I called in to schedule for a regular manicure (not gel) with design. I asked if Jenny was available, but the lady said Jenny is out on leave so I asked if there’s another nail technician who could do the design I wanted as I explained in detail what the design was. The lady on the phone was confident that they could do it so I went in. The moment I sat down and showed the lady the picture of the design she looked puzzled and then began to take my phone with the picture on it to her colleagues who are with other customers showing them the design. When she returned, I told her if she doesn’t think she can do the design that it would be fine and I can just get my nails cut and shaped with no manicure. She insisted she can do it and then started on my nails. Don’t get me wrong, the lady who did my nails was nice but 1) she resisted cutting my nails shorter because it would be harder for her to do the design on my nails 2) the result of the design wasn’t exactly what I was looking for but was a nice attempt despite the very heavy layers of nail polish. She was very proud of her work and took a picture to share with Jenny.
After getting back from vacation, I tried to remove the nail polish at home and it wasn’t budging. That’s when I called the salon and spoke with a Tasha. I explained to her that I can’t remove the polish and she confirmed back that it was gel polish. This was shocking because I never get gel nails nor do I know how gel nails are done. I specifically avoid gel nails and even told the lady who took my appointment that I wanted regular polish and then re-​confirmed back that I do not want gel nails when the lady asked if I wanted to do gel. Tasha then said that they can remove the gel for me for their standard $ 5 price. Not only did they already use gel and charged me the gel price, a service I did not ask for and purposely avoid in order to not damage my nails (side note, I was shocked with the $ 45 price at the end of my visit but I thought that was the price for a custom design), now she was making me come in and pay for the removal. After trying to get Tasha to understand the situation again she told me to come in and they would do it free of charge. Went into the salon and now Tasha questions me asking if I am sure I came into their salon to do my nails. I said yes, and that the lady who did my nails even messaged Jenny a picture of my nails that day. When that excuse didn’t work, a girl that was there during my visit said that I called and scheduled a gel nail appointment. They are all over the place with their lies at this point. First trying to say I’m at the wrong salon yet the girl slips up and confirms I was there by lying about the appointment I called in for. By now Tasha knows that they are making matters worse and removed the gel for me. Finally, after paying more for a service that I always try to avoid when occasionally getting my nails done in order to not damage them, I ended up with scratched up nails in the end after the removal process.
Long story short, 1) if Jenny isn’t available if you want a design, just wait to do it with her 2) make sure they are not trying to make you pay more for something you don’t want. After all of this, no one felt apologetic. If they had approached it differently without trying to pin the customer as a liar, my approach to this review would’ve been different.

I was a loyal customer for many years. Tina did my hair and nails. Suddenly, and I mean overnight, Tina was no longer there. I was told by the salon that she retired. Tina did not retire, she is now at Best Cuts Beauty salon at 119 N. Prospect Ave. in Tustin. Very disappointing that salon owner was unwilling to be honest with Tina’s longtime clients. I will never go back to the salon. So happy that I found Tina! Hopefully this post will get the word out to let Tina’s longtime clients find her.

Was really excited to try this place because of the reviews but immediately when I walked in I felt unwelcome. Then the lady that did my pedicure I couldn’t really understand her and once she was doing my pedicure she’s cut more of my cuticle that she should have and she made me bleed and didn’t even ask if I was okay. I can’t even wear close shoes because it hurts.

Jenny does an amazing job on my gel nails. They always look good even when I run a little long between visits. Her designs are fresh and a playful addition. I won’t be going to anyone else for my nails.

Great service and staff. I came in to get a spa pedicure ($ 17 normally but I scaled up to the Tip Top special $ 25) and gel manicure ($ 25).
Mindy, the manicurist helped me choose a color for my skin tone and to match the color scheme of the upcoming wedding I’m participating in.
Trina did my feet and she did an amazing and thorough job! Reasonable prices and great location. I’ll definitely come here again.

This place is right next to my office, so I thought I would swing in for a quick mani pedi on my lunch break. They were able to help me right away. Everyone was super nice and they did a great job. They have a lot of gel colors to choose from. The only negative is they were really slow. It took almost two hours for a gel manicure and pedicure. Which, my pedi went pretty fast, I think whoever did my nails was just pretty slow. Overall, pretty good. Also prices are GREAT. Very inexpensive.

