Super 8 Upland

Hell no never again! after staying there almost a month, had to change rooms cuz the knob literally came off the door, loose fixtures also like lamps etc, plus plumbing issues and dont forget the ants … Not to mention the management! Don’t be fooled by the lil short manager who seems to be polite NOT!!! I BELIEVE HE’S PARANOID!!! refused my service thought we had a pets. NOT as soon as I started using Wyndham points for my stay his attitude changed very rude and disrespectful to me and my spouse plus had no consideration at all after staying there all the other times despite the conditions of the place it was convienant at the time for us.
Made us leave on the day of the funeral services. and made us over an hour late cuz we had alot of things and had to pack both vehicles with our belongings with no where to take them. Luckly a generous resident of the hotel offered to watch one of my cars with my things. Thankfully I returned for my vehicle just in the nick of time Because the manager ran out there ranting and raving was almost ready to have my car towed away and said to get off his property
like if I had done something to him personally. I don’t know what his problem is but I suggest they hire new management if they expect to do business because he definately does not have the proper standards of handling the everyday business skills needed for this type of service I heard also that someone broke a window there because of his treatment towards his customers so I can imagine what else has happened that the public is unaware of. He is rude and needs to learn proper English if he expects to live and reside in California. He is suppose to be supportive and proffesional towards customers as a manager and handle issues in the proper order not of his own thinking. I also had billing issues between the hotel and my credit card And insisted that he could not do anything about it. When I called my credit card co. They told me it was on there part and they would have to fix it on there end. He flat out denied and refused to even listen to what they told him to do. So I suggest that I would steer clear of this Hotel unless you want his nosey, imaginative and delirious self upon you. Plus if so it would be better to pay cash but expect to pay a $ 50.00 deposit as well if you do besides the overpriced room rates are insain for the service they provide plus you might as well bring your own breakfast or go down the street to eat cuz you might end up with food poisining as well cuz they serve sour milk with there sour attitude They really need to overhaul there establishment cuz for all the money that was spent on my stay well over about $ 700.00 was not worth my peace of mind. And I would never suggest anyone ever stay there unless there desperate I would of rather stayed in my car if I would of known better. I highly recommend that Wyndham disassociate themselves from that particular Super 8 because the manager wants to run his own program doesnt seem to like the point system that they agreed with. Also on the day we had to leave which was a Saturday Nov 7, 2015 The hotel Owner was also there and I tried to speak with him about the situation and he walked away saying he’s the manager whatever he said which is also very rude and unprofessional not even wanting to hear my side of the issue so if they our individually owned they should do there own business without Wyndham because they are giving Wyndham a bad name and reputation in which can lead to lawsuits concerning both parties on which has nothing in particular on Wyndhams part but they need to oversee who there actually associating with there services because bad service with rude attitude and no compassion there customers I wouldnt think Wyndham would appreciate especially when the Owner as well treats there bread and butter like shit and doesnt even exsist whats really going on here. I actually am deserved at this point a refund for all the trouble they gave me especially unexpectedely having to leave on the day of my husbands funeral services and was humiliated at that and I explained to the manager in which he already knew our situation and there was no real reason for him to refuse my paid service in which I had reserved with my credit card. He took upon himself to be especially mean and rude with no respect whatsoever for his own selfish reasons. Threating to call the police as if we had done some criminal activity. Who is really the criminal here. If thats how he intends to do his business I suggest he goes back to his own country where he came from because apparently he wasnt raised right! This Is America not tim buck two. Or he needs to go back to school and take English first of all and Business Management Skills where the customer 1^st of all is Always suppose to come first and be right. Especially when the customer is a good paying customer as well. I would never hire someone with his character and unknowledgable self.

The first room the put us in hadn’t been cleaned! The second place we got was cleaner… Until we saw a cockroach. Gross! I wish I’d read the Unilocal reviews before saying here. Can I give 0 stars?

