We love their fajitas! Best Mexican food in town. Plus, free chips & hot sauce, tortillas, sopapillas and ice cream for dessert! This place is always busy and always great food!

The food is mediocre, the service super slow. If you only get a hour long lunch break this is not the place to go. 9 out of 10 they will mess up my order.

Posados is fine, but a bit commercial food-wise. Prices were a bit high, but at least seemed like a clean restaurant. I had a señor plate, two items with sides, which was served hot and that’s always a plus. I had pretty good service. I’d probably try them again.

Ridiculous service today. Waited 50 minutes for a cheese enchilada a la cart. Had to take my lunch to go because I ran out of time!

My wife’s favorite Mexican Restaurant in Tyler ! If you leave here hungry you have done something wrong. Chili Rellanos and crispy tacos are the bomb !

I think this restaurant is good for the entire family! It’s a bit expensive for a family of four however. The food is good and portions are more than adequate-just take it home! It’s still good later. There are better places to eat Mexican; this is rather Tex-Mex. Nevertheless if you are hungry and in the area(with some money in your pocket) it is a good place to dine.

Posados /Mercados are the same experience. Slow service, overpriced for what you get and everything extra is a huge cost. I always have issues with things costing extra when you want to change 1 menu item.

I will say that the food here is not so bad. However, the last two times my husband and I have gone here we have clearly ordered a guacamole appetizer that never appeared. We went there a couple of weeks ago, and the waiter, although very polite and trying his best, was clearly not well trained and did not know the menu. We could tell he was new, so we gave him the benefit of the doubt, but it was obvious he was just thrown to the wolves. The top shelf margaritas were very good, and we will be back, anything beats El Charro!

Whenever in Texas I always gorge on Tex-Mex. Had dinner at Posados at Thanksgiving time while visiting family and had a great meal. Standard cheese enchilada, puffed taco, rice and beans. The chicken enchilada on my combo plate wasn’t great but the refrieds were right on as were the fresh tortillas. Our server was a delight and the prices were right on.

Posados /Mercados are sister companies, and their menu is about the same. The food itself is fine, if you are looking for mediocre Tex-Mex. I’ll start with the drinks. No draft beer, but a decent selection of Mexican bottles. The menu shows a huge selection of margaritas. I ordered a «Grande» rita rocks. Apparently, «Grande» means overflowing ice, and very little lime mix. It was a tiny amount of rita for $ 10. Never Again. And don’t expect a mix of simple sugar and fresh lime, their mix is store bought, and straight out of the bottle. Nasty, and weak. If it would have contained any noticeable tequila, it would have at least let me know I was getting something for my money. They had an especial of fajitas for two for $ 16.99. Sold! The meal came out sizzling, but we had to wait 10 minutes for tortillas. And then we only got 4 torts, and they were tiny. We needed at least 4 more, but never got them. the salsa is OK, but it’s got zero spice to it. The chips were not greasy. The service was downright BAD. I can’t totally blame the server, the poor bastard was set with two large 10+ groups right after he took our drink order. He never stood a chance. However, the bad service was not limited to our waiter, we watched another table finally get up and leave after waiting 30 minutes for their check. Seems the management cuts costs with limited servers. Bottom line: Tyler has Tex-Mex on every corner, so you have options. I would humbly suggest you seek out one of our many Taquirea-type establishments for some good grub.

Years ago I would have given a four star rating, but after an absence of many years we returned tonight to find things much different. Gone are the long waits; after dinner, we knew why. First, NODRAFTBEER! Second, I ordered a Blue Moon that came without an orange slice; I sent it back and asked for a Bud! Did the general manager come by? NO. Third, there were six of us and three entrees were good and three were not. We told our waiter, but still, the general manager did not come by our table – clearly, she did not care. We will not return:(

Hey don’t think I want to eat where the waitress digs in the trash to retrieve a to go cup. So if Chelsea waits on you, you might want to make sure she washed her hands.

I’ve been to a lot of Tex-Mex restaurants in my life, and Posados is easily one of the best. Some of their most delicious items are free, including chips and salsa, flour and corn tortillas, sopapillas, and soft serve ice cream. Don’t miss them!

I am so sad that my favorite Mexican restaurant in Tyler, TX has changed chefs, and now the food is mediocre. Anyone know where the chef went?

Consistently good. My family loves the salsa and the chicken fajitas. Free tortillas, chips & salsa, and ice cream or sopapillas makes this a great place to take the family.
