I love this place. Every staff member is awesome. The food is always top quality and highly consistent. TVs everywhere. A nice variety of beer selections with some super, silly cheap specials for you bargain shoppers. It is not fast food. Do not come here if you are in a rush.

I have to say this was the worse pizza ever! The dough was flat and hard as cement. I felt like calling back to get my money back, but I didn’t want to drive to the other side of town again. These people need to learn how to make the chicago style pizza. Tomato sauce was too salty and not sweet like authentic Chicago style. I ‘m not sure how long they will stay in business unless serving this crap.

Well being from Detroit and gladly going to chitown, the windy city just for dogs n pizza, emagine my face when I came here. This is the most disappointing pizza I have ever seen. Little Cesar’s is deeper, hell pizza crap is deeper. OK sorry. Beer was cold. Hot dog was an average BBQ dog, go to sonic it’s better. Pizza just sux. Dough needs proofing and another inch of cheese toppings. Stay away it’s not even close. Beer was cold. Guys not from Chicago, not serving this crap. Maybe that’s why he’s in Tyler… der

Great Service and Great Food! The staff is so helpful and welcoming. The pizza is amazing. It’s very hard to make a decision on what to try. Everything I’ve had has been wonderful.

Great service, great pizza, and cold draft craft beer. The servers here are just tremendous, guide by am amazing general manager. Everyone is friendly and helpful — want something different, don’t be afraid to ask. Try their sliced meatballs on the Deluxe, in place of the Italian Sausage. We love this pizza, but the atmosphere of friendly service makes it beyond wonderful.

Love this place! Would be the only pizza we ever eat if it was a little less pricey! But they have specials some nights which is helpful! Love the Chicago style pizza!!! I love the location lots of parking available and outdoor seating if that’s your thing. Large flatscreens in case you love watching sports! Nice atmosphere!

Great service! Great food! I had a nifty spiked root beer which was. Interesting! Try it if you’re open minded! The pizza was SUPER filling. Loaded with cheese and goodies, these guys aren’t stingy. Thanks for a great dinner :)

I’d like to start by saying the look and feel of this place really makes you feel welcome. The menu is very well put together and simple to understand(even for my wife) lol. The waitress was very friendly and even made us feel like family. I asked for extra ranch and she brought me a massive bowl. Needless to say, I was a happy man. The food itself was delicious and brought to our table within a reasonable time. Me and my family will definitely be making plans to eat at this fine establishment in the near future. Kara really made us feel welcome.

This was my third time ordering take out from Gusanos. My friend got an Italian sub, again. And I got a small Chicago style pizza. My friend ate his entire sub and still had room for a slice of my pizza. He said the sub was great, and it is his usual go to item off the menu. I tried the deluxe pizza, with a few substitutions, which they made with no hassle. Other than I always wish their pizza crust was more buttery, like Uno’s, I do enjoy their pizza. A small Chicago style pizza is two full meals for me or would be perfect for two people to share. My only complaint on service is that the last two times I have called them for take out, it took a very long time to get someone to answer the phone. It was a Friday, early evening, but I let the phone ring over 5 mins the first attempt, before calling back. I recall having a hard time getting someone to pick up the previous time I ordered take out from them as well.

My favorites are the Italian sub & the danomite-yummy! Great service from Nikki & the GM stopped by to talk to us, she made the place feel like home & we told her how much we loved it & were glad to see something like this in Tyler. Not your usual pizza joint. Loved all the TVs & look forward to watching the Superbowl there with my football fanatical friends. My favorite night of the week is trivia night. Tons of fun. I’m gonna place in the top 3 one of these days!!!

The food is fine but the service is SLOW. My wife and I have been here several times over the past 3 – 4 months and each time it has taken an unreasonable amount of time to get the food. We have had to wait over 1 hour and 15 minutes for our pizza before. They comped it, but still — another time, we were literally the only table in the dining area, and yet it took 30 minutes to get our appetizer order of hot wings. It just seems to be a chronic problem. We’ve given it several tries and the service is just unreasonably slow. We probably won’t be back.

We had great customer service and great food. I’ve never tried Chicago style pizza before so I don’t really have anything to compare it to but the pizza was very good and the crust was crispy. I also started with a small house salad. We tried the brownie pizza and it was so good. They have a cookie pizza I’m trying next time.

Best pizza in Tyler! I ate here right after getting back from Chicago and I have to say, this place came pretty close to the delicious pizza I had up there! Delicious. Mine and my sister’s favorite place to go.

Love Chicago — style pizza and they nail it. Good balance of toppings. Crust is so think, without generous sauce and other toppings would be dry. This Is great!