By far my worst experience with a hotel
So back in May, I reserved the king bed suite with hot tub for Labor Day weekend. (3 nights for a total of $ 280) When I booked it they said the rooms are undergoing construction, which I figured would be done by the time Labor Day came.
I had my boyfriend call the Monday before to double check our reservation. All of a sudden, the woman on the phone said our room had been switched to a 2 queen bed room. My bf didnt want to change the room without my permission, so he told me what happened. I called the hotel and asked to switch the room back to what I had originally booked. The woman said she couldn’t do anything about it, then spoke with the manager Tarvin. He wrote down my number and said he would return my call when everything was situated. I told my friend who works in hospitality and she said you better call them back because the manager just used that as an excuse. So my bf called and Tarvin said since I booked my room with a AAA rate, I would have to call AAA to have them switch it back because they were the ones who switched the room and not him. So I called AAA and the man said they don’t even do that. So I called the hotel back and asked to speak with the manager but the woman said he was no longer there and since the manager was involved, there was nothing she could do. My bf called as soon as I got off the phone, and apparently Tarvin was there, but he was so angry he locked himself in his office. (If you dont want to deal with people hospitality industry definitely isn’t the job for you). My bf finally got everything taken care of and we got the room we wanted.
So we check into the hotel, no problems. We get into the room and it is nice an spacious but poorly lit. It also got really stuffy and the window couldn’t open and it took a while for the AC to actually work However, nothing in the room was new or redone. Everything was old and had cheap, lazy repairs. Old toilet, the shower curtain rod was stuck back up with blue putty, missing tiles. I also found a bottle of OJ and Squirt in the fridge. There was also a random fridge next to the bed that didnt work. I felt so gross in the shower lol it needs some serious bleaching or something. My boyfriend also found some roaches, and on the 3^rd night there were ants attacking the bathroom counter. It was really disgusting.
Also, we heard someone next door getting beat up. We wanted to call the police but we were afraid to get involved in their business.
I like the Super 8 in Costa Mesa, I wish this Super 8 can be nice and redone like that location. My boyfriend and I agreed that this place wouldn’t be so bad if they fix the bug problem and remodel/​properly some things.

This place is gross and definitely not worth it. I paid about $ 6 more and am going to the Hilton. The TV does not work the bathroom is gross. The bed is very uncomfortable and it has stains all over it. The floors and carpet are so dirty that my feet were caked with dirt and sticky. All the draws in the dressers stay open and will not close. There is loud traffic noise from the freeway which I would not mind if this place was clean and well kept. Over all this place is disgusting please think before you stay here because you can pay a couple dollars more and stay at the Hilton or Sheraton by the Ontario airport. I normally never leave reviews but I had to on this one. If you ever stay here look at the mattress you will literally become sick once you see all the blood stains and other stains that I am afraid to think what those stains are. Even the workers complain that this place is horrible and the owner does not care and will not fix things. I can go on and on but I will stop and just warn everyone to try to pass this place. Also the lights do not work and good luck trying to get someone to come up and fix the TV or lights. Also they have a ant infestation… this place is just beyond disgusting!!!

TRAVELOCITY EXPEDIA ripped me off for wrong day booking with them and they stated that they could do nothing about it. They should not do business with rip off artists. It makes them rip offs.

Worst place I’ve ever stayed at. I get to my room only to find out the window in the room I checked out has been shattered with broken glass all the place making it a very uncomfortable environment suitable for a nights rest. The bathroom door was so moldy that it was starting to rott at the bottom. Next the faucet installed on the room sink wouldn’t shut off all the way leaving water to escape is such a careless act of hotel management with the drought we have in California. The big surprise was in the morning I woke up to find a fluid which appeared in an brownish red color splattered just like blood. I was horrified and disgusted even more when the manager told me it was paint and not blood. OK if it was paint it can possibly be removed or such an issue can be simply fixed by getting a new mattress? To avoid confusion? Even if it was paint it would not create the drip splatter I saw since he said it was from when they leaned the mattress against the wall… Now unless they were painting the cealing red with a sheet less mattress underneath that story seems quite ridiculous. I wish I didn’t have to give this place a star but STAY AWAY really sketchy and dirty place. The managers name is Raj. Wouldn’t give me a refund even though I had asked for it since I discovered the broken window upon arrival. I was better off staying in the alley nearby.

Awful! ! This place is horrible. It should be torn down or bought out by another chain that cares about providing a safe, comfortable and CLEAN place to sleep. We got the room through
and I did read the reviews but took a chance. What a mistake. Or duets room was literally a few feet away from the freeway, the room had an empty Styrofoam cup with black stuff in it and shredded particles of who knows what on the floor near the nightstand. The bed didn’t have pillows. There was no remote control and no way to access any channels. The front desk clerk was a nice young guy who gladly moved us to another room further away from the freeway. This room has rash in the floor, no remote again, no towels in the bathroom and the bed was not fully made and there was a room key already in there. It seemed as if someone had checked into the room already. We called the front desk again and he apologized and offered to move us into a room close to the front office. Oh my God!!! This was by far the worst room. Although all of the rooms smelled bad, this one stunk like a seedy Las Vegas Casino. The bed yet again appeared to have been slept in, there was a pack of cigarettes in the trash and in the bathroom there were 3 to 4 wet dirty towels on the floor. This was IT we immediately went back to the front desk and requested a full refund. The sleek again, was courteous and apologetic staying that they’ve been having issues with their cleaning people. Honestly this place needs to GO!!! Do not stay here! ! By the way I had to rate this in order to post otherwise I would have left it at a zero star rating.

