FRESH by Brookshire’s

Great grocery store. It has a nice lively feel and presents your standard grocery store fare in a new way. I had 1(one) soft taco. Homemade tortilla, barbecue beef and grilled onions with a queso and jalapeño ranch sauce. The checkout area had utensils for me and I ate on the patio under a fan with a nice breeze. Pretty good for a grocery store.

Great tacos, great salad bar and absolutely fantastic shopping experience. Did I say this is a grocery store?

Love Fresh! We travel over an hour to shop the great produce, deli and fish counter. Quality items and we have found on occasion even cheaper than competitors on a few items. Yes as a whole they are a little more $ but we are very concerned with what we eat. Wild caught fish is preferred and we will gladly pay more. Great wine department. Bakery, I will say is not the greatest. But gelato is great. Good selection of hard to find items. Not a big fan of prepared items, to-​go counter, but that is just our personal taste as we really like to know how the ingredients in our foods.

I just went to Fresh for the first time and EEW it was anything but fresh. I drove from one side of Tyler to the other to get there and it was awful. I knew not to expect Whole foods or Central Market but the Brookshire’s in Pittsburg, Tx. has better food. I also got some Tiramisu and it was old and dried out. I will never go back.

Very impressed with all the options and how clean the store is, asked that the sushi I wanted to be made fresh and there was no problem getting it done!!! Very friendly atmosphere and the choices are infinite, I’ll be taking on the extensive wine selection next.

Best grocery store EVER. Kind of a cross between a nice Tom Thumb and Central Market. I love all the harder to find items (indian spices, bulk seeds/​spices, Cento brand tomatoes). Nice beer/​wine selection. Fabulous meat/​seafood counter. Great fresh produce. Lovely salad bar/​taco bar/​prepared meals. However, the most impressive part about this store is the knowledgable, available, and friendly staff. These people really know their stuff. Once I asked for an indian spice and the guy helping me (I’m sorry I don’t remember his name) told me all about his experiences with Tandoori cooking as we walked right to where the spice was located. Definitely a good value for your money.

This is my absolute favorite grocery store I’ve ever been to. My family and I shop there regularly… prices are somewhat high but it’s very worth it. My favorites are their tacos, twice baked potatoes and pot pies

Grocery store? Restaurant? Music venue? YES YES YES!!! Coolest spot to shop and hang out around! Enjoy!

If I could get a decent baguette at Fresh I’d be much more impressed but then if people in East Texas actually knew what good bread was like I’m sure they could. If I could buy lamb breast or pork belly or just find a real butcher who knew what the heck I was talking about I’d be lots happier. Fresh is undoubtedly the best grocery in Tyler. This is called «damning with faint praise.»

Whoa! What a wonderful gem found in the Piney Woods of Tyler Texas!
We were invited by our close friends, who once owned Sweet Dreams Winery in Palestine, to go listen to Eric Mosley at Fresh on Friday, Sept. 25^th. We jumped at the chance because we always enjoyed listening to Eric when he played at their Winery. We all drove over to Tyler from Palestine, & when we arrived, we were greeted on the Patio by Eric & a long table full of our old Winery Buds. It was like Old Home Week. We’re off to a great start!
FRESH was a total surprise! We were really impressed with all things about FRESH! Hubby immediately walked up to the Patio Grill & ordered his favorite Brew. The Patio Bar offers some delicious looking burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, fish tacos, all kinds of American Craft Beers and all kinds of wine and drink to suit anyone’s fancy.
We go inside the store, and it is sensory overload! Entering off the Patio, we veered right first. WOW! This is not your average grocery store, folks! You can pick up something from the Taco Bar, grab a Professional Chef-​Prepared dinner, stop by the gorgeous Salad, Dip & Hummus Bar, pick out some delicious cheese and meats for a Charcuterie Board, we then passed by the delicious looking Handmade Pasta Bar… Yum, ya might want to pick up a beautifully hand packed fruit or vegetable container to go with your dip or hummus, the Fresh Meat and Seafood Market is Unreal! …it just goes on & on & on… all organic & chemical free. They offer many gluten free and all natural items throughout the store.
Then, we ventured back around the corner to make a pass by the Coffee & Gelato Bar, the Bakery (Good Lord Have Mercy… drooling…& the Wedding Cakes are just beautiful, as well.), cruise past the HUGE selections of Beer & Wines (So glad that Smith County finally came around!), visited the most gorgeous Florist Dept. I’ve seen in any store or professional florist shop! They offer Bridal & Wedding Party florals and bouquet’s. I’d definitely check into that !
FRESH has the Whole Foods /​Central Market feel, just not so HUGE and overwhelming. I like everything about FRESH and plan on spending many fun times watching some of our favorite local bands, (Eric Mosley, Ramoth Gilead & Wesley Pruitt Band), on the HUGE outside patio, & enjoying many of the Yummy food & drink options that FRESH has to offer!

