of ingredients here. Eat here if you’re looking for a tasty, inexpensive(ridiculously inexpensive — chicken kebab combo plate was $ 6.99 if I’m remembering correctly) meal of epic portions. Up until recently, I thought the only, or rather CORRECT, way to eat a kabob was to pry food off the bamboo skewer with your teeth. I remember as a kid I would always refuse the kabobs at family BBQs in fear of accidentally stabbing the roof of my mouth with the«gigantic toothpick thingy.» Did you know proper shish kabob etiquette calls for the use of a fork to remove the food from the skewers before eating?(See .) I just saved you from looking like a Neanderthal at the next shish kabob dinner party you attend. You’re welcome. And let us discuss for a minute the various ways of spelling kabob. There are at least nine other spelling variants to my knowledge: kebab, kebap, kabab, kebob, kabob, kibob, kebhav, kephav, kebabie. Kabob-Eating Etiquette. Cool band name!
