A great hole in the wall place for your snowboards and skateboards. Amazing selection of everything! I’m so glad there’s a place better than the Huge brand name stores.

Love skate shops that display old school skateboards. Nice collection of old school and reissues. Very cool staff willing to let you gauk.

Took my son to get a complete deck. The crew at NWS took the time to educate my son on the products he was purchasing for his board, the science behind the trucks and really made his feel at home there. Absolutely no judgement! Aaron and the crew were totally on point, super friendly, and went above and beyond in customer service. I look forward to future visits to their shop and recommend anyone there for snow and skate needs!

I expected more from the Owner who’s been in business for 30 yrs BUYERBEWARE! LONGREVIEWBUTMUSTREAD!!! I came her to buy my long board and was 5 star satisfied, but the 2nd visit was a disaster. I was going to surprise my wife by buying her a custom made long board. The buying process was a good experience overall. Before I proceeded to buy the board I asked Aaron if they take returns because I was worried my wife would not be into boarding. this is his exact words«as long as you return it and it has NOT been ridden on we will take it back for a complete refund» So a few days later we go on vacation for my wife’s birthday and it looks like she’s not going to ride it after all. I take the board back when we come back form our vacation(brand new, not even stood on) on 07⁄14 and Aaron says oh when did you get it, I told him 06/26/2014. and he tells me, «oh we have a 10 day return policy» I asked him why he didn’t tell me earlier as I knew I would be out of town. and he said that’s our policy… I ask for the manager and Aaron tells me hes not in until 07/17/2014, I ask for the store # and decide to call the store next day 07÷12÷14 instead of waiting just in case and what do you know Matt the owner was just in and I missed him. I asked for them to leave him a detailed msg and have him call me back. NOCALLBACK. I call back on 07/17/2014 and I get Matt on the phone, explain the situation and this is the worst part of my experience Matt states we have a 10 day return policy, I tell him that the employee failed to tell me that when I was buying and that the tiny receipt they gives you for the sale has no return policies, nor does it state anything on 10 day returns. Matt states Aaron is an exceptional employee and knows policies really well. I tell Matt that regardless of how good an employee might be he failed to state the policies to me and that I wouldn’t have bought the board if I knew the policies because I was worried my wife would not be the boarder type. I tell him that I asked Aaron the return policy and stated his answer as seen in 1st paragraph of this review. Matt continues to ask me details of the situation and what kind of board I bought and when he heard that I had it put together custom he tells me this«oh it s a custom made board? we don’t even do returns on those» I ask him why in the world wasn’t that mentioned to me when I was in doubt that my wife might not be the boarder type. of course a manger/owner cant answer that because we are all humans and sometimes ppl slip and make mistakes. Matt continues to tell me that there are policies and he can give me in store credit only as exception, I tell him 2 things to this 1) As the store owner he can bend his policies(that he makes) to keep a customer(I have referred multiple ppl here) and live in UP for 15yrs myself, and work in customer service. 2) I don’t shop there for anything else and the store credit would be useless. I paid cash $ 300.00 At the end of our 26min conversation Matt states that the he will give me a refund but it will have a 25% restocking fee(highest they can charge) so basically I will be out $ 75. Owner did not go out of his way to please a good honest customer, They failed to notify me of policies or have it on their receipts and still trying to get money off me. They have great products, BUTHORRIBLEMANAGEMENT. AVOID, BUYELSEWHERE

The best customer service I’ve ever received at a snow shop. If you thought that Evo or Snowboard Connection was good, NWS is on a whole ‘nother level. I live in Renton, and honestly I would make the drive just to come here. This is why I love family owned shops. Not to mention — free waxes for a year. Also, you know it’s the best snowboard shop around when there are 3 Subarus parked outside on any given day.

Northwest Snowboards covers every aspect of being a good shop. They have a lot of inventory, a knowledgable and friendly staff and they have fair pricing. With everything in the snowboard industry moving towards online sales it is easy to forget that shops like NW Snowboards are what helped build snowboarding into what it is today. I would rather spend my money with a family that cares about snowboarding than at a mall or online shop where snowboarding is just one of their«departments».

This store is pretty new, it definitely has a snowboarder culture to it. Although it’s new, it’s a family-owned business for 20 years and this is their third store opening in the South Puget Sound. Here’s their website: The staff is pretty knowledgeable about the equipment they have. I got my board waxed here for $ 12, not bad. This place is a lot closer to where I live, so I won’t be driving down to Sports Authority anymore! I haven’t bought anything else here except getting my snowboard waxed. The snowboard selection is somewhat limited compared to Sports Authority. They seem to cater toward people who want or have the money to buy premium snowboards; their price ranges from $ 300-$ 550 for their new snowboards. Probably won’t buy their snowboards at these prices but definitely will get my snowboard waxed here again.