This place is awful. TV doesn’t work. They don’t even give you towels. This place needs to be demolished

This particular Super 8 is an insult to the franchise. It says Super 8, but, really? It’s not. I usually try and look for the good in things, but found it really hard to do that here. I did come up with a one nice thing I guess. Like, the front desk assistant was very helpful. She went out of her way to get me an iron that really should have been in the room to begin with. Although, it had debris on it so if I would have used it, it would have ruined my clothes, so, I just wore wrinkled cloths. They didn’t give me any grief when I asked to change to another room because the toilet wouldn’t flush and the sheets were dirty and the fire alarm in the room had been taken out and wires were exposed. Not to mention that the wall socket didn’t work and the light bulbs were missing out of one of the lamps. Those were just a few of the things. The noise level from the freeway is rather loud… probably because the doors don’t really shut all the way and the weather stripping is missing. It is close to a Denny’s though. Microwaves are only in some of the rooms, so, if you are brave and decide to stay here, make sure you request a room with one if you need it. Also, our room lacked a bar of soap and the Wi-​Fi was intermittent. On off on off on off. I hate that.
We will probably never stay here again. No, I take that back. We will never ever ever stay here ever again.

Was supposed to be staying at this hotel this weekend. I cancelled my reservation about 2 weeks ago. It was actually the manager that supposedly cancelled my room. He was very rude on the phone when I had called. He asked me for my name and the dates I was staying. Then said okay, and hung up on me. No goodbye, no confirmation, no nothing. Just hung up the phone.
Now today I see in my bank account that I still got charged! I called and the first girl I spoke with told me the manager was out and will call me back. 5 hours later and still no call. So I call back again. Talked to a different girl. The manager is there but refuses to talk to me. She said it’s his «day off». Why are you even at work if you don’t want to help customers that you screwed over?
He’s supposedly calling me tomorrow. We’ll see.
Don’t ever book a room here. The manager will just lie about cancelling your room and take your money.

I would give this establishment no stars if that was possible. I booked the room on the Super 8 website. I received an email confirmation and my Visa card was charged 64.90 for the night. I contacted the front desk to confirm that they did indeed have a room for me since the online confirmation is not always accurate. They told me that a room was available, though not the room I had booked. Then they proceeded to tell me that I could not have the room since my credit card is online only (I have no physical card). The woman was quite rude, and I told her that was the last money I had available and would be sleeping in my car sirdce they took my money and gave me no room. This was on Friday, October 3^rd. It is now Sunday, 5^th. I have been staying in my car since that Friday and the money will not credit back until Tuesday at the earliest. Even though Jenelle at the front desk told me that my car hadn’t been charged yet. She obviously isn’t familiar with the way a Visa card works. She told me to call customer service. Gave me the number in a very abrupt manner and hung up. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE! They care nothing about their patrons.

The motel does not look well taken care of. But it is still very good for the price. The bed is clean as well as the sheets. The customer service was very pleasing. I enjoyed staying at their motel. It’s still great for the price. I’d recommend people to stay over if you just need a place to sleep for a night or two.

Crappiest place to stay ever! The front desk lady is fat, and obnoxious. We waited 2 hours for our room to be cleaned after check in. It was labeled no smoking, but smelled of ashes all over the room. Don’t come here!

This place is just humiliating, I got in a car accident on Mountain Ave. and this was the nearest place I could stay at, I live about 60 miles from there so I needed somewhere to spend the night. Simply disgusting, the old lady in the front had a major attitude, the office smelled like ramen noodles, the counters in the room were sticky, the sheets were old, the coffee machine was broken and the coffee packets that were there had dust on them, god knows when the last time they changed them. Not to mention the sleepless night I had because of the freeway sound and the loud people upstairs who sounded like they were doing some very questionable things… Don’t stay here please.

1. This place couldn’t have creeped me out any more if the peep-​hole in the door had been turned around so that it looked INTO the room.
2. Gross.
3. Don’t do it.

I enjoyed my stay in room 230, this place has two buildings. I was probably ⁶⁄₇ rooms away from the freeway and yes it’s loud, but you have to be a light sleeper to complain, comfortable bed & nice size shower is all you need.
I will admit they need to upgrade their televisions. Small fridge kept my drink cold. A/​C unit was good.
Plenty of parking and just off a side street.
Convenient restaurant next door and small shopping plaza across the street.

My experience was OK. Price was low — like under $ 55 with taxes. I arrived early and asked for a quiet room. Well there isn’t any guarantee of a quiet room especially on a Friday night. I had only one noise instance and it wasn’t local, but still loud enough to be slightly disruptive — but — soon disappeared.
I needed to be close to that location for the night, and all my other options were farther away and almost twice the price. Since this may become an annual event, I plan to return next year. Maybe I just have good Karma.

This super 8 is terrible! The tv didnt really work because the cable was broken or hadnt been paid for by management, same with the internet. Every time my boyfriend and I left the room we could see the front desk woman staring us down as if we must be suspicious (guess it was a crime I didnt tell her I had my boyfriend with me). And when I asked to please checkout at 12 instead of 11, the staff said that was never possible. The room is clean, but literally for 4 dollars more you can go to a hotel a few miles away that will actually treat you as if they want you there.