First off, when I walked in I was very impressed with the building. But as soon as I saw and HEARD the loud immature Staff in the back ALLTHEWAYFROMTHEFRONTDOOR. I was shocked. They were acting like a bunch of children. laughing screaming. Yelling at each other. I heard that through the music … I wouldn’t want to eat in there Bc all I’d hear was the inconsiderate obnoxious staff members … would take the enjoyment right away! Second … I saw a female cook with gloves on. run her fingers through her hair. then wipe her eyes then go back to touching pizza !!! Seriously? We can see them !!! Don’t they notice that . Third ! If u Wana spend 25 $ for a pizza covered in sauce and not cooked all the way ! U found your spot. I won’t be going back. I only made an a Unilocal account ti make this post . Dear Manger . Tyler tx is a small town. if you don’t change things. I promise. Your business won’t last !

Since I’ve never been to Chicago, I can’t compare this Chicago style pizza to any other, but I can say the Chicago style Hawaiian Pizza is Da Bomb. The sauce was thick and spicy. Gooey Cheese and festive crust made this pizza over the top scrumptious. My daughter and I went for lunch and had the 9 inch pizza 2 drinks and 2 salads for $ 17.99. We were so full we decided to walk it off and shop at a local store, Spin Out which is located a few shops down the way. We had a fantastic time and the service was awesome. My only negative was the wifi required a password. No telling what sort of food induced review I could have given with access to wifi right after my meal. We’ll be back.

ScottB the«Yoda of Unilocal» gave a a very accurate description of the crust style. Cliffs Notes for those too lazy to look at Scott’s review: This ain’t your Grannies Chicago crust. If you want real Chicago, then go to Chicago. But then you run into Democrats, stray bullets, and Jess-eh Jackson. The sauce is pretty damn good. Order the«Homie Todd.» It’s not on the menu, but it’s a hawaiian with jalapenos. There are tons of TV’s for all your sports watching needs. The bar is large, but the patio can be a bit too sunny in the afternoon. If your visit takes you into the bar section, chances are you will run into Taylor. He is an excellent bartender and will make sure your beer does not get empty.

Staff was friendly. Great food. Great location! Would recommend to a friend. We tried the ceaser and Greek salads… both good. We tried a cheese, veggie, ranch bacon chicken and all meat pizza. They were all good. The meat one was made Chicago styled.

The only thing good about these pizzas were the sauce in the Chicago style(not) Deluxe pizza. I hate to say it but we will not be returning to this establishment ever. The food was maybe adequate but defiantly not even close to good. I ordered one large deluxe Chicago style pizza, one small Margherita pizza thin crust. One cookie one brownie. First taking the order went smoothly on the phone. I waited 20mins to leave the house cause I just wanted to pay and get the food home. I stopped for a lottery ticket. Got to the restaurant was told my order was not ready, I paid and added a $ 5 tip. Sat down with several others waiting. Ten mins in we were all told ‘Y’all’s orders are all being boxed up right now’ another 15mins and I was the only one of that group still there waiting. I stood at the counter and was told ‘because I ordered the cookie and brownie we are waiting for them to get out of the oven’ about 5 – 7 mins still standing there the manager was told to come see me by someone I don’t know who. She went on to tell me some excuses about the way the ovens are and blah blah blah. She assured me my order just want ready yet, they are busy. Insisting on seeing where it was she discovered my whole order was sitting on shelves in the kitchen waiting GETTINGCOLD. I asked for my $ 5 tip back. She offered to comp my order but I just wanted my tip back. The food was cold dry and the supposed Chicago crust was tall and big but just a thin hard crust not at all thick and what I think of as Chicago crust. The thin crust was just a cracker(at least it wasn’t soggy) over cooked dark hard cheese on top and a tiny bit of basil thin slices tomatoes. Huge disappointment. Dessert was no good.

I moved to Texas from Chicago, so allow me to judge. First off, this is not true Chicago style deep dish pizza. If anyone knows what real Chicago deep dish pizza is(e.g. Gino’s East, Malnati’s, etc.), you’ll understand what I’m talking about. Here’s a rundown: A real Chicago style deep dish has a thick, buttermilk(sometimes caramelized) crust, in addition to about two inches of cheese and toppings. Gusano’s is a replica, or fugazi, at best. Albeit not the real deal, it was still good. The wife and I thought the pizza was good, and Gusano’s did nail the sauce, as this was spot on. The pizza bread app, was also very tasty. The service was superb; we couldn’t have asked for more attentive, and friendly service. Unlike most restaurants, Gusano’s was staffed appropriately too. Another nice touch is that they divided the restaurant, and bar in half. Most Tyler restaurants offer a small bar that might hold a handful of midgets, but Gusano’s actually has a large bar(full bar, with beer, liquor & wine). From a former restaurant /bar owner’s perspective, I’d gently advise the owner /Management to offer a better beer, wine & more top shelf liquor options. You’re in south Tyler, the demographics support it. Lot’s of potential; I look forward to returning. 3.5 stars
