All American Party And Tent Rentals

I rented a large amount of chairs and dinnerware from All American Party and Tent Rentals for my wedding and the experience was honestly, terrible. At first we had no issue with the company. Their quotes were very reasonable for the area, and they had everything we needed for our wedding. However, it was after the money was all paid that we started having issues. The first issue was the delivery (which we paid extra for). I got a call in the morning when we had agreed on an afternoon pickup, from the delivery guy saying he was at the place and ready to unload. I was about 2 hours away doing some last minute wedding shopping in Dallas. The delivery guy had no idea what was going on, and he wasn’t even at the right location. He actually had driven up into the yard of the next door neighbors of the venue (although, I will note that the delivery people were very nice, according to my fiancé). The rental company did not apologize for the inconvenience. Next, the day of my wedding we had some people setting up chairs and realized that some were broken. Others had stickers right on the front. The rest were very scratched up. with dirt and marks on the seat. We had to go check every chair to make sure the chair wasn’t broken and we had to clean each chair. I realize that rentals are not going to look new, but you do expect them to show up clean and in a decent state. I hate to think that if we hadn’t checked them off my grandmother could have sat in one and fell straight to the floor.
The next nightmare came for pickup. The earliest the company will pickup is Monday morning, so I got the venue to allow me to keep the items in the building until Monday. Monday rolls around, and I get a call from the venue that afternoon saying that the rental company never picked up. I called the rental company and there was no answer. I tried to leave a message, but all their inboxes are full. I didn’t get a hold of them until Tuesday, and they said one of their trucks broke down, which I understand, but why did I have to call them about it. Just like the delivery, they should have notified me that they were going to have to pickup Tuesday. I was especially upset, because one of their customer service reps promised me that they would call me and confirm that the items had been picked up and they didn’t. They also promised the items would be picked up that day.
Over the next couple of days I had to call the company over and over again about the issue.
The rentals aside, their customer service team was not helpful. After we finally got the items picked up, we called about the broken chairs and stickers. The original customer service rep I spoke with said she would work on getting the problem solved and a refund issued. After she never called me back, I called again. A different woman told me that they probably wouldn’t be able to refund, because I didn’t count and separate out the damaged chairs. I tried to explain to her that the wedding day was chaos and as the bride, I didn’t personally stay and stack up all the chairs. I told her they had been separated out, but since we were never given a pickup time, we had no way of meeting the delivery people and showing them which ones were damaged. I also told her that it shouldn’t be my responsibility to check and pay for damaged items. Apparently the rental company doesn’t check for items before the leave for an event or when they are brought back. However, I promise you that if I hadn’t paid for a damage waiver, I’m sure they would have inspected every single item to charge me for damages. I’m shocked that a company would act this way, and throughout the whole process they never even apologized for the stress and confusion they caused. They lied and said they would call me back several times and never did. They acted accusatory, like I was making it up, or at fault for not calling them earlier or counting every item. I would not recommend this company for any event– but especially not for weddings, they’ll do nothing but add stress to your special day.