Got my mani done by Mindy she was great, it was my first time getting fake nails and I love it! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she was accommodating. I got a pedi to match and it came out super cute! Will definantly be back here with my hubby, he absolutely loved his men and pedi too.

They get busy pretty quick, so I recommend making an appointment in advance!

Have been coming in for manis and pedis, and have also been getting my eyelash extensions done. Jenny is great at eyelash extensions and waxing. She is also great at nail design.
I came in today for a gel manicure and regular spa pedicure. Amy did my manicure while Katie did my pedicure. I am happy with both, but am especially happy with how my gel manicure turned out. This is my second time having Amy do my mani, and I am so happy that she was the one who took care of my mani. She is so careful and meticulous. Amy also did my brow and upper lip wax, and she is very patient and careful with that — just like she is doing manicures.
From now on I will call ahead of time to schedule with Jenny and Amy. Thank you Tip Top Hair & Nails!

I haven’t gotten my nails done in over a year, so when my manicurist took most of her time cutting and cleaning my cuticles I was very happy. I don’t know the name of the lady who did my nails, but she did an amazing job. Very clean and fresh. The lady who did my pedicure changed my square nail shape to round without asking, so i’m not too happy about that.
I called ahead to make an appointment and did not have to wait at all. My gel mani and regular pedicure took exactly 1 hour. Will come again

First time getting a Gel Manicure. Its been two weeks & my nails still look Great! Thank you Ladies!!!

I’m new to the area. I have been looking for a nail salon and found this place around the corner from my house. My nails were a mess from the previous place i went to and Tasha did a great job fixing them. The place is clean and the girls are very nice. The popular girl there looks to be Jenny because she’s the nail artist, with all the cool skills to do different kinds of designs, so make an appointment if u want her to do your nails.

Thanks Jenny for such an amazing job on the design! I can’t believe you were able to squeeze in the Chinese character in such a small space. Thanks!

Had to update my review now that I received my first gel manicure by Jenny. She did a wonderful job and clearly is a perfectionist. I felt so relaxed too while I was being pampered. Linda also does a great job with pedicures.

I am going to stop going off of Unilocal reviews for some businesses. I tried this place solely on the reviews. Well let’s just say I am a first and last time customer. My nails look like shit and I left with a slit to make matters worst. This is by far the worst nail salon I tried since moving to California. So disappointed.

Jenny does such an amazing job with my nails! She’s patient with designs, really takes her time, and is extremely sweet and professional. I’ve gotten a full gel mani and a liquid gel set done here, both by Jenny so I can’t speak for the other workers — but all of whom seem very welcoming, as Vietnamese gossip is virtually nonexistent.
The boyfriend lives in SoCal, so Unilocal led me here to fix a broken nail (one of the best Unilocal suggestions to date). I’ve been here on two occasions and I will continue to do so when I’m in the area.
Jenny continuously checks on whether I like the length, shape, or design, and also breaks down each charge when giving me the final total — which is nice to see exactly what you’re paying for, something many other salons neglect. Great pricing and attention to detail.
They even offered an empty massage chair for the poor, sleepy boyfriend of mine to nap in. So sweet!

It’s so hard to find a good nail salon, and when you find a good one you have to stick with it! I can honestly say that my last 5 mani/​pedi trips here have been great! I’ve had different ladies each time and so far no complaints about anyone. I usually get a basic spa pedi, and gel mani’s that last about 3 ½ weeks before I need a redo. They take their time and I’ve never felt rushed — even during the busy hours.
Only 4 stars because on 3 occasions I had to wait 15 min AFTER arriving on or before my appointment time, which can be frustrating.

I was searching for a new nail salon as the one I go to is a bit far for me to drive too. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to make an appointment for a gel manicure. Tiffany did the majority of my gel manicure and Jenny did the design.
When I walked in, I was instantly greeted with a smile. The environment was very calm and comforting. I typically will go with a girlfriend to get my nails done, but I didn’t mind going alone here. Jenny is very talented with designs and it’s impressive how delicate and gentle she is with a brush.
There are several massage chairs and 3 stations for your nails. This place also cuts hair and offers other services so you can basically get pampered all together in one here — but I just stick to nails :)
