Chef To Go Catering

We used Chef To Go Catering our large wedding earlier this month and the food was phenomenal. My fiancé was a little worried about hiring someone who does not do tastings, but after meeting with Chef Dan and listening to him describe his food, he was sold. The Chef’s passion for food shines through. He was very patient with us during this process. Our food was served buffet style. The chicken and tri tip were wonderful but I had more than one person rave about his seasonal vegetables! I would highly recommend this amazing chef and his staff to anyone who is looking to work with an accomplished professional for an outstanding event.

As a surprise my brother took me to a farm to fork Dinner prepared by Chef to go! Each course was delicious and the wine pairing was spot on! brilliant job Daniel I highly recommend chef to go for any catering needs!

Chef Daniel catered our 50^th wedding anniversary last weekend. He and his team (a special shout out to Nancy!) did a wonderful job! They arrived in plenty of time, arranged the table linens, set out the flower arrangements and candles… they just took care of every little detail. We and our guests all thought the food was delicious and the service spectacular. We didn’t have to lift a finger and were able to enjoy our party and guests. Daniel was great to work with in setting up this reservation, on staying connected as the date approached, and delivered above and beyond the day of the event. We would recommend Chef to Go to anyone reading this.

We recently had an event at the Vacaville Opera House catered by Chef Daniel, Chef to Go Catering. It went far beyond our expectations. The food was delicious and the staff was kind, professional and extremely accommodating.
From our first meeting with a Chef Daniel to the end of our event, Chef Daniel offered helpful suggestions while meeting all of our needs. The food was enjoyed by everyone, service was impeccable and the set up lovely, from the hors d ovres and entrees to desserts and beverages.

The Buck Foundation in Vacaville has used Chef Daniel and Chef to Go Catering for our scholar gatherings for the last seven years. Chef Daniel catered my brother’s wedding and was just excellent in every way. Really great price (seriously, the best we found) and absolutely great food. Chef Daniel is also super responsive to emails, which is great, and was wonderful about helping to coordinate and set up the dining room, working with the bartender and baker who was delivering the cake, etc — all in a venue where there were NONE of the actual people from the wedding there, since the ceremony itself was in a church 15 minutes away. Daniel is really a pro and a joy to work with — really highly recommended!

First, I must thank Daniel Bell and his incredibly attentive staff for a job well done! It was no simple task, or so I thought, preparing and serving 250+ guests at a remote country venue for my daughter’s wedding. They effortlessly presented our guest with a phenomenal buffet meal that seemed to magically appear; hot, on time and oh so DELICIOUS! The food was not rationed as with some caterers and if desired, there’s was enough for seconds. People have not stopped raving about the food! I was a bit nervous about serving chicken breast as one of the entrees but it was presented hot, tender and moist and it was a perfect choice. Chef to Go has amazing menu choices. I’ve been to several events they have catered and the food was always exceptional. I only wish he had a restaurant I could go to to sample the rest of his many creations. From our initial planning meeting, Daniel was helpful and accommodating in creating an affordable menu that would satisfy this large group of people. He was even willing to alter his own recipes to satisfy our needs. Daniel is reassuring by his relaxed yet confident demeanor. He was easy to communicate with throughout the planning process and it was never a problem when we repeatedly changed the head count or altered the plans. I would highly recommend «Chef to Go Catering» (Daniel Bell) and his amazing team as your next caterer. You will not be disappointed!

Chef to go Catering catered our wedding in September 2014 and we were very happy with all his help throughout the process answering all our questions and assisting with the rentals we needed — organizing and verifying we had everything covered. We were concerned at the beginning about not being able to do a tasting but decided to go for it anyways as they had catered a wedding at our venue before and we had heard good things from them — we ended up very happy with the food and have heard nothing but good things about all the food from the guests!
We had a guest that is allergic to garlic and when I found out just a week before and notified Chef Dan about it he was very flexible and even provided her her own plated dinner.
During cocktail hour, we were taking pictures and the staff brought us some appetizers that were being served which was greatly appreciated! Overall the wait staff was attentive and professional.
Overall, very happy with the help and the food!

Daniel Bell, Chef to go Catering is by far my favorite caterer to work with. I have had the pleasure of Daniel’s amazing food (uses lots of local produce and high quality meats etc) as he has been our «in-​house» caterer for the last 11 years at Wooden Valley Winery. He is creative, accommodating and reliable. I never have to worry about the quality of the food or the presentation.
I have also used Daniel for my children’s weddings, rehearsal dinners etc. I would not hesitate to recommend him. Always goes above and beyond

Where do I start? I had the pleasure of having Chef Daniel cater my wedding back in October 2013. Let me just say that Chef Daniel is hands down the most AMAZING caterer ever. There was not a single detail that went unnoticed, his attention to detail is impeccable. Throughout all of the emails back and forth over the course of a whole year, he answered every single question I had and never made me feel like I was «bugging» him asking all these silly questions. He handled everything with such professionalism I was astounded. The wait staff was equally as attentive, courteous and detail oriented. And the food! OMG the FOOD! We received so many compliments on the food we had at our wedding, people are still talking about it! Everything Chef and his staff handled for us was perfectly flawless. I can’t wait to have an event that I can hire Chef to Go Catering to handle! Thank you Chef!!!

