UYE: Anna D’s Crowning to Elite 2010

i’m so sorry I missed most of the celebrations! I came out as soon as I got off work at 11:30 in Santa Clara.
Walked into Gerry’s… looked around… and my heart sank. The party must’ve moved on. I guess its back to South Bay for me, gave Anna a quick call and headed back to my car when lo and behold I see some familiar faces crossing the street. =D They led me back to the after party and I was able to give my regards personally. Hung out for a bit and then had to drive home for work in the morning… *sigh*

It was a great time spent hanging out with everyone who came out in full force to celebrate Anna’s Birthday. It was great to see the birthday girl touched and genuinely happy to see so many come out to celebrate her special day.
There was great fun and the merriment continued at Chevy’s and then afterwards with more drinking and eating and celebrating.
Happy Birthday, Anna! Now there’s no excuse to imbibe with SBC at the YEEs!

It was a pleasure organizing and celebrating Anna D’s birthday here at Gerry’s Grill! ! !

Since 2008, Anna D has been the driving force of delivering the infamous carrot cake to our events and finding all the awesome froyo places in the East Bay. It was sad that in the summer of 2008 that her elite badge was taken away because she did not meet the age requirement to remain Elite. So I made note to celebrate this event when she turned 21.
Now that you have your Elite badge back and you did somewhat well on your first night of drinking legally, it gives me great pleasure to have you join us now at all the UYE’s at the clubs and bars! Also, you can now fight for your RSVP’s for all the elite events!
Happy Birthday Anna!!! And to Pawan as well… that’s Anna D’s boyfriend.
Thank you to the Ms. Hotness aka Ligaya T (East Bay Unilocal Community Manager) for the another Unilocal Elite Hoodie and Unilocal swag. And yes… sadly again… I lost my the Elite hoodie on this night. Hannah never got one so I gave mine up to her.

HAPPY BDAY ANNA and Pawan? I didn’t know it was Pawan’s bday too. I thought he already turned 21. Okay tells me how much I know.
As usual Unilocalers came out in full force and dress with Unilocal all over. As always had alot of fun and got to catch up with peeps I have not seen awhile. I hope Anna had a great time cuz half the time I didn’t know where she was. lol. Anna enjoy being 21, after that the next bday to look forward is 30. lol.
So Anna how maybe bfs do you really have? LOL.

Yay! We made it out! DAMN I miss the Unilocalers.
I had a great time. The band was awesome. It was great to see all the love for Anna D.

Once again Happy Birthday. I had a blast at this event. I was in Emeryville w/​co-​workers and it was 8:45 when we were leaving when I said, «I can’t face since I already told Anna I would go, Oh why not? The night is still young so Union City here I come! «I’m glad I did bcz it was great.
The music was grooving and was able to see my Unilocal Friends as well.
The beers hit the spot and (on top of the earlier ones I had) he he
Ligaya, Wanugee, Darryl, Serbelle and of course Vy were there and new friends Dennis, Hannah and Hogan.
The best and funniest thing was that dude dancing by himself. I hope nobody on Unilocal knows him but we were all cracking up. He was having fun. HAZEL WE MISSED YOU!!!

it was a good night filled with hanging out with friends, celebrating anna’s 21^st, and just watching anna be drunk. i don’t know what else to say that others haven’t already. so i’ll end it here!

