LaLa Sophia’s Bakery specializes in unique, gourmet baked goods. We make breads, cookies, tarts, pies, cakes and chocolates daily. Order ahead for your birthday, dinner party or event!

History

Established in 2014.

LaLa Sophia’s is a new business. The owner, whose nickname is LaLa Sophia, has been baking since the age of 10. She is a trained chemist who was working in the pharmaceutical industry for the past 20 years. She finally decided to follow her passion and start a bakery. LaLa Sophia’s bakery is committed to making a variety of high quality, gourmet baked goods from scratch, using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients available. And since she also happens to be a Lacto-​ovo vegetarian, these ingredients do not contain animal derived gelatin or animal based enzymes. We support local business and are constantly searching for local suppliers for eggs and dairy. We are also dedicated to developing a personal relationship with our customers, and welcome comments, suggestions and custom orders.

Business Owner

I started cooking and baking as a child. For as long as I can remember, I have been making specialty cakes, cookies and pies (as well as gourmet meals for dinner parties) for friends and family members. Feeling that I would not be able to sustain myself on the income of a professional cook or baker, I went to college, and finally graduate school, and obtained a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry in late 2001. I worked at a number of jobs in very prestigious positions, but would spend all of my free time at home cooking and experimenting with recipes. I finally decided this year, at the age of 40, to follow my natural-​born talent for cooking, specifically baking. And I am looking forward to sharing my best recipes with anyone who enjoys food as much as I do.