I had the privilege and opportunity to be the «day of» event planner for a recent wedding that was catered by Chef To Go Catering. They were highly recommended from a handful of friends of my bride and groom. I got on board a month before the wedding and Chef Daniel got me up to date on every last detail. The wedding was at the bride & grooms home & the space was not ideal for an event that size. Most every vendor would have complained but Chef was super flexible and accommodating. Helpful does not begin to describe Chef Daniel. He recommended different food options for the kids that ended up saving my bide & groom $$$. The day of the wedding we had an ice emergency. I went to purchase 15 bags of ice for our open bar (nothing to do with Chef To Go Catering) & it was going to be 90 degrees out that day. As luck would have it, the whole city of Fairfield CA was out of ice!?? Since I am not local, I did not know what to do. So I called Chef– after he told me to relax & he would have no problem picking up a crazy amount of ice on his way to the wedding.
The minute he arrived with his team I was at complete ease. They really do set up anywhere! The kitchen that they used ended up being the last minute location for the guests children to watch movies & play during the ceremony. That didn’t even phase Chef or his team. His crew was a true pleasure to have working with me. They are the cleanest, fastest, and nicest wait staff I have ever worked around. I got a bit sad at the end of the night thinking that I wished I lived closer to have Chef to Go Catering at all my events. Oh– the Food, the food, the food. ALL of the guests raved about how delicious the food was.
Overall, if you want a caterer that goes above and beyond for your event plus has amazing food– Hire Chef To Go!!!

I used Chef To Go Catering for my outdoor wedding of approximately 160 people in Napa, CA. Chef Bell was flexible, accommodating and had amazing food. He accommodated my unusual requests — to use salmon caught by my father (a commercial fisherman) and spices contributed by my Indian mother-​in-​law to make BBQ salmon and tandoori chicken. Although Chef Bell is fairly informal, his food is as gourmet as you want it to be. For our wedding, we served:
— Baby greens, apples, toasted almonds, blue crumbles with honey white balsamic vinaigrette
~ Tomato salad with pesto
~ Seasonable fresh fruit salad
~ Vegetarian ravioli, evoo and fresh grated Parmesan (people LOVED this)
~ BBQ salmon, lemon grass extract and ginger compound butter
~ Tandoori chicken (using an Indian family recipe)
~ Assorted artisan breads and rolls
Chef Bell provided the complete buffet set up, buffet cloths, a service staff of 8 (who were all professional and nice), dinner plates, stainless steel knife and fork, cloth napkin (you pick the color) and clear plastic plastic cake plate and fork. His well-​attired staff passed appetizers, set up the table tops, cleared plates, poured wine, cut the cake and generally cleaned up.
The best part: Per person, including a service charge and sales tax, was about $ 38 per person. I did extensive research and most quotes ranged from $ 65 to $ 100 per person. Weddings are ridiculously overpriced and you will get played — but not by Chef Bell! He provided amazing value for your money and is courteous and responsive to boot. I also had to shift chairs from the ceremony in one part of the venue to the dining area in another part of the venue while the guests were in a third part of the venue, and he was willing to have his staff do so for a small fee. He has an extensive array of food and is willing to work with you for personalize requests.

Last week Chef to go Catering provided breakfast and lunch for our company holiday party. Since I work early I was able to enjoy both meals. As I walked into the building the aroma of fresh eggs and potatoes lured me toward the conference room. There were two kinds of eggs– plain and for the more adventurous eggs mixed with bacon, cheese and chives. I really liked the cheesy eggs. The potatoes were seasoned and tasted really good. Even the security guard stopped me to ask and make sure I got some. The fruits were sweet and fresh. Everything else was also great and was a nice start to the day.
For lunch we had all your holiday favorites– salad, turkey, veggies, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry and bread. They did a good job of keeping trays filled and warm. The salad was okay but I really liked that the turkey was not dry. I’m one of those people that doesn’t really like white meat. I also liked that the veggies had a lot of variety and they weren’t soggy. Sometime veggies get soggy when they sit in the tray too long. The mashed potatoes were creamy and paired well with the gravy. It was nice to see Chef to go Catering at our company event.

