Get the coffee, skip the food. I’ve been here several times, at different times of the day. I have no idea why they only have ONEPERSON making coffee on busy mornings. Makes no sense. The coffee is good though and I highly recommend it. The food is mediocre at best. Pastries are ok, salads are blah. Not impressed.

This place is terrible. They have a monopoly at the 1440 Universal Comcast building so they really have no incentive for good service. Their food and coffee is not bad but the staff is in serious pretty clueless. My first time there, they forgot my order. My 4th time there, I had to remind them of my order. My 6th time there, they forgot my order again. After waiting 15 min, I told the cash register girl that they forgot my order. She didn’t even apologize and just walked away from me to help the next customer. I went up to her and said«so no apology? you just walk away and my 15 min break is just waisted? She just looked at me clueless with a look like«what’s your problem?» This place is the only place to eat at my work and I’m never going back there again.

We just moved over to this building for work and I must admit, I’m definitely going to get use to coming here for a quick breakfast/lunch during the week. I don’t understand the 1 star rating because every time I’ve been here the service, wait time and food have all been great. I heard they are going through some sort of work disputes right now and they are short staffed at the moment, but the workers there are doing a wonderful job taking care of business. As for the food, one day I ordered the egg, cheese and sausage breakfast sandwich and it hit the spot. The ciabatta bread was toasted and buttered perfectly. The sausage and cheese were heated perfectly and it almost we tasted better than a sausage mcmuffin. I also ordered a salad from there and although it didn’t have the right stuff I ordered, it was still on par with your typical salad. I will definitely be back and I love how quiet and clean this café is. Highly recommended! OOOO 4 out of 5 Afros

Went to my first concert at Specialty’s Café this morning… Oh wait, it wasn’t a concert. They just choose to play music so loud that you can’t hear yourself think. Came in at 7AM and it had already started. This location is at the base of an office building. Vast majority of the people sitting in the café are either working on their computer or talking about business with others. It is a meeting spot for business but they don’t get it. After sitting down, I asked the person who took my order to lower the volume of the music. I was the only one in the place so assumed it would not bother anyone. Got a smirk and a «sure». Still loud. At least the wifi is good so I can post this review. Next time I will go to someplace a little more quiet… maybe Staples Center. Oh, but at least the coffee is bad.
