Century 25 Union Landing and XD

Not sure why this place has 3 stars. I have been coming here for eons and I get the best service. Smile, extra butter, patience with my rowdy and one confused boy. Customer service at its best here Always. You just have to remember to put a smile on you to get a smile back.

Been going here in and off since 2004. The place is okay at times but some times it’s kind of ghetto. The restrooms, even when it’s not busy on a week day after 10 am to 1 pm, can get dirty. The carpet has popcorn everywhere at times too.
There is a few newer movie theaters down toward Freemont that is better. I say, go here if the other places are packed and sold out.

I really enjoyed the movie options and several start times for each show. We decided on London Has Fallen, it had Morgan Freedman, Gerard Butler and Aaran Eckhart. The movie is based in London and several world leaders arrive for a funeral and it gets exciting from there. It kept us on our toes the entire time. I felt it was well worth the cost to see.
We went to the 6:30pm show on Friday night and there were only about 20 people in there. Perfect timing as it was getting very busy at 830pm when we walked out. Seats very comfortable.

Unfortunately this time around the place looked so horrible and unkept that it was impossible to not contract any illness by the end of the cinema!!! This theater was not cleaned at all post the previous show !!!
The manager seems to be hardly concerned when approached !!!
Deplorable treatment and attitude !!!

I really like this place its huge and the snack bar is bigger than the one that i usually go to at another theater. This place did some major improvements sents the last time that i was here some years back it was really ghetto and no security to enforce anything more than half the time I wasn’t even able to enjoy my movie due to the loud obnoxious kids who rather be on their cell phones then paying attention to the movie.
But that was a long time ago I’m really liking the improvement the people there have exceptional customer service they also did a quite a bit of improvements in the video arcade room although they did take out DDR which was my favorite game in the Arcade

With the new IP man 3 movie starring Donnie Yen and Mike Tyson just being released in Bay Area theaters, my wife and I decided to travel to Union City California. This is our first time here at the Century 25 Union Landing Movie Complex.
The complex is huge ! With its snack bar in the middle of the lobby, the smell of freshly popped popcorn permeated throughout the theater. There is something for everyone to watch here from Disney Movies for the kids to the latest action packed movie.
The reclining seats were cushioned and quite comfortable. The complex was clean and the staff very friendly ! There was also plenty of parking near-​by. The only issue we had today was when my wife wanted to buy ice cream at the small snack bar near our theater entrance. The freezer with the ice cream was locked, so we had to wait 5 minutes until the manager had a chance to come by and open it.
In conclusion: a wonderful place for the whole family. «3 Solid Stars» in my book !

Poor customer service. The kids at the desk just sit there twiddling their thumbs instead of calling out to customers in line. The theater itself is very dirty.

All the century theaters near Fremont are cool and comfortable. The only problem with this location is that the parking sometimes could be a problem.
Especially over the weekends and Friday nights finding a parking is hard. But nothing to complain about the theatre as such.
Surprisingly I have also seen a lot of Indian movies here.
In all the seats and the theater s pretty comfortable. Btw I hate all the amc’s

I like this place. Nice comfy seats, pleasant staff and clean restrooms.
They have special rates on Tuesday. I just got back from seeing a movie. Nothing beats watching a movie mid week!
Food is expensive as is in all movie theaters.

