Our mission is to provide a fun, exciting environment that will empower communities through education, growth and development needed for existing and future employment in the computer industry. The Wiz Kids’ model combines the fundamentals of computer technology with academic and mentoring goals to improve results and maximize achievement.

Business Owner

Gerard Cooper is a seasoned Information Technology (IT) professional with almost 20 years experience with extensive hands on-​technical knowledge troubleshooting and configuring PCs/​MACs and servers in a network support role.

After a layoff during the recession of 2009 from a downsizing law firm in Washington, DC, Mr. Cooper’s desire to form this organization intensified. His vision is to specialize in the training of youth and young adults in information technology, computer education and computer troubleshooting and repair. This passion began as a way to help his teenage son focus his intellectual energy in a positive manner. His son, despite failing most of his classes, showed great interest and capacity with learning about computers. Mr. Cooper took it upon himself to teach his son as much as he could about computers from the inside out. But throughout this rough patch with his son, Mr. Cooper discovered a passion for teaching young people.
