I grew up with a mechanic for a father, so I’m a huge sceptic when taking my car in for any type of service. I found Bates Auto about a year ago and I will never take my car anywhere else again… EVER! The owners Henry and Mike are honest, don’t try to upsell you on things you don’t need and their prices are reasonable. They will even work with your budget. Feel pretty blessed to have found this place… I hope this post will help someone else find them too.

Found Bates Auto from a friend and its great to finally find an auto shop I can trust. Henry and Mike are super friendly. Very affordable and honest about repairs.

Hello. First of all. Don’t be skeptic. I am just a normal guy. Not a employee or anything other. I took my car because he had good reviews on Unilocal and I went with the Unilocal reviews. Took my car for a front brake special on Unilocal for 99.00. And a oil change for 19.99. 132 dollars out the door. Great deal as is. But I got a call. Said. You want the good or bad news. I was like great. What is he gonna tell me is wrong with my car. How much. Well. Bad news was. My brakes didn’t need to be replaced. Just cleaned. Bad news was he wasn’t gonna make that much money. He still cleaned. Did my oil change. Rotated my tires. And filled up my fluids. And told me instead of 132 my bill was 52. Wow. I am shocked and satisfied. I will bring all my business to this shop. Honesty is hard to find. And since I did. I won’t be going anywhere else. I hope you guys use this Unilocal and do the same. Hard to find anyone honest in this business. Thanks again.

I found bates automotive on Unilocal and the negative comments must have been having a bad day or something. I contacted Henry for just a quick quote and he went above and beyond for me. He called his vendors for the best price and got back to me with a full quote.
When I got to the location it was nothing but great customer service. Henry greeted me and not only did he get me started but he had already ordered the part I needed so I would not have to wait once I got there. He also had a lot of referrals for other SUV issues I have that he may not be able to fix.
Overall I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. Thank you Henry for the great work and advice on future repairs. I will defiantly be back.

I took my car here a few months ago for an oil change. The mechanic did a great job. Good customer service and I only waited 30 minutes for it all to be done. I recommend this place.

Bates auto shop they have moved to 958 w. 9^th st. The are amazing. They know what they are doing. Very experienced, honest polite mechanics. A RARE FIND! I will definitely bring my cars here for maintenance.

This post is long overdue! Ive been trusting George with all of my cars servie needs for over the past 10 years… Probably the only reason I keep some of my older GM vehicles is because I can trust George’s reputation and quality of work… I live 75 miles away from his shop and have never, will never hesitate driving or towing in a vehicle. Thanks for all the good years of service George!

George has been repairing my vehicles for several year’s. The reason I continue to go there is because of his honesty. As a single women I need to trust my mechanic, for I do not know much about car’s. and whatever diagnostic’s he find’s I know he is trustworthy. I have told many of my friend’s about him and they have also been pleased.

I often always read Unilocal for reviews but have never posted one myself. After getting my car repaired, I decided this would be my first. George has been my mechanic for years and he’s always been great. The best quality about him is that he’s honest. Its very hard to find a good ethical mechanic. Example: My transmission was majorly messing up so I thought I would need a new one (Major bummer since thats $$$) but then found out its only a sensor. Most mechanics would replace the transmission even if it wasn’t needed.

These guys are really good at what they do. They Chevys like nobody else. I’d recommend them for any light or heavy repair, along with the ability to do custom stuff.
