Subzi Mandi Halal Meat

I was looking for an Indian Market that has fresh curry leaves that wasn’t all the way up by King of Prussia or in Buck’s County. I goggled and found this one and thought I’d give it a try since it was near H-​Mart and I could hit up both shops in one trip. I just got a new Indian cookbook, and I was excited about cooking some near recipes.
The dry goods in here were fine. I found all the usual spices, flours, and dals that you expect to find at an Indian food store. The prices were steeper than I was used to though. I was already out here, so I bought stuff anyway.

I moved into the produce section and was extremely disappointed to find weepy, wilty produce. The eggplant was all wrinkled. The fresh peppers were far from fresh and were all shriveled up, and the curry leaves had begun to turn brown. It was a sad sight for fresh produce. I decided to wait and buy my produce at H-​Mart and not fix the southern Indian recipes with the curry leaves.

I went to the register to pay and the clerk didn’t even say a word to us, including the total amount we owed. I thanked him after we paid and he was silent with a sour look on his face… not friendly at all.
Unless I’m in the area and need just spices or dal desperately, I think I’ll just make the drive up further north next time where I can get produce, better prices, and better service.
