Amazing little place for the middle of Texas! :-P Food was great, the staff are amazing, and Texans are awesome! I’ll definitely come back to find all three the next time I’m back in town.

Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. had a 7 o’clock reservation and didn’t get seated until 9 o’clock. Once seated they came back to us and asked us if we minded getting up and letting someone else have our seats because they made a mistake seating us first! Crazy, 2 hour wait with reservation. This is the worst experience I have ever had any restaurant

I was seated immediately, not very many people on the sushi side. Then I had to wait 45 minutes for a seaweed salad and 1 sushi roll. The salad was good but the shrimp in the sushi roll was old and lacking in flavor. Sushi rolls on a buffet has been fresher tasting. What a waste, won’t be back.

I got a cali roll for take-out and it was $ 4.88. It was okay and they put more avocado and less cucumber in. That could be because of the salmonella problems with cucumber lately. All the servers and hosts were nice.

Great place. I’ve been to a lot of hibachi grills. This was the first place that had a different show than the rest. Good job guys! Great food also.

To go order review only! Called order in 30 minutes ago. Said would be ready in 25 minutes. Not ready. Still sitting at the bar. Pretty sure they didn’t bother to put my order in when called. Show up to bar to tell them my name. They repeat the order and hand me ticket to pay. No big deal, but I’m sitting at the bar seeing how the bartender who takes to go orders. She is extremely busy and trying to be relational to her full bar .She must have been too busy worrying about making tips for her bar and not to go orders. Totally understandable. Don’t call it in on a popular night. I called it in on a Thursday at 6pm. Be aware they are busy and their call in system for to go orders is weird. Not the staff fault. So order comes through 20 minutes after. The bartender does a great job to let me know it’s not right and fixes it. Much credit to her for that. They also gave me a free beer while I wait and all the confusion. Credit!
Again, this review is for just for to go orders only. Good job guys.

Stopped in while on vacation. Food and service were great. We have gone to several different hamachi and this ranked one of the best in service. Very impressed!

Excellent service, excellent food and menu selection. Went for happy hour for the $ 4 hot sake and menu of apps, salads, and rolls at half price. Ordered the sashimi boat, seaweed salad, fried gyoza, and some amazing Ahi jalapeño tempura which are fresh jalapeños sliced longways, filled with ahi tuna and cream cheese, dipped in a very light tempura and flash-fried, served 6 to a plate and drizzled with eel sauce. Amazing new find for all of us. We ordered a second plate! The Shogun #2 roll was a huge hit! Staff was very attentive, ambiance relaxing and comfortable. The cloth table linens were a nice surprise, and tables are not littered with sugars and ugly soy sauce bottles, instead the soy was housed in adorable little«pots» which poured simply and easily. Took my teen for her birthday. They surprised her with a warm freshly baked strawberry cupcake with candle, set on a chocolate drizzled plate with whipped cream poofs topped with maraschino cherries. After singing to her in English and Japanese, asked her to blow out a very long candle which promptly turned into a silk rose when extinguished! They traded out that magic candle/rose of theirs with a beautiful fragrant long-stemmed red rose. They outdid themselves in all areas. Fans for life!

Nice facility and I chose bar area seating as I preferred solo act this evening. Having Tuna Roll sushi and a Scallops dish. Tuna is good. Soup side I rarely eat but did taste. Nope, I still don’t much care for it. Nice salad but same with the soup thing. Am stuck on my own made dressing. Was good here, however. Decided on Spicy Tuna roll also. It was really good but small portion. The Scallop dish was ok. Scallops a little overcooked but… well they were just ok is all. I would not return.

I’m from California and moved here from Hawaii… I know most sushi is previously frozen but I have still been apprehensive to try it in TX but man, this was great!

The wife and I visited this establishment last night for a quick sushi meal, and a few cocktails. The staff was super friendly, and very accommodating. We were attended to right away, and the bartender Tony, went out of his way, to make sure that we were well taken care of. The food was spectacular, and the service was fantastic. This place somewhere that we will continue to give our business to. Great job!

The food is always good, but the employees are SORUDE. Every single time we have eaten here, we have been met with so much attitude. Do yourself a favor and go to the much better location at 3521 S. Broadway. They are always friendly, better service, and less chaotic atmosphere. I want this location to close.

Great atmosphere and good food. I sat at the Sushi Bar for a quick bite to eat on a Monday night. Service was good. My waitress was very attentive and super friendly. I didn’t venture out this time and just opted for to Classic Rolls… The Philadelphia and the Spider. The presentation was simple but the flavor were on point. I wish the temperature of the cream cheese roll was colder, but that might just be a matter of personal preference. The Spider Roll was perfect. I’d definitely come back here again.

Wow! I am a sushi snob and this place was amazing. The rocked it all the way. Fresh, creative, pleasing to the eye environment. This is our new favorite place. Chef Maurice is the best! You have to try an UNI shot… Even if you don’t like UNI. We had a seaweed salad, the jalepenos, tuna nachos he created for me, shrimp tempora. I wil be dreaming of it all every day until I go back, and then it starts all over again.

In town on business. Now this is a Gem of a place! Very friendly staff! Great sushi chef! Have Nuke take care of you! He made me some hand rolls and brought me Hamachi Kama, which is Yellowtail cheek. It’s awesome! Totally recommend Shogun to anyone for a great meal!

We usually go to Yamato but this time I had my son and brother who have never been to a hibachi grill so I thought we will go to Shogun since it was open earlier than Yamato. We got there and was seated s few more people came in and was seated. One more weird guy came in a sat with us, you could tell he was going to be a problem. The customer kept causing problems so the cook did not even give us a show, he just cooked the meal, no entertainment. I apologized to my family and asked for the manager. I told her my family has never seen how they entertain when they cook. She said so sorry, I will comp you your drinks. I WILLNEVERGOTO A SHOGUNAGAIN!!!