This used to be my go to movie theater when I was in high school. I remember coming here ever since I was little with my parent. However, as years gone by a couple other movie theater popped up in the East Bay, so I stopped coming here. One reason is because the other movie theater have better seats (leather) and just look better. This movie theater is a bit outdated and old. Second, their bathrooms are super dirty. Does anyone ever clean the bathrooms these days?.
I went to Century 25 with my friends this weekend since this theater was closer to them. I didn’t know that they updated their interior. So the seats are leather like material. I was fairly impressed. Throughout the movie, I was quite conformable and was really relaxed in their updated seats. I really liked their cup holders lol.
This is one of the bigger theaters around the bay area, there are many show times for a particular movie which is good. This way if you miss a movie or if your friend is running late, you will not have to wait long to catch the next movie time.
The popcorn here are still as yummy as I remembered when I was in high school. Still expensive popcorn, yet still so addicting. Everything else is still good so if you want to watch a movie in a really comfy seat then this place will be an exciting place to watch movie.
Price here is still okay. But of course, I went to costco to get my movie tickets.
FYI: They have special deals on Tuesday for $ 6.50 all day for a movie ticket which is a steal. If you want to save money make sure to go on Tuesdays.

The usher are so unprofessional, d rather chit chat then helping you out the security guards are on a power trip and the nachos are super bad from now on I go to the Block. Century 25 dead to me even though it’s across of the street from where I live.

I come here to watch Indian movies (Languages: Hindi/​Tamil). This is the only theater that screens most of the Indian-​Regional movies which I really appreciate!
Pros:
— Big screens.
— Large number of theaters, around 24 to 25 on total.
— Special screening of movies. Currently, DISNEY movies are shown ONLY IN THIS THEATER. They provide passes, Daily — $ 5 (4 movies in 1 day); Weekly — $ 10 (Unlimited Admission for 7 days); Monthly — $ 20 (Unlimited Admission for 1 month); Quarterly — $ 40 (Unlimited Admission for 3 months). For tickets info, check the theater box office.
— Good variety of snacks in Concession stand. During my recent visit, I was thrilled to grab an Indian snack «Sukhi’s All Natural Potato Samosas» (Vegetarian). It tasted awesome, not bad at all.
— Spacious lounge near the concession stand. Have around 5 to 6 tables & chairs to sit & munch the snack leisurely.
— Above Average cleanliness in the common areas.
— Huge parking lot.
Cons:
— No Reserved seating like Century Cinema 16
— No Recliners like Century Cinema 16
— Straight line Seating arrangement fail to provide excellent view from any corner of the theater.
— Annoying arm rests in seats. It’s not flexible at all. They should better give us an option to move up/​down.
— Seating is tight and leg room space is very minimum.
— Only Average Cleanliness inside a theater. Arm rests are greasy most of the times.
— Badly maintained Restrooms.
The reason why I compared Century 25 (Any Other Century Theaters for that matter) with Century Cinema 16 is, we pay the same price for all the century theaters and yet are forced to face many compromises with the formers.

Their ticket prices are about average for the industry… which is actually a setback for this particular Century location given the circumstances.
I’ve gone to the movies here over 20 times and over 80% of those moments it’s been a mediocre experience. While this location does have a nice variety of food to choose from, which is definitely appreciated, the clientele that come here are very rude. Very talkative and disruptive, no matter the type of movie you’re seeing. Understandably it’s difficult for a theater to monitor each movie screening to ensure an optimal experience, BUT theaters can (and many do) project what they expect from their customers. I don’t feel this theater does an adequate job of letting their patrons know they need to be respectful to their fellow moviegoers. Either lower ticket prices or enact policies to help control the environment.
All that said, I will commend the theater for playing more than just upcoming movies: They have Disney Screen, they bring back classics to the big screen (e.g. Back to the Future trilogy), and they play foreign films for the demographic that lives nearby. They also accept MoviePass.

