Benavidez Michael A Dr

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Michael Benavidez, DO., CEO of Benacare Medical Center Inc.
He owns and is CEO of many offices. I originally assigned myself to one of his wonderful pleasant doctors. That doctor I really liked and had seen twice but unfortunately she left her position at Dr. Benavidez business.
Next, I ended-​up being assigned to Dr. Benavidez the CEO, which I thought would be a good choice; WRONG!
First the medical assistant asked me a few brief questions; which I answered. Then she told me of a two issue limit and then started asking more probing medical questions which I had previously disclosed «only» with the previous wonderful doctor. I said. those details are on file and I didn’t want to go into further personal details with her. I asked her if she was a nurse?; she replied yes. I asked her «are you a RN or a LVN?» she then said, that she was a medical assistant. I told her I simply wanted to share it with the Doctor. She kept, over-​and-​over insisting that she needed more detail to my adequate response. I repeated myself and said, «it’s in the chart and I didn’t feel the need to share my personal information with you,» and then I stated succinctly that topic was not going to happen with her. She then said doctor wants the detail information on the chart before he enters the room. I said it’s in the chart already and I will share it with him when he comes in. She left quietly annoyed.
The Doctor entered the room awhile later. I introduced myself and shared with him that I was already an established patient within his business and had multiple things «more than two» medically already in-​play I was immediately informed again now by Dr Benavidez that he «only allows ten minutes and two issues. because this is a family practice and people come in with a list of things.» I re-​explained that I am a continuing patient of one of his hired doctors and that I had more than two issues she was working on and that I had even been to the ER. *He repeated, that I would only be seen for two issues.*
I stated that seemed unreasonable and that I was trying to establish a relationship with him as my new doctor within his own business. He said with a condescending tone, «are you finished talking?» I said, as long as you are going to show me some respect.” He said that was the way it was and he then proceeded to personally choose two issues from the list I had begun with his medical assistant. He insisted that I gave them two issues when making the appointment which was untrue: I gave them more. I even tried giving the medical assistant more. Whether his people stop writing at two and just say nothing is not my issue.
i told him we would not be dealing with those two topics. He then said, as he was walking out, «I’m dismissing you as a patient as of today but will remain your doctor for emergencies until the switch happens.» I in normal voice, said, you are a jerk.” I then picked up my x-​rays and ER information I was going to hand him and left his office. I then reported his behavior to the state and then began writing this on Unilocal.
*I found the whole event very strange. To me he sounded like a businessman trying to maximize his time at the expense of following through with the proper way to hand-​off an internal patient from his own company’s doctors.
**Ten minutes and two issues seems like a way to guarantee repeat business from the same patient while giving zero care towards the patient’s immediate health needs or consideration for the time needed to repeatedly be seen; especially given his personal appointment schedule which is weeks into the future. .
Obviously, I would not recommend him. After writing this, it has reconfirmed my assessment of him; he is a jerk.
I suggest dismissing him from your choice of a Doctor.
He has four business locations that he personally benefits from.

Hopefully, Dr. Michael A Benavidez, DO., CEO of Benacare Medical Center Inc. will change how he treats people after feeling the effect that consumers can have when they choose to boycott his establishments.

This place is HORRIBLE! First of all wait times are on average an hour after your scheduled apt time to get in and usually about an additional 15 to 30 minutes until the doctor comes in. The doctors here like Olivarez and Benavidez are great but the overall office experience is not worth it. When it comes to referrals they take forever to process them and do it wrong half the time. This can cause major delays n be expensive if ur in need of treatment. They also have insane fees, we were charged $ 25 just to fill out a form saying we had our yearly physical done. First of all a physical is preventative care which u should not pay ur copay but they charged anyway and still charged us an additional 25 $ to sign our forms as evidence we had them done. Overall this place is a joke, they put you on hold for a looong time when u call, long wait on apts and unorganized personnel. We switched doctors and will not look back
