I wish I had read the prior review about Long Lanes appliance repair department. It is spot on. I usually use Sears but thought I would give a local guy a try– I was so sorry I did. I asked for the first apt of the day as my son works nights and would have to stay awake and wait for him. I was promised the first appt and that the repair guy could be at my home by 8 am — Perfect! I agreed to this only to have him finally show up at 10 am. They charged the $ 89 plus tax to come out and tell me my icemaker was broken then wanted $ 180 for the part and another $ 90 to install it. Not applying any of the $ 89 to any of this. Also they said the part was on back order for 2 weeks. At this point I said never mind. I know that icemaker pops into place very easily. I went online to Sears parts– got the part I needed for $ 110 including shipping, had it at my home in 3 days and put it in myself. Sears even has videos to show you how. Go to SEARS not here.
