Once Upon a Storybook is a unique children’s bookstore that features the best in classic & contemporary children’s literature. We also have great events for families and children, including three weekly storytimes. When children come in, they can enjoy reading or playing in our reading cubbies or searching for our fairy door. Parents and grandparents can expect expert guidance in children’s literature, plus complementary gift wrap! Our craft & party room is also available to rent for private events.

History

Established in 2014.

We opened in the fall of 2014, after three years of preparation and research. The owner has 20+ years of experience in educational publishing and lesson planning.

My 2 year old and 4 year old love coming to Once Upon a Storybook. It is so nice to have a place to take them where they can play and read. You will not be disappointed with this book store. Everything for young readers baby to teenage.

I had the pleasure of meeting Susie and her fabulous team of ladies a few times! Their customer service is always perfect and they make you feel like you are right at home. I love this book store. It reminds me of all of my magical childhood days! They hold wonderful events for kids that you do not want to miss. I send ALL of my friends with children here. It truly is a magical place!

I love this store! I’ve described it to friends as «a magical realm of reading delights,» and I really think it’s true. From the moment you see the literary signpost and the carefully decorated front window, you realize that this is a store that delights in books and children. There are an amazing number of little «extras» packed into this space. There’s a train table. There are reading nooks with pillows and beanbags. There’s a little «fairy door» on the wall by the staircase. My 2 ½ year old loves to visit for storytime or just to browse, and I’m so thankful that this place exists for her! The staff is friendly and helpful, and they’ve highlighted several wonderful books for our home and for gifts. I really can’t say enough about this lovely shop.

Stopped in for the first time last night looking for the not-​so-​common bilingual books «Lil Libros». It is a super cute storefront with very friendly and attentive service. I was even able to have my books gift wrapped at no extra charge. One book I wanted was not in stock however she advised that I could be contacted by phone as soon as it arrives. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience from start to finish. I will definitely return in the future and would recommend this store to friends and family.

Just stopped in while out exploring the area, as I’ve just started working in a building close by. So excited to have found this place. Not only is it adorable, but they have so many great books to choose from for all ages. I asked about a book about garbage trucks for my son, and without hesitation or looking at a computer, Tina was able to locate and tell me about 3 – 4 different options. I will be back and I look forward to bringing my son to one of their events.

This adorable store is a delight. It’s thoughtfully arranged, clean, decorated beautifully and imaginatively (the fairy door!), and had a variety of books for ages infant — YA. Susie the Story Lady greeted me soon after I arrived and made sure I had help with anything I needed. I visited on a Friday and arrived just in time to see a mini concert upstairs by a local singer/​songwriter, Daniel Nahmod, who performed a lovely set for a few other parents and their kids. I didn’t get to explore the store as much as I wanted because my baby was getting fussy, but I found a nice little board book and Susie took care of my purchase with the same friendliness as if I were buying much more. I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommended for anyone who buys books for kids. Skip Barnes & Noble and go here first. It’s worth it.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Susie, at the mommy and me group, Mom & Tot OC. She truly is a doll! She was the guest speaker and the moms and toddlers absolutely adored her!
She had so many great ideas on reading to my kids. I have taken her advice and I’v been reading to them several times a day and bought a variety of board books with different colors and textures.
She has a very inspiring story and is truly passionate about her career! I learned so much from her, as did the moms and even the toddlers!

This place is quite a drive from my home, but I am so glad I got to visit! We browsed the store and had a stack of books to buy in no time. It is magical to open a book and decide for yourself if it fits you (online bookstores disappoint). There is something for every child here. Not to mention, this bookstore is ADORABLE! I loved the little nod to the homeschoolers with a shelf of our own (plus other educational/​teacher books). The staff members were friendly. I also see they have story times, author visits and camps. How fun! It’s hard to believe this place is fairly new. They have it all together!! When in the area, we’ll stop by again.

I traveled all the way from Colorado to see this bookstore for myself! It is everything I imagined it to be. The store is warm and welcoming. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, helpful and fun. The love of books and children’s literature is felt the minute you walk through the door. Also, did I mention how cute the store is set up and they have adorable cubbies custom made by the owner’s son for kids and even adults to sit in and read!!! LOVE this place. If you have young children or grandchildren you will be so happy you took them to this store OR stopped in yourself to buy a special book especially to them from you.

Once Upon a Storybook is the most delightful place to shop and get lost in the world of books. Susie the book lady’s knowledge and love of children’s literature is phenomenal. Be prepared to fall in love with everything this store has to offer. There are so many great events geared for little ones; pre-​school storytime, milk & cookies, afterschool pizza party, creative writing, and so much more, it makes me wish mine were young again. OUAS also offers a great teen section featuring all of the current novels and series.
Enderle Center is a perfect location for this adorable boutique children’s bookstore. A must visit even if you don’t have small children. Susie will always ask you which book, or author was your favorite.
