I’m loath to review the IaW, as it’s my go-to spot before and after hikes in the Methow. It’s clean, cheap, and convenient. The cottages and rooms are a little threadbare, but are comfortable. Love the full-sized stoves and fridges in the units. Even the motel rooms have this. The wi-fi works great. There are tennis courts out back, and there’s a place to barbecue. Hot tub has no set hours so you come and go as you please. Stumbling distance from the Twisp Pub and the rest of downtown.

We were a little leary at first; one never knows what one will find with something that is not part of a chain. But we were very pleasantly surprised to find our cabin not only clean and fully supplied with necessary stuff(plates, cutlery, pots, etc.), but very roomy. The cabin is like a teeny house, complete with bedroom, separate living room, kitchen(with a stove/oven, fridge and full-sized coffee maker) and a back deck. We were drawn to this motel because it permitted smoking, plus allowed us to bring our dog with us. And it is on the main road; very close to Winthrop and close to everything Twisp has to offer. AND it had a terrific air conditioner, and since while we were there, it was 97 degrees, was much appreciated. Only bummer was that they said coffee/pastries in the office in the morning — whatever that bread was they had out was not good at all. But since we had our own kitchen, we had brought our own, so no biggie there. Will definitely be coming back to stay here. Already a co-worker asked for the motel link — he is always looking for dog-friendly places that does not charge extra.
