Pro Dance Center

Funny. They moved their business and instead of updating their page with the new address they set up a new page. Could that be to get rid of all of the negative reviews that were posted. I think so. Do yourself a favor and check out the experience MANY people have had at ProDance and you’ll see that it’s not all fun and games. Here’s my review from April 2011…
Worst experience EVER! This dance center is the most unprofessional I’ve ever seen. Don’t waste your money.
The teacher quit and the owner didn’t bother to tell the parents. Various subs filled in for two months (all without informing the parents). Then, the owner stepped in and proceeded to berate and yell at the kids because they didn’t know the routine. He went as far as to say, «I don’t care if you aren’t happy – your parents aren’t bringing you back anyways». That was without me even saying a thing about not coming back. I get the teachers being tough on the kids, but this went too far.
I only stayed because I’d paid the recital fee but the abuse my kid took wasn’t worth it. Along with my daughter, I know five other families that pulled their daughters after the experience. The owner is very disrespectful of women – he didn’t like talking with me at all. When I (very calmly) inquired about the teacher changing he rudely said that he had no obligation to tell me anything.
I should add that the fee I paid for my daughter to participate in two dances at the recital was more than I paid for both of my daughters to participate in two recitals (a total of four) at their new dance center. ProDance uses the recital to pad their budget – seriously! I totally get reasonable fees – but $ 250 for costume and shoes is ridiculous! The new dance studio charged half that amount.
While I am totally about diversity – the owners are ESL, which would be fine if they’d be open to editing printed materials, but they’re not. I am the first to acknowledge that the English language can be very confusing – but that’s no excuse for the lack of willingness to accept help. The program for the recital was riddled with typographical errors and misspelled words. I know at least three people who offered help but their help was rejected because the owner’s wife was a «professional». As a professional who paid for «professional» lessons and paid for tickets for family and friends to attend the recital, the least they could’ve done was to have provided a professional program without numerous errors (I actually redlined it and found more than 100 typos!) It was so bad, I used it as an example at school to demonstrate the importance of editing before printing materials.
We finished out the recital and switched to another (significantly larger studio), where we’ve been very happy. Interestingly, our daughter was in tap and hip hop lessons at ProDance for more than a year but didn’t learn any of the most basic steps. After her assessment at the new studio, she had to take more basic lessons and turns & techniques to learn everything that ProDance didn’t teach her. If you’re looking for a place to take your child so you can «say» he/​she is in dance lessons than go to ProDance. If you want your child to actually learn to dance (and perhaps consider dancing professionally in the future), I encourage you to look elsewhere.
BTW, I find it interesting that three of the «filtered» reviews for ProDance were posted within days of my negative review. That’s probably the reason they’re filtered. Just sayin’!

Nasser is a great dance instructor and his class is fun, Kids love to dance. The class is not crowded so kids get more attention from the instructor. The new place is nicer and better location for us. Fun class, Affordable price, and kids love it.

The classes here are small, so the teachers can really help to push you to your full potential! I prefer these fun classes after work instead of heading to the gym! All the teachers are so nice and supportive. I felt welcome from the moment I started. Zumba, salsa, hula and belly dance are all recommended to try! I love this place! You don’t need a dance background to try this! They will teach you!

The instructors are great my daughter looks forward to ballet class every week. The classes are small so the kids get more attention.
