The room quality was what I expected for the price we paid and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very disappointing. The food selection was actually very good but the food was not kept stocked. There were only 5 tables in use but many empty trays including scrambled eggs, gravy for the biscuits and the sausage. The eggs were«watered down» as were the juices. Finally, the yogurt had all been expired for at least 10 days — not good. Finally we were there in mid September and temperatures were in the mid 90’s. The pool was already closed for the winter — A bit early to close down the pool.

We arrived in Tyler for a funeral very early. We needed to change and head to the church. We called the hotel and asked if there was anyway possible for us to check in early. The young man on the phone had to check with someone but they gave us the go ahead. We were able to check in and get ready. The young man who helped us was named Ed. He being kind to us during an already stressful time was greatly appreciated. The rest of the staff were nice and friendly. Our stay was a peaceful one. The service that we received made this a four star stay.

Comfy bed and the best hotel I saw in the area. Staff was friendly. Small town so mostly fast food restaurants close by. Glad I chose this hotel for having to stay in Tyler. I had a good experience.

I’m only giving it 2 stars because of the awesome free breakfast and the selection. The room itself sucks. You almost die in the bathroom while taking a shower and if someone in your group does a #2 hopefully it is right before it’s time to leave the room for a while. So if you MUST stay buy some Zebreze. My family will NEVER stay at this place again.

I stayed here two nights about a week ago. I booked the room via Hotwire. You know, where you can’t see where the joint is until you pay for it? I’ve always lucked out and got a holiday inn on the south side of town but this time I got this one on the far north side. I wasn’t pleased as I used to live in Tyler and the north side shall we say isn’t the nicest part of town. However, the hotel was nice though the rooms could use some updating. Never felt unsafe or threatened. Just a pain in the ass as all the activities I would be partaking in where in the south end of town. Overall a good pleasant experience.

Not bad. Staff were very friendly and the room was pretty clean. The beds were great and parking was ample. I would stay here again for sure.

Terrific bed, great shower, but some desk staff(Juan) leave a lot of people skills to be desired. Made reservation and checked in with Kimberley, awesome service and attentiveness. then one night, with no one else outside for miles, overnight desk clerk Juan threatened to have police escort me from the pool area for smoking. Not exactly the best customer service experience I’ve had, to say the least. Bottom line, the room was great, Kimberley was great(sent us to the best barbecue place I’ve been to in decades) but Juan ruined all the goodness with his smug, holier-than-thou, listen-to-me-because-I’m-gay attitude. Memo to Juan: I don’t give a rat’s ass whom you love or whom you marry. just let sleeping dogs lie. and if you ever get another hotel job, try to wear something other than a tee-shirt and jeans. you might be perceived as slightly respectable.

Sure, there is a memory foam bed, an HDTV with actual HD service, a comfortable room, friendly staff, but by far, the best reason to stay here is the absolutely amazing shower pressure. Anyone who does a fair amount of traveling knows what a huge deal it is to be able to take a good shower. For that reason above all others, I will stay here again.

I found my stay here very nice. Room was updated and comfortable. I was very satisfied with my stay at this Holiday Inn express.

Maybe it was because I had just stayed at a totally new HIE the weekend before I stayed at this one but man… update this place already! The beds were tempur-pedic which I found awesome and slept great. They had a big flat screen TV with lots of channels, also another plus. However, the rest of the room was just run-down and older. The first room I got I actually asked to change out of. The phone didn’t work(scary) and the fridge(which I actually needed) wasn’t plugged in when I got there so I plugged it in but it smelled so bad anyways I wanted out. The room I got next was slightly better but still they need to put the money in and really update this place. Staff was ok. Breakfast was exactly what I expect from HIE, which is decent.

Not bad. Looks like a newer property from the outside, not so much on the inside. Front desk staff were helpful, friendly, and efficient. Breakfast is OK. In my three night stay, they offered omlet-like things twice and properly scrambled eggs once, along with HIE’s signature cinnamon rolls along with biscuits and gravy(didn’t try). Bacon one day didn’t look or taste much like bacon. Room was nicely sized but a bit austere; never could get temperature comfortable with window AC/heater. Very nice Samsung LCD flat screen TV. Plastic cups like more and more places. Handy location. I’ll consider using again when back in Tyler, but I’d also consider trying other places. I do like the Baymont in town but it wasn’t available for this stay. I checked in on Sunday night and got the wireless access code from the desk clerk; she didn’t mention that it would change at midnight, so I had some frustrations Monday trying to get online(and missed emails on my phone which was working on their wifi but which was no longer authorized when the code changed Sunday night at midnight.) Would’ve been nice if she’d also given me the code for the remainder of my stay… Nothing particularly wrong with it, but nothing to particularly recommend it either. I do like the HIE chain in general, so I’m not adversely biased against this place.

That’s right. I’m Unilocalin’ a Holiday Inn. Wanna know why? Because it’s a kick ass Holiday Inn! The girls and I decided to get a room instead of having a slumber party at our friends’ house in Tyler. It was late, we were tired and in desperate need of some chick talk. Jenn was kind enough to drive our happy arses to the nearest non-crackheadish hotel in the area. Eureka! To tell you the truth I didn’t get a good look at it during the evening. The room was nice, had two comfy beds with soft sheets and a huge flat screen TV. As we walked down the hallway into the main lobby, I was floored! The lobby was huge with a long table with food, drinks and a load of tables to enjoy the goodies at. I couldn’t believe my eyes when we walked by to see a gym. A pretty good-sized gym in a Holiday Inn? Nice work, Tyler. If I’m ever in Tyler in need of a place to stay, I’ll be back to hang out at the good ‘ol Holiday Inn and Suites.