I will never in my life come back to this movie theater. The staff is beyond rude. I knew from the moment that we walked in we should have gotten out money back. We were singled out from the moment we got here. we had a cup of coffee from Starbucks (which they also sell in the movie theater unbeknownst to us). I understand that ppl have a job that they have to do and carry out but it’s the manner of respect that you do it.
The ticket girl tripped out about our coffee and wanted us to throw it away. When I asked to speak to a manager she called over someone who pretends to be a manager (later we found out that she had not authority) so «back her up» We had just paid 30 bucks for 2 tickets and they was tripping off of a Frappé and a cup of
we went back to the box office to get out money back (it was based on principle) When I told the girl at the box office what happened she went above and beyond to get the real Manager who said it was ok for our coffee…
So now we are inside and walked in another movie for a hot sec. then came out and got popcorn. Then we proceeded to our movie. We were sitting down for about 3mins, then security came in questioning us about our tickets… I’m like fuck, just within that time (re:the coffee incident, we misplaced the tickets) So we showed them of BofA App (which we didn’t have to) that we just pairs to get in here. But that wasn’t good enough. So they tried to kick us out.(Which I think happened because we complained about the Starbucks)
I was so pissed off I returned the pop corn (thank God I asked for the receipt) and we left. I will be calling their corporate office about the harassment that we received from the moment we arrived till out exit. I noticed them following us when we 1^st got there and I should have listened to my gut and got our money back when the girl lied about being the supervisor.

The smell of butter and freshly popped popcorn invades your senses straight from the parking lot. I’ve been watching movies here since it opened back in elementary school. They recently replaced their seating with plush and super comfy leather seats. I watched a two hour movie and only moved once because of how nicely I sunk in the seat, it’s almost like memory foam.
If you frequent century theaters, make sure to sign up for their concession stand coupon emails. It’s a different coupon each week. I love the free small popcorn coupon (worth $ 5.05) with purchase of a medium or large Icee/​soda or sometimes box of candy. You can upgrade to the larger sizes by paying the difference. $ 1.50 more for a large & free refill? Don’t mind if I do! I kind of miss the unlimited refill option from more than a decade ago but they’ve got to make money somehow.
Relaxing seats, surround sound, and great clarity in 25 theaters. Sit back and enjoy the show.

One of the better theaters I have been too! I like having a cup of Starbucks coffee during a late night showing. There’s caramel popcorn and a bunch of other options (even Samosa) too, sorta pricey but that’s to be expected.
The arm rests don’t go up, but the seats recline back. The theater and bathrooms are always clean. Theater staff is always friendly. (They don’t notice «double showings»)
Disney Movies is a cool promotion right now too along with 6 $ Thursdays. Parking is a struggle, but we just park by Michaels and walk… everyone needs steps on their Fitbit anyways ;)

This place has been one of the hot spots of Union City for a very long time. Finding parking on opening night of any major blockbuster is a nightmare.
That being said it has set the standard for all my movie going experiences. Sure I’ve been to bigger, cleaner, more luxurious and fanciful movie theaters… but this is always going to be the standard.
It’s spacious, plenty of theaters, and always a nice movie experience. Would be nicer if so many kids didn’t go to this theater and kick the back of my seat for every superhero film, but they can’t help that.
When I feel like treating myself to a major movie experience… there are other theaters I prefer. But if I just feel like watching a movie with some company on a whim, this is always my go to.

My go to theatre! They always have plenty of showings for the new movies and a couple for some movies that have been out for weeks! There are 3 snack areas: one in the main lobby and 2 smaller ones in each wing. There’s also an arcade.
They have discount Tuesdays! Movies are $ 6.50 all day :)
Reason being for –2 stars: sanitation. The theatres have been dirty for the past 3 times I’ve been here. Either they aren’t cleaning up the seats after each showing or they’re getting lazy. Not sure what it is but the cupholders tend to be sticky or with trash– or both!
I’ll keep coming here for movies but seriously… It’d be nice to sit in a clean seat.
Also, try the jalapeño cheese hot dog– SUPER GOOD.

