Bail Bonds and Electronic Gps Monitoring:

After a person is arrested on a criminal charge they may be held until trial, unless they furnish Bail, the jail or court will set bail according o the bail schedule determined by the Superior Court Judges. Posting Bail requires the defendant to secure the full amount of bail assigned by the court. The Eighth amendment of the Constitution prohibits government from imposing «excessive bail».

Electronic Gps Monitoring:

House Arrest, Home Detention, Global Positioning — House arrest, electronic monitoring, or home detention are types of alternative sentencing that limit and/​or monitor the defendant’s mobility. The participant is fitted with an electronic device or ankle bracelet. This ankle bracelet monitors the whereabouts of the participant at all times. The participant may attend necessary functions, such as school, work, church, and other activities approved by the program’s administrator.

History

Established in 1989.

In 1989 Mr. Williams a Viet Nam Veteran started Mel’s Bail Bonds with the intention of helping individuals who found themselves arrested and incarcerated in the county Jail. He believes as citizens we are all Presumed Innocent. Being arrested and accused of a criminal offense can, and most often is, the most traumatic and frightening experience a person can go through in their entire life. Our office often receives these frantic calls from the defendant or loved one asking a fundamental question. «What Happened to our Rights?» Believe me, when you’re sitting in a cold jail cell with nothing but dirty cement floors, a metal communal toilet, steel bars with seemingly excessive bail and charged with a crime, the last thing you want to hear is: «I am sorry — We can’t help you» as if to say your Guilty!
