Established in 2010.

Barron Family Medicine was started as an effort to control expenses and reduce the number of patients we see each day. This slower pace allows us to deliver more comprehensive care. Our smaller panel means we can see patients for visits the day they call. We believe we are delivering ‘concierge’ level care while still accepting traditional insurance.

Dr. Michael Barron received his bachelor’s degree from St. Louis University in English Literature in 1987. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1990 and served on active duty as an infantry office until 1994. He then attended St. Louis University School of Medicine from 1997 – 2001 and did his residency at St. Louis University’s Family Medicine Residency in Belleville, IL.

After finishing his medical training in 2004, Dr. Barron practiced in several locations in Illinois, working for Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation, and on the faculty of St. Elizabeth’s Family Medicine Residency. He is currently serving in the US Army Reserve with the 325^th Combat Support Hospital. He has been deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait.

Dr. Barron has a strong interest in practice design and reimbursement reform. He is an active member of Ideal Medical Practice, a national movement to improve primary care.
