Every coffee is roasted to peak flavor and served fresh using only the highest quality ingredients, such as Straus Family Creamer organic milk. Freshness is paramount. That is why we only make coffee by the cup, when it’s ordered. Our coffeehouses feature an upbeat vibe and modern design. Our coffee equipment is state-of-the-art and our staff are true professionals. We offer fresh pastries from Cake Monkey Bakery and a variety of delicious non-caffeinated drinks as well.
History
Established in 2011.
Portola Coffee Lab is the coffee brain-child of Jeff Duggan. Jeff was a decade-long home coffee roaster that maintained a mad-scientist-like passion for the coffee he created. His roasting became his business. Portola Handcrafted Coffee Roasters was introduced in 2009. Portola provided sustainably sources, fresh-roasted coffee to those customers searching for flavorful coffee that was not over roasted. As great as that was, there was no way for coffee drinkers to truly experience everything each breathtaking coffee had to offer. Out of that need, Portola Coffee Lab was born. Utilizing that uncompromising commitment to quality that Portola embodied when roasting their beans, the coffeehouse has taken it from roasted bean all the way to the brewed cup.
In 2015, Portola Coffee Lab was named Roast Magazine’s Micro Roaster of the Year which was an international competition and award.
