Server was above average food was good enjoyed my meal. Just the place to go if you like a affordable meal. It won’t knock your socks off as far as the atmosphere or anything just an average restaurant as far as décor goes.
Didn’t really wow me hence I can’t quite give 4 – 5 stars but wasn’t bad either so 3 stars here.
Overall would recommend this place! Casual diners most welcome here. Breakfast was good I enjoyed my French toast! Eggs were over easy im not a fan of those because when you cut the yoke it’s runny but that’s my fault, not theirs because I ordered the same thing my friend did! Next time I’ll try scrambled! Next time maybe a 5 is possible but there’s room for improvement nonetheless Ya?

Very good burgers. Ordered carry out and food was ready when promised.

so you would think since I love French fries and hamburgers that I will like this meal

the hamburgers here are foul tasting. it took a while for the odor to leave my mouth
the hamburgers are nasty and it has to be because most hamburgers I like
the service is ok
I like to stay the fuck away
that way I don’t have to worry about the foul feeling in my mouth

Wow. Just wow. Drop what you’re doing and head to Menches Bros for one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. They have 50 burgers and I’m going to work my way through them «Julie & Julia» style.

The blue cheese burger with sautéed onions is great — the blue cheese was a little one sided on the burger —
need to add more blue cheese and even it out across the burger good tasting burger even though — $ 8.99
8. The Blue Cheese Burger Melted crumbled blue cheese and smoked bacon top this burger.
The sweet potato fries were delicious– the onion rings ok a little like Burger kings’ onion rings– AND the most disappointing the only service Pepsi products
The waitress never refilled our ice tea — not once — I was even hacking up a lung when she came to the table — nothing

But after the Blue cheese burger — nope I was satisfied with the blue cheese burger with fried onions– mmmm

I’ve been here 7 times now. I stop in when I’m picking/​dropping people off at the Akron Airport and need a place to eat before/​after. It’s also a great stop after hitting up the wine trail. Onto the food.
I’ve had several different burgers. They are cooked to perfection and are sizable. The chicken fingers are great. The wings are flavorful. And lastly, the salads are made with fresh ingredients and you receive a hefty portion.
The service is great. I’ve yet to have a bad waiter/​waitress.

Excellent food! Delicious! My family and fiancé family all went here to eat and hang out and everybody said there food was awesome! Definitely going back!

My mom lives nearby so I’ve been here a dozen or so times over the years. Their burger list is incredible! There are a few with some slightly odd topping combinations. Most recently I had the miss piggy. Their sweet potato fries are delicious. We’ve also been here for a buffet… perhaps for Mother’s Day? Service has always been attentive as well.

I have to qualify this review before you read on. I’m reviewing two hamburgers we had at the National Hamburger Festival in Downtown Akron. We did not visit the restaurant, but did enjoy Menches burgers off-​site at the festival Akron after seeing a show at the Akron Civic Theater. With that said, the «King James Burger» was fantastic! Pepperjack cheese, jalapeño peppers, crispy onions, bacon, and Rajin’ Cajun sauce. My only issue was that it seemed really salty. The peppers were just the right amount of spicy, and the crispy onions were dee-​lish. The bun was good, and the sandwich was not too messy, requiring only one napkin. My date requested a gluten-​free cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce, which was also very good. Sides were not offered at the festival, so we didn’t have anything else. The service was really quick, and super friendly. All in all, a good burger experience!
We’ll have to stop at the restaurant sometime soon.

The food was fantastic as is the wide selection of burgers to choose from however our waitress wasn’t the most polite or respectful. She wasn’t bad but she could have been better. Food is great though I highly recommend the burgers.

This restaurant is a local favourite and always delivers good food! The prices are fair and the service is quick. If you are looking for a filling meal, stop here!

I work in the same plaza as this restaurant so I really want to like it, I just find the food to be inedible. I have tried 4 different meals from this place in the 2 years that I have worked next to it and they have all disappointed me.
They are supposed to be known for their burgers but I can name several fast food restaurants with superior burgers. I like my burgers to have a little pink in the middle but they don’t offer that which leads me to believe they use frozen patties and the taste reflects that. I have also tried their french fries and chicken tenders after working a 12 hour shift and not eating all day. After a couple bites I just lost my appetite and threw it away. I would never eat here again.
Also, the one time I actually dined in at the restaurant our waitress was not very pleasant and the man who sat us was down right rude. I don’t know how anyone eats here.