Love everything about this place! It’s so clean and «Fresh»! Has hard to find ingredients and specialty items. Love gelato on the patio and live music and burgers on the weekend!

I LOVE this place as well! Great food here, gelato, sushi, salads, etc. I like to sit outside when I have a chance, the view is magnificent. Store is nice, clean, and organized. Staff is very nice. Produce is also very fresh.

The best meat market in south Tyler.
5 star wine selection.
Very nice variety of import beers. The usual domestics with a few crafts and local brews.
Wonderful salad bar and dip bar.
Decent produce and fruit.
Excellent bakery.
The taco stand is meh.
The sandwich shop is 3.5÷5
This place gets a lot of money from me monthly. I’m a big fan.
I would rate ⁵⁄₅ but, very pricey and they do not use the brookshires rewards card.

You can’t find a better market for meat or fresh prepared foods anywhere else in Tyler. It is the only place I buy my meats and seafood. In the Spring, they have live music, fun!

Great taco bar and deli/​produce (highly recommend all the fresh made tacos.
Think Chipotle only better and bigger) Meat selection is excellent and in a world of getting what you pay for, it lives up to its price tags. I frequent this store and always find their staff friendly and helpful. Doesn’t have the huge selection like the giant chains, but it’s a lot nicer and more personable

For those from Dallas, I would say that Fresh is the Brookshire company’s answer to Central Market.
The chef-​prepared/​deli section has a great selection. The sandwich making team is exceptionally slow, though. My mother-​in-​law and I were the 3^rd and 4^th person in line and waited for 30 minutes to get a sandwich. That’s a little ridiculous.
What I *do* like about Fresh is that you can find Greenberg Turkeys there year-​round. These wonderfully smoked turkeys are usually only available for purchase via mail order during the holiday season. I like to get a turkey, break it down and store it in the freezer for using whenever we want to enjoy smoked turkey.
I certainly wouldn’t make a drive from Dallas to shop at Fresh, but my in-​laws live in Tyler so it’s convenient to stop in when we’re in town for a visit anyway.

We moved here from Austin, so Fresh feels like home to us. It’s a beautiful store with lots of options that we just can’t find at any other grocer in town.
We try not to eat many processed foods, so produce and protein are important staples in our household. Fresh makes that easy for us.
The produce is always fresh and seasonal, which I appreciate. I don’t know if their beef is grassfed, though I feel like they would label it if it was. I love that they have hanger steak. It’s usually impossible to find at other stores.
Fantastic seafood options! We bought some oysters there a few weeks ago that were absolutely delicious.
The staff is always helpful and friendly.
I wish they would start carrying unsalted Kerrygold butter, that way we wouldn’t have to drive to Dallas to buy it from Central Market. Other than that, it’s a fantastic store with tons of healthy options.

Fresh is the «Whole Foods» of Tyler. They have a large variety of organic and tropical fruits and vegetables as well as pre-​made meals. The have fresh juices, fresh sushi and a great deli.
On the weekend you can eat out at their grill and listen to live music. This is a great place for families to relax on a Friday or Saturday night.

I had heard about FRESH and finally had an excuse to visit recently. I was blown away. Brookshire’s nailed it with this concept. Yes, it can be a bit pricey, but I’ll pay a bit more for high quality items in a quality shopping environment.
This is a nice addition to Tyler and I look forward to seeing where Brookshire’s places this concept next. Maybe a bit closer to Whitehouse, perhaps???
