There is not one flaw here. The service is fantastic, the food is the best Peruvian food that you will EVER try. You really get what you pay for and never unsatisfied. Just walking into this restaurant will make you feel like you made the right choice today.

My three-star rating is solely because the deceiving way that they automatically add a gratuity to the bill for groups of 3 or more, without notifying the customer or listing it on their handwritten bill. The food is authentic Peruvian and consistent with the delicious meals that I enjoyed in Lima. I strongly suggest the ceviche and the papas a la huancaina for appetizers. The portions are large and enough to share. The typical Lomo Saltado is fantastic and the Arroz Chaufa is out of this world. Unfortunately, there is no way to request any changes(such as arroz chaufa instead of white rice) but, there enough to ensure a take-out bag. Had the parrillada(mixed grill) a few weeks ago — everything was cooked well done(never asked by our server) and the meat was sliced very thinly. Despite advertising as a Parrillada(steak place), any typical Argentinian place beats Dany’s. Service is hit or miss. Very attentive when taking orders but completely neglectful once the food is served. Good luck getting a drink refill. With all of this, the prices are very affordable. I’ll surely return because of the food but lower my expectations of great service and closely monitor the bill.

First off my starter«anticuchos» I asked to be served first came out with rest of my mains«2nd anyone who has ever had anticuchos knows they come served on a skewer, there’s aren’t they are all pre cut and served on a normal plate ’ they came out warm and did not have grilled flavor more like cooked in a pan, being this place specializes in parilladas it dosent feel like it 2nd order lomo Saltado and chaufa de res Both had steak over cooked was tuff and chewy ‚ Service is so slow not rude just inattentive, Finished my food waited 20 minutes before I finally had to call a waitress to clear table and give me my bill ‚ There is a fast food style service, nothing more, nothing fancy asked for picante last bring 2 small prepackaged portions of it, not even opened for me or put in serving plate like mc Donald’s asking for extra ketchup ‚ At the end ask for Bill took forever Bill included tip I was a party of 3, and if I didn’t over look the bill I would of double tipped and no one would of said anything, I understand in a party of 6 – 7 plus but not 3 to add tip and they not saying anything ‚ I complained about the food, there excuse is we are busy sorry ‚ So this is why I’m writing in Unilocal cause I know it goes in 1 ear out the other and service and food does not improve ‚ Also table next to me ordered picarones and I was going to order them and I asked them how it was, he said it tasted like plain taste didn’t have traditional taste of squash, good luck if they are busy

I come here with my family very often its a good place with lots of good food. The best time to come is during the evening especially when they turn on the sports on the flat screen TV. There is free parking in the back of the resturant which is very convenient. The only problem is that at times at the beginning of the day the service can be a bit slow.

I think for anyone who is serious about food, they all have personal«watershed» dining experiences, where it opens up their palate to something they’ve never had before, redefines all past and future experience, and recalibrates their gold standard for a particular dish or cuisine. For me, Dany’s was a watershed moment for me and Peruvian cuisine, and more specifically ceviche and Chifa(or Peruvian-Chinese cuisine). Authentic, generous portions, and moderately priced, the white fish ceviche and chaufa(Peruvian-Chinese fried rice) are a must. The ceviche is melt-in your mouth tender with a vibrant acidic note of citrus that is counterbalanced by the sweetness of large kernel corn, sweet/regular potato with additional spice notes of cilantro and red onion. Simple yet impossibly addictive. The chaufa or the Peruvian take on Chinese fried rice with a unique combination of spices, is outstanding with an excellent char from the wok, perfectly fried and seasoned rice, and further enhanced with their spicy pepper sauce on request. On our most recent visit, one of my sister in laws’ mother who is a Cantonese restaurant cook, commented that even she is unable to make fried rice this good, which is about as high a compliment as I can think of. I also highly recommend the soups, especially the seafood soup, which is like a less acidic and more buttery cioppino with a velvety briny broth loaded with mussels, fish, squid, and shrimp. Add a fresh squeeze of lime to further enhance the natural sweetness from the seafood. Other popular items include the hand-blended milkshakes with fresh fruit, the large mixed grills including offerings such as beef heart/liver that I would imagine what it would be like to attend a backyard barbecue in Peru, and traditional dishes like lomo saltado, causa, and chicha morada(purple corn drink). From being one of the first meals I shared with my better half to having them cater for post-wedding brunches and baby showers and many more family get-togethers to come, a meal at Dany’s will never cease to be anything short of a personal benchmark of Peruvian food past, present, and future.

I guess I am a creature of habit, I’ve been coming here since my parents discovered it when I was little. If you want anything grilled this is the place to be! I drive all they way from home(30mins away) just to pick up food! Their«parillada» platter which is a mixtures of bbqed meats and chicken is amazing! Def enough to feed five even with only meat, sides are separate. The only thing I would complain about is their breakfast, definitely more of a lunch and dinner restaurant. None the less I will continue to come back, it is Peruvian food after all!

Disappointed. This place is usually ok, but today is the second time that the food was cold and the waiting time was over 1 hour. Dany where are you? This place misses you.

Food was descent but not happy with them adding the tip in their hand written bill without mentioning that the tip was added in the total. Once you pay the receipt has a section for you to add the tip, it almost seems that they try to get the person to tip them twice without the person’s knowledge. Service was slow, they only have one waitress for the entire place and my table was ignored even when we were requesting cups for our drinks. Not sure if I would like to give them more service.

This USE to be one of my favorite places to go. But tonight will be the last time. The food was disappointing. We ordered the tallarines verde and they were tasteless and watery. The jalea was overlooked and what is up with adding a tip automatically for 3 people. The manager was even giving us a hard time for sending the food back. Never again!!!

For a party of 3 or more they automatically add tip such a stupid thing to do, you lost my business, she honestly didn’t deserve it. Ugh such a bad taste, watch out.

My party ordered shrimp soup, seco de carne & grilled pork chops. It was all Delish and the portions were very generous! Would come here again however I think service needs a small revamp. I had 3 different waiters and no one would bring what I requested. Overall nice place great food.

Ok so I just happened into this place because I went with my boyfriend for a photoshoot and didn’t eat as I should have so upon the recommendation of the Colombian photographer we went here because the seafood was suppose to be off the chain. I had some amazing fried fish platter that would feed a nation and my bf had the steak with rice and sunny side up egg, and whatever the dressing is for the salad(just a simple iceberg with tomato with corn) delish!!! the staff was laid back but pleasant and refreshing happy which was infectious. Don’t know if I will find myself in that area of NJ again but will definitely be on the hunt for a Peruvian restaurant here in the city with the hopes that the atomsphere and food are as good as this place.

Simply the best! Meat was very tender and flavorful. I would recommend pork chops and chicken.(the steak gets a bit tough). Great portion, and very cheap!

You must try the calf’s heart dish and the morcilla sandwich with the potatos. The chicha is an awesome drink you must try. Their sugar coated cookies are great too. One of the more authentic Peruvian restaurants in the nabe but the décor blah

walked in after leaving havana sandwich, although I was not greeted, the host was nice, sat my self. Entire ordering process was smooth, I ordered the liver on the grill with a side of rice, and salad. Good was served in a timely matter, and flavorful, I do wish the waitress came by a bit more often. Otherwise I would recommend this restaurant. You won’t regret it.
