This is the best indian grocery store to go to in the bay area! The staff was really friendly, they had everything I needed! Oh and they have samosas on the go Can’t beat that! Thank you for the great service. I will be coming back soon.

WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER EXPERIENCED!
I called ahead of time to make sure they had a certain item I was searching for, and they said they had it. So I made the trip to go straight there after work, and after having to go through like 5 employees (they didn’t know if they had what I was looking for so they kept asking the next employee), they finally get the manager and I asked where the item is and she tells me they don’t have it. Pretty upset that I made the trip, I told her I had called ahead and asked, and she shrugged, rolled her eyes, and walked away.

Bad customer service what else can you expect from Indian store bought some bangels I was told that I can’t try them on I bought it and when I got home it was a wrong size I went back the same day and they wouldn’t exchange it and never got a refund the owner was very rude.

This review is mainly for their threading services.
Some friends wanted to run some errands and dragged me a long here. Somehow, I was coerced into getting my eyebrows threaded for the first time. As I guy I hesitant at first, but i eventually gave in. We noticed that quite a few reviewers had a woman name Kuldip do their brows, so I requested for her. Although I was apprehensive at first, she was very kind and performed in a quick yet gentle manner. I thought it would hurt a lot more! I also appreciated how my eyebrows did not seem over done but still looked fleek. I was shocked at how many people noticed how nice they looked.
The grocery store is also pretty nice.
Kuldip is the person to hit up here! Thank

I always had a hard time finding someone to thread my eyebrows and I have to say that Kuldip is a truely gifted person she had fit my eyebrows. I am not sure how she was able to do so, since I have a scar on my left mid side eyebrow, it basicly looks like a gap in between but after Kuldip thread my eyebrows I can say that I do not even notice that scar. Kuldip is amazing.

This store is AMAZING!!!
I just recently moved to Union City near the Bart station. I was looking for a threading salon and stumbled across a lot more. The salon was a little busy since I did not make an appointment, I started to shop while waiting for my turn. This is by far the largest Indian grocery store I have been to in the Bay Area.

This is the best Indian Grocery Store I have ever visited. Great fresh produce with lowest prices in town. This store is cleaner than any other Indian store out there. I highly recommend it for your Indian Groceries, Sweets and Snacks.

Please do not shop at bharat bazaar. I got the zebra brown rice and within few weeks almost the entire bag was full of bugs. When I took the bag, they only refunded what I gave them. Also there was a rat on the ceiling that the staff was trying to catch. It’s a dirty and nasty place.

I would like to give them negative stars, if possible. I live in Union City, but prefer to go to Cash and Carry in Fremont because of the bad service and the bad quality of vegetables they offer. First of all, this place should be called Pak and save because these rude girls find it beneath them to bag your groceries, please put a sign up if that is your policy. Second, most of the time, they offer no variety of veggies. I can go on about how much I dislike them but these are my main issues. I would like to see some decent people working there.

We used to shop at Bharat Bazar sometime back but really stopped going there after our last couple of visits. It’s a large place and they have a good selection but they are dirty! There are flies around the onion and fruits area! Seriously, that’s horrid. The vegetables are not fresh either. Also I hate that about 15 minutes before closing they switch off the lights and you will need to scuttle around looking for items in semi-​darkness. They do carry a few unique items such as the deity altars, which I bought from them and really like. That’s why the extra star for this place. The minimum bar for a grocery story should be cleanliness. They don’t meet that. They can certainly improve this area as they have a lot of other things going for them including a large area.

Bharat Bazar is bigger than the average Indian grocery store. clean store, accessible aisles, (not cluttered). didn’t really check pricing. steady flow of patrons,
guessing pricing reasonable, or this is a good location.

This is one of the ncier indian grocery stores I’ve been to. The place is big, well organized and is generally not too crowded either.
All the items here are fresh and clean and the prices are reasonable. Its possible (although I’m not sure), that prices are marginally higher than at other places, but totally worth it if you dislike the general unorganized experience at most indian stores.

The stereotypical Indian store is dirty, musty, and unorganized. You would think that’s just how I remember these kinds of stores when I was growing up and things have changed now, but sadly the state of affairs are more less the same for these stores.
But this location of Bharat Bazar is actually clean. It’s actually organized. It actually doesn’t have that distinctive Indian store smell. And they actually have a modern checkout system and take credit cards. It’s like Indian stores have finally entered the modern era.
But all of the niceties wouldn’t matter much if the products were lacking. But they have a good selection, with reasonable prices. We get things like grains, dahls, basmati rice bags, and big bags of cheap spices. Oh, and my favorite, the frozen parathas!
Best of all, it’s in our new neighborhood, so it’s super convenient and we’re here every weekend. Check it out, y’all!