Awesome burgers! I had the sauteed mushroom bacon burger (#11) with chips and hubby got the babalouie burger. Great food and I am totally in love with the house-​fried potato chips! Always a must-​visit when in town.

Went here for lunch and got a burger to give it a try and for the price you couldn’t get a better burger and it comes with fries! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the are looking for some great food and a really nice overall atmosphere with daily specials and a fully stocked bar if your looking for cocktails after dinner or a nice place to catch a game on tv and have a few drinks. The staff was very nice and courteous and tried their best to be as hospitable as possible! Thank you Menches Bros. Will definitely be returning for another burger in the near future! Highly recommended!

Ate here for lunch on a Monday. Came here for the burgers and they do have 50 burgers. I ended up getting the King James Burger, which was good not excellent or bad just a good burger. Their homemade chips were pretty awesome used them to scoop the cup of chili I got. The chili was pretty good just like the burger… Not excellent or bad just good chili. Also wanted to try the milkshake so I got a chocolate one and it was just like everything else just good.
The service is really good here. Servers are very nice. Décor inside has a homie feel. I would come back if I was in town.

Usually great food, but it saddens me to have to write this. Ordered the pretzel for sppetizer, and a burger for entreee. They both came out at the same time, which was 5 min past my drink being empty. The burger was so overseasoned with pepper it was horrible. when i told my waitress she was very apologetic, and took it to fix it. The manager comes over and says” So i heard you have a problem with your burger?” Then proceeds to tell me that there is no way it could have been over pepperred because there is no pepper in the kitchen. Im not talking just a little over seasonning im talkibg it felt like someone dumped the lid off of the jar on accident type. The manager then says they will make me another one, which i will kindly feed to my dogs, and put her hand on my sholder… DONT TOUCH YOUR CUSTOMERS… I will bot be back because of the manager, but the sweet tea was good.

Was there on January 12 about 4pm. Ordered a burger with ranch, relish and bacon. Good burger. A little sloppy. But that is not a bad thing. Good fries but too salty. I don’t know why restaurants have to feel you need so much salt on your food when there is salt on the table. My only criticism is that I think the hostess and server need to be a little bit more energetic!!! Both seemed tired and either ready to go home or not feeling very well. Would I return? Absolutely!

Had the Babbalouie burger (with sauce on the side) which won a «Best Burger» award. It was AWESOME! !! And I am, admittedly, not a burger person. 2 patties, cheese, sauteed onions, and sauteed mushrooms. Paired with the most amazing freshly fried potato chips. Can’t wait to come back!

Menches Brothers is just one more reason the Akron area has done more for American cuisine than your city.
This restaurant’s claim to fame is the not necessarily how good the food is – I’ll cover that in a little bit — but their contributions to Americana. They invented the ice cream cone, the hamburger (although this claim is disputed by others), and Cracker Jacks. So, in other words, it wouldn’t be a stretch to blame this restaurant for all of America’s dietary problems.
For such a historic restaurant, I wasn’t expecting it to be a pub. Not like that’s a bad thing. I mean, name one bar with better food in NE Ohio (other than Louie’s on Glenwood, Happy Dog, and Melt Bar & Grilled).
I was stunned how comprehensive their menu was. They have 50 burgers on their menu, as well as your standard appetizers and pizza. While they’re probably best known throughout Akron for their burgers, their Perogie Pizza — yes, such a monstrosity exists — was actually named the 8^th best pizza in the United States by Parade Magazine.
I decided to keep it simple for my burger, so I got an Original but replaced the mayo with chipotle mayo. The fries were above-​average, served neither too greasy nor too dry and salted just right. However, the burger was much better than I was expecting. It was cooked well done (which is standard here), and I cook pick up a bit of charcoal in the hamburger. The toppings were all fresh, but surprisingly the chipotle mayo made this burger a force to be reckoned with.
Good thing I only work out down the street from here, because I’ll be coming here much more frequently from now on.
