Considering the neighborhood this restaurant is in, you can’t compare it with high end restaurants. For those people complain about service, this is a local neighborhood kind of place so please lower your expectations. Comfortable seating, flavorful food, what else can you ask for? Both the fried chicken and fish we order wish cook perfectly so they were nice and juicy. 4 stars simply because I don’t give out 5 unless it really blows me away. Yeah, I am a fan.

Service horrible, food is only fair and too expensive for what it is. I only speak English but went there with a friend that speaks Spanish. Waitress comes over and says something in Spanish and my friend orders in Spanish. I order in English and point to the entrée I want, she turns her head in disgust and says to my friend in Spanish ‘I don’t know what he is saying’. My friend says ‘he is pointing to it on the menu and she just gives more attitude. My friend orders for me in Spanish and that started the tone right there, how dare someone order in English in New Jersey was her attitude. She then didn’t acknowledge us until all the food came bringing us drinks, appetizer and main entrée at the same time. If they don’t want English speaking people so be it as we are never going back again. This place is out right racist. If I could give negative stars I would. I’m sure they won’t read this since no one in the restaurant speaks English.

There chicken, fried rice and yucca fries are delicious! Very reasonable prices for the amount of food you get. My new go to sporting Bergenline for Peruvian cuisine.

Their prices are fair. I used to come here a lot when i lived in Union city. It’s better to order your food in the restaurant than to deliver.

Service is beyond terrible. I called twice to get a question answered and they failed the first time the lady on the phone answered I told her I had a question she said ok can you hold on. I was on hold for about 10 minutes and someone came and hung up. The 2nd time the same lady picks up I told her I was the girl she left on hold she was like oh so I ask her my question she responds with attitude and kept interrupting me just to put me on hold once more. I hung up and just sent someone to the store to place the order since I was trying to order because I was at work. I work with customers so I can say this is horrible service as for my food it was alright it was supposed to be arroz chaufa with chicken. There’s barely any chicken. From prior orders I considered ordering today but now I think I’ll think about it twice next time

Went here recently for a guys night out. Their Yuca sticks are like French fries on steroids, a little greasy for my taste but it comes with this amazing green chutney looking sauce. I ordered their purple corn juice for my drink, which is a bit sweet! but quite good, ask for ice. Try it, you might like it. I let my cousin order my dinner since he has been here before. My dinner was basically fetucchini with that delicious green sauce I talked about earlier. They have a hotter brown salsa thing if you want something spicier, ask for it. The food potions are huge so unless you are super hungry, you might want to share a dish between 2 people. Over all it’s pretty good, but my favorite thing ended up being the sauces so for that I can only give 3 stars. Unless you’re a local, it’s a good place to try once. One and done son! The good thing is it opened me up to Peruvian food, gotta thank my cuz for that. I will definitely try similar food in different cities.

Holy **** the food here is legit. Stopped for dinner here with the squad and loved every single thing we ate there(personal favorite was the Yuca a la huancaina). I would have left a 5 star review, but the service was a little on the slow side and they are a cash only establishment.

Moved from Maryland and was desperately searching for a new Peruvian chicken spot and this is the closest I could get to Pollo Rico. I always order the Half chicken combo with fried rice and its sooo good. The chicken is not dry like i have had in other chicken spots in this area. The seasoning is not the same as Im use to at Pollo Rico but the yellow and green hot sauces they give you make up for it. Service can be slow sometimes which is why i knocked it one star. Looking forward to trying their ceviche and tallarines verde. Prices are decent.

Ordered half-chicken, Jalea, Chaufa Mixto, and Papa Huancaina(takeout) and it was all spot-on! The waitress even helped me carry my food to my car because my giant 2-year was sleeping in my arms. :) Definitely will be back!

I love the Chicken and the ceviche here it’s always on point and yummy(the 4 stars are for that). The rest of the stuff on the menu is OK. prompt delivery is always appreciated. Table service is Ok here as it’s hit and miss. Sometimes it’s speedy and sometimes you age waiting to get your order in or for anything else.(2 stars for the service)

Great food and affordable. Dont eat there, the restaurant stinks. it smells like dead mouse. it smell cause of the fish store right next to them. THeir green spicy sauce is so damn good but they only give 1 per order. if you need more, you need to buy 4 for $ 1. but the food is good.

I live in the area and being Peruvian, I like finding local native restaurants. I’ve been coming here for years, and the food is always on point. In the summer We came and ordered the fish ceviche, and it was amazing! Their lunch special, for a mere $ 7.50, was gigantic, including a very hearty soup, choice of 2 entrées, and a glass of chicha, which is a purple corn sweet drink. Everyone from the oldest to the youngest child, left this place happy. I came here again last week, for the lunch deal, however, they have earlier openings, and they now offer full Peruvian breakfast until 1pm. The majority only do this on the weekends, so I ordered the chicharrón&fried sweet potatoes… the crackling cld’ve been crispier, but I loved it. Nice presentation. I ordered a lunch special to go, the Lomo of course, and it was smaller than I expected portion wise, when I opened it at home. But the flavor was good. They have good stuff for sure, and the waiters are very patient! I would have given 5 stars, but for 1 thing. There’s a fish market next door, and I believe their smells, are somehow wafting through the walls. I had never smelled it before… ever! This is definitely a new development. I seriously don’t think it’s their fault, but if I wanted to take friends, the smell might be a little rough for some to handle. For me, I got used to it after about 20mins! I would still come here though, the ceviche was that lovely!

So I haven’t been here in a long time, and a friend of mine told me she recently went and had a great time! I couldn’t help but go and find out if this place had gotten better and to my surprise it did! Just left from there and all I can say is wow! I tried the Ceviche Mixto and my boyfriend had the Chaufa de Pollo, the food was so delicious. MY ceviche mixto had a lot of seafood and a great hot kick to it. I couldn’t keep my hands off my boyfriend’s plate, the rice had such an awesome flavor! The service was awesome, our waitress was very sweet and suggested we try there signature dessert: Alfajores, we literally bought the last ones! The prices are sitll high compared to most restaurants on bergeline avenue but honeslty it is worth it now. I am so happy I gave them another try! can’t wait to go back :)

Found it on Unilocal and this place is great! Ordered mixesd seafood ceviche, chicken combo with white rice and sweet plantain as a side. Ceviche is the best ! Chicken combo has good flavor to it but don’t like texture of chicken(very dry). Sweet plantain is superb too. And as it’s world cup time they also have 2 tv which is also a plus for sports lover(and of course the channel is speaking Spanish which I knew nothing about.) Keep in mind there is only street parking(quarter for 30 mins is not bad at all) but it may be slightly hard to find a spot on bergebline ave — you may find something the street north to it. Overall it is a good experience– it was slightly pricer than what I thought(given the $ on Unilocal) but it is still okay and with food portion is large. Will definetly come back to try out more dishes.

I came for Lomo Saltado & it was excellent. I tried this spot cuz many people Unilocal!that it was good and it really was very good: good portions, very good quality meat, fresh, & nice people. Little loud with the music & babies crying. Interesting note: the lemons were so fresh & plump. Like you can squeeze one and get a small cup of lemonade! :)

I called after the time they were closed because I was in the area. They asked me what I wanted(for pick up) and they made it for me. It was delicious! I received good customer service even though it was after hours and really good food! I usually travel to Paterson from Hoboken for amazing Peruvian food but I am so happy I found this place closer to me! I wish they delivered to Hoboken! BTW I ordered the lomo saltado which my Cambodian boyfriend is obsessed with!
