Good prices and cute items but bad customer service! Employees are rude and unprofessional.

I was at This Ross on Saturday June 20, 2015 with my 10 year old Daughter. I did find some great shoes for a great price. That was the only highlight of my trip here. After shopping and heading to check out, I found the crazy unorganized and confusing line for the registers near the purses and shoes. There was no one in line at all so I walked through it and just waited about 4 feet from the registers for my turn as both cashiers were checking customers out. They were slow so a line of three people formed just to my right and we continued to wait. Then the woman at the register on my left that I was closest to looked up at the line forming to my right and said were you all here first because I’m trying to figure out who is checking out next. My daughter and I had been standing there quietly waiting for several minutes. She gave me an evil look and said well you’re not in the line so I don’t know. Then motions to the woman at front right to come and check out. While I just continue to stand there and say, miss there was no one else here when I got here. This line formed after I got here. She checks the woman out and then motions me to check out, saying well I guess you’re next. Normally I wouldn’t be too upset. It was that her tone was very rude and uncalled for. I spent $ 80 on shoes and I was treated very badly. I just wanted to leave the shoes and walk out, but I decided to just bite my lip in front of my daughter. After we walked out my daughter said, mom why was that woman so rude? I said well, maybe she was having a bad day. I felt as though I was being scolded and no customer should ever feel that way. The woman was white with blonde/gray short hair and looked maybe 50. Someone really needs to retrain her on customer service. I’m not going back there.

The store hours are from 9:30 to 10:30…I went to the store around 10 pm, and I was treated with a condescending attitude. One of the employees made a point to inform me that I was the only customer in the store, felt uncomfortable the whole time that I was shopping, like the staff did not want to be there… or did not want me to be there. I have been shopping at various Ross-locations for a while(not only the Tyler store, but other stores in Texas in Las Colinas and Waco) I was never treated badly in other stores…

Ross is great for their prices. You can find almost everything cheaper here — clothes, socks, kitchen appliances, household decorations and accessories, etc. The main downside of Ross is that it’s cluttered, and you have to sift through things to look. If you find an item you like, you should purchase it because chances are there are only one or two in the whole store, and it most definitely won’t be there when you come back. Usually a busy store and lines are long. So, if you can get past the people and clutter, you can usually find some great gems of items for cheap. If you’re looking for an organized, up-scale store, Ross is probably not for you. However if inexpensive is your thing and you don’t mind spending time to look, try it out!
