History

Established in 1988.

Design Center Signs & Banners was started by Rick and Jody Unger in the garage of their home to produce vinyl pin striping and other sign and banner products. In 1997, John and Nancy Johnson purchased the company and built a new retail fabrication facility on the site of the Unger’s home.

In 2006, Paul and Nita Ingle purchased the firm, adding commercial and architectural sign experience to the operation. In 2007 and 2008, a project management group, installation and service fleet was added.

To focus on the expanding regional reach of the business and solidify a single source vendor approach, the company was renamed Design Center Signs in 2009.

Clients include regional firms and entities such as Brookshire’s, Food Fast, Kidd-Jones, Austin Bank, Southside Bank, CBS-19, KETK-56, University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler Junior College, City of Tyler, ETMC, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals, Home Plus, Cassity Jones and contractors around the state.
