Montessori Academy of Upland

I could not picture a better place to send my 13 mo old daughter. We looked at several child care facilities and even tried out 2 and were not happy. MAU does more than just «babysit» your child all day. She has learned so much since she has been there the last 5 mos. She was holding her bottle by herself on the very first day! They also do parent teacher conferences and daily keep you in the loop about your child. I consider this to be a hidden gem of Upland but they have great staff who cares about your child and will tend to yours/​your child’s needs. I would give 20 stars if I could and feel so blessed to have found this place, thank you MAU!

My daughter has been going to this school for a year and I absolutely love the progress she has made here. I moved my child to this school after a HORRIBLE experience at another daycare in Upland, so I can truly appreciate the love & guidance they take with their kids. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about this place.
The daycare my child came from, the kids were mean and the teachers looked like they’d rather be elsewhere. However, here it’s different. I can tell the teachers really want to be there with the kids and enjoy their jobs. The children, in return, seem to genuinely love and respect each other and them.
Their ‘hands-​on’ learning approach is one of the best draws of this school. My little girl is inquisitive, and helpful both inside and outside the classroom. She does very well at playing by herself and with others, and cleans up after herself at the school and at home! A lot of these skills I can say were honed from going to Upland Montessori! They are one of the best schools in the Upland area by far! I would highly recommend anyone looking for daycare for their pre-​school age child to strongly consider this school. Hands down one of the best childcare decisions I’ve ever made.
*In response to Joy & her «concerns», I must say I don’t think she really gave the school a chance enough to write a negative review. Yes, it’s family run and they are a little short handed in the office, but I see those as Minor hiccups in comparison to the quality of education they receive here. I understand the miscommunication about the hot lunch because I was a little disappointed myself — but it’s not a deal breaker! She took the child there for one day and then removed him because of a policy the school has not to interrupt the children during school hours. I was told of this policy upon enrolling my child and have seen the benefits of it myself. Going into the classroom to greet a child or hand them items IS disruptive to their learning environment. Hand the lunch off to the teacher, and then leave. You can see your child when you pick them up, or if you’re that concerned, watch through the video monitors — that’s what they are there for. The last thing any teacher needs is one child who is completely fine, seeing mommy or grandma, and then having a breakdown in front of the entire class just because you wanted to ‘peek in.’ I’m not even a teacher, and I understand this. The teachers do what is best for the children. If you had given your child a little more time at the school you may have seen how amazing it truly is.

My son and daughter both went to MAU and have done so exceedingly well at their current elementary schools, it is astonishing! The care that the staff gave to my kids went far beyond a typical «educational concern” — they treated my kids like family. I, like many families, owe a tremendous thank you to MAU and its staff for the advantage they have provided my children.

My 3 year old has been going here since he was about 7 months old. He loves his teacher and has learned a lot there. I like how the administrators are available to answer any questions and all of their efforts to continuously improve the school. Keep up the good work!

My son has been going here for about one year now. They are doing a phenomenal job, I recommend this school to any one who has a little one. Keep up the good work and thank you!

Great place! My son loves his teachers and he is learning so much. They also do fun outings! The teachers are so approachable and want you to you about your little one’s progress. Couldn’t ask for more
