When I was reading reviews on therapists to help my husband and I through a very broken and difficult for them, the ones that captured my attention were several about Renee that said she gets right to the point and doesn’t sugarcoat anything. I knew I needed that when my husband and I started therapy. I wanted someone to be blunt and honest. Renee doesn’t take sides and she calls it as she sees it. She is direct and gives you things to work on at home to truly help you change and grow. She basically holds a mirror in front of you to make you see what you are doing so you can take responsibility for your actions. Amazingly eye-​opening! Her experience allowed her to see who my husband truly was on the second session and Renee saved me from a lifetime of lies! She truly cares about her clients. I could reach her whenever I needed her and not just when we had an appointment. She checks in on her clients and makes herself available when it’s important to you. I highly recommend Renee. I am moving away yet I still plan on having phone sessions with her because she is that amazing! If you need someone to help your marriage or family, this is the therapist for you! If I could give her 10 stars I would!

My fiancé and I contemplated on seeing a counselor prior to getting married to set ourselves up for success in marriage. We had a difficult time finding a good fit for the both of us.
After the first visit with Renee I could see a difference in my relationship and most importantly myself. Sometimes you need a professionals input. Renee has made me see things in a completely different light and has been available for guidance at any time.
I am forever grateful to have found the perfect fit. The sessions are exactly what I’ve been looking for in our relationship. I really value that Renee doesn’t pick sides and is very down to earth. She won’t tell you what you want to hear, she tells you the reality.

Making the choice to get help was really tough for me: I was wary of having to meet a stranger who might not work out when time was of the essence, and even if I found someone I could talk to, I wasn’t sure if anything could be done to help. After reading her glowing reviews, I decided to make an appointment.
From our first meeting it was apparent that Dr. Winters is an expert in her field. She has an innate ability to identify root causes of issues, and no matter how detrimental or impossible they may seem, she tempers her understanding of the situation with empathy and a way out. Her contemporary, no-​nonsense approach to tackling issues is truly refreshing. I have been visiting her for several months; she is really good about responding to texts/​calls and her office is classy, comfortable, and immaculate.
Her high standards as a professional and desire to improve the lives of others is second to none. I could not ask for better counsel and lack the words to describe my deep sense of gratitude for her guidance.

Absolutely exceptional therapist. Her professionalism, experience, knowledge, intuituion and communication skills are unmatched. Sessions with her provide the insight, support, and truthfulness required for real growth. She has helped me tremendously with a variety of issues, and I am very grateful that I have her in my life. She is the best therapist I have come across. Truly cares about her patients and knows what she is doing. She did WONDERS for my relationship. What’s even better is that she doesn’t have this passive approach of «well tell me how that makes you feel» that most therapists have. She is direct and just tells it how it is. She is available via text any time of the day if you have a need to talk to her or ask for her advice (I’ve never seen this with anyone else that we have gone to before). I am so glad we went to her for our issues. I am truly thankful Renee. You are an exceptional therapist and counselor.

My fiancée and I have been seeing Renee for about 7 months. I have never been a fan of therapy or even thought it was necessary, but my fiancée said it was a good idea and we wanted to do something different to help us out in our effort to grow stronger as a couple. After first few sessions we knew this was definitely something we both needed. We both have gone to therapy before and thought it was ok, but Renee is awesome! She doesn’t take sides and she always is a straight shooter which I like. She’s someone that we both strongly recommend if you want someone who is going to tell you like it is and help you. Dr. Winters has referred many clients to me and visa versa. The one thing my clients always mention is how comfortable she makes everyone feel. She seems to connect well with each of her patients. Dr. Winters has also had her dissertation published. She currently has a book on Amazon called the Hoarding Impulse. Great Read! I highly recommend Dr. Winters if you are facing any crisis you need guidance on.

Renee is an amazing woman! Her knowledge, experience and passion for what she does is remarkable. This isn’t her job, this her passion. She is truly someone I admire, respect and fully look up to. She unknowingly inspires me everyday. I have recommended friends, family, acquaintances and even strangers to her and I will continue to do so.

Dr. Winters (aka Renee), is a rather different experience for me. I have been treated by religious or «Christian» therapists, so her approach to behavior modification, self awareness and therapeutic treatment, is much different to my previous experiences.
She is direct, she is honest, she is kind, but doesn’t waste your time with placating to your selfish emotional needs.
If you are looking to actually grow as a person, she is someone to seek sessions with. If you can’t handle the hard truth of your own actions, through a third party’s eyes, go elsewhere, because this professional doesn’t mess around with niceties for very long; she gets into the nitty gritty and works on pulling out your shortcomings, so you can truly experience growth and life change.

Renee has truly been a lifesaver with helping my husband & I get through some impossible (or so we thought at the time) obstacles with our teenager.
After seeing Renee for several months I am happy to say that we finally have a happy home again. Our communication has improved tremendously.

I’ve been seeing Renee for about a year now and she’s been great. I’ve always been pretty skeptical about therapy, but talking to Renee is more like talking to coach. She doesn’t throw out a bunch of theory and try to keep you coming back forever, she tells you the things you don’t want to hear but need to. It’s nice to have someone impartial to talk to about things you need honest, outside perspective. Well worth the money. Mention my name when you call and nothing will happen, but I’ll hear about it and feel cool. Don’t you wanna make me feel cool???

This woman has changed my life and saved my sanity! I cannot emphasize how awesome she is. I had tried seeing a few therapists before her and never felt that click of a mutual understanding that I feel with Renee. As I have been going through some unexpected and hard to deal with changes in my life over the last few months, I really have no idea how I would have ever made it through the changes brought about by this unfortunate situation I have found myself in. She is always available when situations I am unsure of how to handle arise to offer guidance and reassurance. I’ve had an excellent experience with Dr. Winters. I sought a local family therapist to help me and my wife with our recent marriage in hopes of forming a stronger foundation of communication and trust as we started a family. I had a lot of preconceived notions of what therapy would be like but found Dr. Winters to be approachable and straightforward. Dr. Winters is the best! My husband and I are newlyweds and it was important for us to find someone who could help us navigate the difficulties of being newly married. Dr. Winters has helped us with our communication and with tools to help us manage a blended family. I always thought that therapy was for people with «major problems», but I have learned that it is SO much better to be proactive rather than reactive. My husband and I are learning (thanks to Dr. Winters) how to deal with the everyday stresses of life and family without allowing them to become issues/​roadblocks in our marriage. Dr. Winters is great to see no matter what stage you are at in your life/​relationships. She listens and is understanding, but will also call you out when you are wrong. She is patient and kind, but won’t coddle you. She really cares about her patients and goes above and beyond to help!

My husband and I decided to try couples counseling after a few years of talking about it. We found Dr. Winters on Unilocal and based on her reviews we made an appointment. We were both very nervous as this was the first time either of us had been in therapy before. We were both amazed by Dr. Winters and her ability to show us how the other was feeling and thinking.