For four years in a row, our summer camp of ~80 kids and ~25 adults has been using Chef Daniel to keep everyone stuffed and happy.
Needless to say, serving 3 daily meals to 100+ people, for 7 days in a row, and at a campground 50 miles from civilization is a feat. Yet somehow he manages to make it happen in a way that is affordable and satisfies the picky needs of all kinds of eaters.
Thanks to Daniel, not only are our meals delicious and always served on time, they are nutritious — something you might not expect when feeding so many people at a summer camp.
Daniel and his staff are also friendly, willing to work with us for whatever last-​minute needs arise, and have always met our budget. For a non-​profit organization, that’s key.
I highly recommend Daniel and Chef To Go Catering — just don’t book him during our camp next summer!

Chef Daniel is so wonderful! We were looking for a caterer for our wedding and sort of stumbled across his website. His food looked great, but the service was even better! Unsure what I was doing or how to work everything out, he was always there answering my questions and providing suggestions. We got such a great deal with his wedding special: food, servers, dining rentals, and clean up. In addition to saving so much money with him, the food was divine! Everyone at the wedding complimented our choice to go with him. Although he doesn’t do tastings in advance, trust me on this one. He worked with us to accommodate vegetarian options and healthy choices, while delivering beautiful, delicious food. If you are looking for a caterer for any event — Chef to Go is the easy choice!

Chef Daniel did an excellent job, serving both breakfast and lunch to our business meeting of 60 people. His food got rave reviews! Chef Daniel and his staff were great to work with, and it was very easy to coordinate, from selecting the menu up to confirmation. The presentation of the food was beautiful and we got incredible value for the price. I recommend Chef Daniel wholeheartedly!

Chef Dan did a superb job of catering for my daughter’s graduation from law school. I suspect that I was not the easiest of clients, had high expectations and really wanted everything to be just right. At each step of the planning process, Chef Dan was willing and able to help, and on the day of our big event, he and his staff (Megan) were extraordinary! Really — just wonderful in every way! We had Chef Daniel for our Valentine’s Banquet and will never use anyone else again! He is the best in town and worth every penny!

We have had Chef Daniel cater two dinners for us; one a more traditional menu and the other a bit more eclectic. Both events exceeded our expectations: the food was delicious, only fresh ingredients were used, and everything was prepared exactly as it should be! At both parties, our guests gave the food rave reviews! Beyond the overall quality and presentation, the service staff was friendly, unobtrusive, and very attentive; they didn’t miss a beat.
Chef Daniel was also great to work with on our menus — he definitely knows his food, and can help you decide what will go well with whatever you want to serve. He listens to you, is flexible, and doesn’t just tell you what he thinks you want. He is always ready to suggest something, and helped us put together two perfect menus, including creating a wonderful vegan option for one of our guests. He definitely enjoys his work, is very personable, and is really, really good at what he does.
Chef Daniel’s prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service provided. You might be able to find someone who charges a little bit less, but do you really want to risk the centerpiece of your event (the food) for a couple of bucks a head??? I don’t! Bottom line, you cannot go wrong with Chef to Go Catering!

We used Chef Daniel as our caterer for our wedding on May 16^th, 2010.
I must say that for what we received, particularly the quality of the food, I feel like Chef Daniel’s services are HUGE bargain. He was our second choice, after our original caterer had to back out, and I’m so glad that happened – because the first caterer’s food/​service was maybe as good, but was also twice the price. I was actually pretty stunned when Chef gave me his quote!
Chef Daniel and his team came through in every way possible. Our reception was for roughly 100 people and included a selection of appetizers outdoors, and then a full buffet indoors, at a venue out in the country with no kitchen facilities beyond some sinks in the bathroom.
Everyone in my extremely picky family, who have endured many bland wedding buffets, has told me how amazingly delicious and gourmet everything was. We were able to provide vegan, vegetarian and gluten-​free options, while still accommodating the meat-​and-​potato-​loving folks on the other side of the spectrum. Even the kids loved it.
In choosing a menu, we were given virtually unlimited options, so for the most part I just gave the chef a list of some of our favorite ingredients and asked him to put something together for us. The menu he proposed was very thoughtful and showed that he puts a lot of creativity and effort into his food. When we proposed modifications, he either made them or gave very good reasons why he didn’t recommend the changes.
In addition to the food, Chef handled all the rentals for us (tables, linens, dishes, etc.) and his team also served the drinks we brought ourselves, with no corkage fee. Everything ran incredibly smoothly, service-​wise, and our other vendors (venue, florist) were very happy working with him. In fact, Chef Daniel was recommended to us by the director of our venue, who used his catering for his own wedding (which was all-​local, all-​organic), and then for numerous events after that.
One of the best parts for me personally, because I absolutely LOATHE dealing with people over the phone, was that Chef Daniel was able to handle everything via e-​mail. In fact, we’d never spoken or met in person before the big day! I had been a bit hesitant, because Chef To Go does NOT offer tastings, but he had such glowing reviews that I went ahead anyway – and then I got to be totally blown away when I finally tried the food at my wedding!