Parking can be a hassle if you go during the lunch or dinner rush, mainly on Friday and Saturday nights but for matinée times, parking was stress-​free.
A failed attempt at the Oakland Zoo so my daughter suggested the movies. It was either Inside Out (we both watched already), Max, or Jurassic World. When she picked Jurassic World, I was both shocked and excited. I have been wanting to watch this movie but it was great that she wanted to watch it, too. My son, Gavin whom will turn 4 this September does well in theaters; he sits still, is quiet, and rarely asks to use the restroom. I seldom buy popcorn, too because of the concession prices and because everything is junk. Both of my kids do not annoy me when it comes to snacks and/​or drinks at the movies.
A very spacious area for people waiting to purchase movie tickets. The signs were placed in a way that was easy to read. The gentleman that helped me was friendly and even said that he enjoyed Jurassic World very much.
The suspense increases. Even more.
The auditorium was huge, clean, and offered comfortable seating. I was able to watch the movie comfortably. In fact, I fell asleep during the previews. It was THAT comfortable!
Jurassic World provided me w/​some heart racing scenes, a few tearjerker scenes, and unbelievable graphics. Both my kids sat and watched, concentrating like their mother. At certain scenes, my kids and I jumped and screamed a bit, haha.

Ok I’ve been to this theater like a million times. Probably ever since it first opened
I like this theater cuz it’s:
— close to home
— big! 25 theaters and the big ones hold like 300 people or something
Although it was the closest one to me, in recent years I started to go to the Fremont one because it was newer and cleaner with hella nice seats. I only went back to UC one for Jurassic World and I was kinda shocked they got new chairs! idk when it happened but I am really happy with the new leather seats that make me feel a lot better about it’s sanitary state.
I am also happy with the cool props they have up now. I went to watch JW on opening night and rushed to get into the line inside of course. They actually have the JW car out front! but sadly it was gone when I left the theater. I wish I took that selfie earlier. Oh well, now I know.

Lines are usually always out the door but it’s worth it for the nicer neighborhood! All show rooms are usually pretty clean at all times with lots of seating and comfy chairs.
Never had an issue with employees, and their food always seems a lot fresher than other theaters, but there is also tons of food options all around if you’re looking for a full meal. You will hate having to find a parking spot, good luck!

My experience with my son here was pleasant. The seats were replaced with luxury let her seats, the theatre was clean, the employees were nice, wasn’t crowded, my pop corn came fresh out of the pop corn maker, the bathrooms were clean, parking was easy, movie was fantastic (Avengers), and we felt safe.
I will return.

This past week I discovered that Cinemark in Union City as well as in Hayward, that i know of, now have $ 6.50 Tuesdays. It is one of the bigger theaters and have all the latest in cinema playing.
When you walk in, the ticket counters are crowded. The staff at the ticket booths move the line pretty quick. Don’t look at the lines and think coming here wasn’t a good idea, it goes by quick.
The popcorn area also moves quick. they have a wide selection to choose from. The ice cream counter… they could use some help to speed up that area a little. Especially, when your trying to make it to the opening scene of your movie. Just have your fingers crossed that the icy machine is working and that the soda mix is done right, other then that the popcorn is fresh and you have a wide selection of snacks.
The ticket area is quick. Where they rip your ticket very’s at times. Could be in the front or back to theater entry way.
I noticed my last visit here they have changed out their seats. All leather. No longer do you find these seats in the Main theaters for 3D or Digital Screenings but in a few others also. The screens are huge, sounds is top notch, and nearly every seat is perfect of watching a movie.

Wow this place was THE place to go to when I was in still in high school. And although it is still an awesome place to go to watch a movie since they have 25 theaters, this place definitely needs renovation or better upkeep. This place already feels older in comparison to the one off Pacific Commons. I’m pretty sure if this place was cleaned up more often and had new signs or new anything, I would come here more often.
Even my parents choose to drive all the way to Fremont just because it feels better and not as janky. The food here is kind of a hit or miss. Sometimes the popcorn is fresh and other times I feel like I’m eating what’s been sitting in there since the beginning of the day. Besides that the theater itself is still great. Having 25 theaters means lots of show times and the 2 big ones used for major box office hits is enormous. Most likely still the biggest ever in the Bay Area.