A fittingly awesome birthday event UYE befitting our own little Anna D. — all grown up now — so hard to believe =)
Double bonus that it was also her bf Pawan R.‘s birthday — how cool is that!!! Happy Birthday Pawan!!!
Great location and planning — kudos to Walter P. for setting this up. Gerry’s Grill was a perfect location, full of awesome FIlipino food, beer towers to make a grown man cry with delight (I dubbed the two towers on our table Orthanc and Barad-​dûr haha — yes, I’m geeky like that ;p)
Best of all, live music by an awesome eclectic group called B.T.A. (Back. Together. Again) LOL — 5 stars for originality =)
After a ton of food, several beers and an awesome cake (with some «interesting» moments (hint, hint @jonk!!! LOL)), a few of us stepped outside and enjoyed cigars as the crowd that turned out to wish Anna a Happy Birthday kept swelling ranks! So many friends and Unilocalers — East Bay, South Bay, San Francisco — they all turned out in force! It was fantastic to have the lovely Ligaya T. show up with Unilocal schwag and Unilocal gifts for Anna =)
Later, we moved the action to Chevy’s across the street and closed out the evening relaxing and detoxing at Luis’s digs — so appropriate that the evening ended at the home of her best friend and biggest well wisher — thank you for opening up your home!
A memorable evening indeed (one that I actually remember LOL) — Happy 21^st Anna — all grown up now but you’ll always be my baby *hugzzz*

Anna… you’re 21 now! So, you’re finally out of reasons to not partake in the spoils of your Elite Unilocal Heritage that you have been denied for so so so so long. Dont worry, we’ll start slow to build up… erm, your tolerances. We’ll rotate the highly respected role of Hair Holder that you have brought so many accolades to. Hopefully we can find someone to uphold everything that you have raised that title to and maybe to even higher heights.
See that. after all this time which seemed like forever ago… from rabbits, to carrot cake ladies and transformer hoodies… all these people from all over the Bay came to celebrate you! I’m just glad that I was able to partake in the festivities. Hope you wake up to have a great bday hang over from your single drink. ok, 3 drinks. lmao

When I first met Anna in 2008 and as young, charming, cute, and adorable as she was and still is, I’m old enough to be her father.
Now that she just turned 21 and officially inaugurated as an Elite Unilocaler, South Bay Unilocaler and SBC leader Walter P organized a birthday party for Anna at this exciting Filipino restaurant in Union City called Gerry’s Grill.
Her birthday meal comprised with assorted and popular Filipino cuisines. Unilocalers split a couple of 144oz Beer-​towers filled with Hefewizen, in which her first official alcoholic beverage was a pint glass from one of towers of brew. And chatting with many of the SBC Unilocalers about the food and beverage, this restaurant is definitely worth a return.
I ate prior to my brief appearance to her party. So I went to the bar and bought a Cranberry and Vodka. For $ 8.00, I get glass with a mixture of cranberry juice and choice of vodka. And damn right, I opted for Grey Goose Vodka. And yes, many of my favorite Unilocalers compared the color of my beverage with a Flaming red glow on my face.
There were also a birthday cake and two huge boxes full of Apple-​Fritters. As disgusting as the group of the fritters looks, I can’t look at that.
When we turn 21, I’m sure many of us had friends buy you a buffet full of alcohol.
Unilocalers did that and bought a variety of beverages for Anna. Despite having a nice of amount of beverage indulged in her system, she handled that night very well.
«Turning 21» is a fun event to get together with friends. Kudos to Walter on organizing a fun birthday party for Anna and Pawan (also same birthday with Anna on March 5).
Now she is an official Elite, we’re looking forward to see Anna more at upcoming Elite events, .i.e. Holiday party, in which she desperately wanted to go.

To know Anna is to love her. Always smiling, with a kind word to everyone, she’s not only adorable, but now legal… for Elite Unilocaling, that is. ;) I remember first coming on as the EB CM and was super impressed with Anna’s Unilocaling prowess only to find out she wasn’t able to party it up with us. I kid you not, I marked my calendar with her birthday MARCH 5^th, so that one day we’d be able to welcome her into the fold with a badge and a clink.
I’m so happy to say that day has come! Of course, all good celebrations begin with gluttony. Bringing together a lively bunch of East and South Bay folks, and even a few SFers, we gorged on scrumptious Filipino eats until pancit came out our ears. My mother’s people would be proud! All the while the drinkers were filling 22oz pints from 1000z beer TOWERS. These cylinder of brew magic stood almost a yard high off the table. Crazy! I couldn’t have imagined a better introduction to Union City. Thanks for the warm welcome, so good to see all of y’all. Three cheers to Walter P for organizing!
