History

Established in 2014.

Our story: Two college graduates join forces, fusing both of their popular wing trucks into one brand name, WINGIT.

In 2011, Wing Xpress originated the idea of a Wing truck from a class project in an entrepreneurship class while Daryl Smith attended Texas Southern University. After turning a class project into a striving business, Wing Xpress built a celebrity clientele as well as a student following in the Houston area. In 2012, having the same ambition, Bernardo Baxter, a UTSA alumni and former football player, created a huge following himself in the San Antonio area with a similar concept called Count Down Wings. After meeting through a mutual friend the entrepreneurs brainstormed a possible collaboration, but it wasn’t until the closing of Count Down Wings that the ideas would actually seem practical. In 2014, they stumbled upon an old restaurant location in Kirby, Texas, it was only right for the guys to take a leap of faith and create a joint wing spot that they now call, WINGIT.
