Nutter Hardware

Great hardware store, staffed by friendly knowledgable employees who want to help. The selection might be a little smaller than Lowes or Home Depot but 99% of the time you will get what you need here and not leave frustrated. I can’t think of a time I have gone in for something and they haven’t had it in stock and been able to give me advice on the project if I needed it. One time I had a question about a fence I was staining and one of the guys actually called his son (who was in the middle of a similar project) to ask him about it.

I needed a generator for an event, and stupidly left the purchase to the last minute. I went in to the store to inquire about their Honda generators, and was given terrific advice about which unit to purchase. The staff was very helpful, unfortunately the suggested unit was out of stock. The owner was there, and he very generously offered to lend me his personal generator to use until my unit came in. He even offered to deliver the new generator to my home. This is the type of service that will bring me back to Nutter Hardware for any other purchases.

This place is a hardware MECCA! They are a small mom & pop ACE hardware, but somehow it seemed like they had WAY more stuff than the big box stores. And the highlight of this place is… these people ACTUALLY know what they’re talking about. We came in for two very specific reasons, to purchase paint (they’re one of Columbus very few retailers that sells Benjamin Moore paint!) and to have a spare key made for our vehicle.
The guy who helped us out (I think he was a manager, actually) was fantastic. He helped us pick the right kind and brands of paint without bugging us to upsell. He helped us find the right color when the color I wanted wasn’t available in a certain brand. He made sure we had everything we needed, and threw in a paint key to boot.
The guys in the back at the hardware counter were super helpful with the spare key too, and they let us know there would be no hassles if it didn’t work and we needed to return it. It worked like a charm!
The guy at the register was a really pleasant guy, he was obviously really proud of the store. I would be too, it’s a fantastic little place! It will be our go-​to from now on for everything home-​related! It’s price comparable to the other big box hardware centers. They also have free popcorn and slushies! How could you possibly beat that?!

This is an excellent hardware store, and a welcome break from big box stores like Home Depot or Lowes. This staff is generally very well trained and knowledgable, and if they don’t know something, they will find someone who does.
This place is about ¹⁄₂₀ the size of a big box store, but they still manage to fit an astonishing array of products inside. They carry Benjamin Moore paint (its da best yo), and the guys that mix paint know their business.
They also have a rental department, which is great. There are all sorts of tasks that I only need to do 1 – 2 times a year, and it makes no sense to have a piece of equipment taking up space at home. I’ve rented from then many times.
I suspect that their prices are a bit higher than a big box store, but thats a bit of an illusion. Big box stores are often filled with low grade tools, fasteners and gear that ends up being junk when I use it. Nutter has higher quality tools, and I’ve noticed that they feature many US made tools, which I think is a huge plus.
If you’re tired of wandering the giant big box stores, and dealing with their stunningly unhelpful employees, this is the place to go. Great business.

I may have a screw loose, but I love small hardware stores with loose screws LOL. Seriously, Nutter Hardware has one entire aisle with loose wood screws, sheet metal screws, machine screws, nuts, in brass, steel and you name it. No blister packs anywhere! Not just nuts and bolts, they also have a huge paint department, Honda snow blowers, big ceramic smoker grills, rock salt and on and on.
Service is the best part of the surviving little-​box hardware guys. As soon as you walk thru the door here somebody asks what you need and points you to the right place. This saves so much time and frustration it’s just amazing.
Anyone remember when Zettler hardware was in the middle of Kingsdale? Ok I’ve dated myself :) it’s great to have a h/​w store right in the center of Arlington again.

LOVE this store. Even though it is a fairly small store they always have what I need. They are so friendly and knowledgeable without hovering. They can even assemble and deliver things for you which is awesome!

This is like a hardware store from my childhood, but because it is part of the Ace network, prices are competitive with the big box stores like Lowes and Home Depot. The staff are attentive but not intrusive. I love the convenient location. If you join their Ace Rewards program, you get really good coupons/​discounts frequently.

Nutter Hardware grade is based on three things. Convenience — the store opened last year and is right around the corner from me. Because I don’t have lawn care on my To-​Do list, Nutter remains my go-​to store for the handheld items. Paint, tape, electrical cords, and such. Staff — they ask what you’re there to find and get you moving. This is critical to me as I want first hand knowledge and Nutter staff gives in in spades. Product — Okay, it’s not Lowe’s and won’t be. But I would challenge anyone who is trying to get some handiwork done to try Nutter for its offerings. The aisles are narrow so there is a lot jammed into a smallish store. It feels down home and the owner seems to be trying to make it stay that way. The fifth star would come if check-​out service were reconfigured. The area seems out of place for some reason and people tend to run back for «oh, I forgot this thing» and they let ‘em. Patience, my son. Nutter is good stuff.

Great local hardware with a mostly helpful staff. They have 95% of what I have been there for my home repair projects.

This place just opened a couple days ago so hopefully the new store shine stays around for a good while. That being said while the store itself is new it’s actually in the space (well some of it) that the Kingsdale Giant Eagle used to occupy before being replaced by the food mecca that is Market District.
The store itself is bright and inviting, the only thing that didn’t look brand new and pristine were the floors which they probably inherited with the space. They were very clean, just looked worn, no biggie it’s a hardware store! I wasn’t looking for anything in particular when I went in, just sort of checking it out, but the store is smaller than the Sears Hardware store, but appeared to offer more services.
The staff of the store and management are all friendly and outgoing as you’d expect from a business just getting started and trying to make a name for itself in the community. If they’re friendliness keeps up, they will give Sears Hardware on henderson a serious run for their money. Especially since apparently ACE Hardware stores (Nutter is an ACE store) now carry Craftsman products.
This side of Upper Arlington has been in need of a hardware store for a while now, hopefully this one does well!
